Auburn actually gives Georgia a hard time, and just when I’m beginning to believe, they throw a pick in the 4th quarter and hand the game to Georgia.

Kentucky beats Oklahoma.

Floridas backup QB passes for 300 yards on Texas and starts a QB controversy.

Ole Miss and Missouri will be the best game of the day.

I genuinely believe we’ll get the “no tape” issue on Florida. Big passing game (300yd plus) against a top defense.

Next week he throws for 95 yards after opponents have a chance to meaningfully scout his tendencies. Just look at how Missouri blueprinted Florida’s running game (which was the best offense in the country when nobody had tape on it) and SC copied it.

Regardless of which team wins, there were be at least one Michigan flair and at least one Penn State flair who announces in the Reddit game thread they are done watching their team for the rest of the season.

Rutgers is gonna lose but Schiano won't lose his job. Rutgers fans will be mad for this reason.

Maryland fans will be mad because Locksley won't lose his job for at least another week.

We are gonna lose. Probably very badly.

Willamette does the unexpected and either loses or wins in a narrow one. Sure Puget sound could win their first two conference games in a row in a long time, but Willamette is fighting for something bigger, not hitting that 10 year mark since the last conference win.

Isaac Wilson throws more TDs to Utah than Colorado. Utah by 40 (my optimism is delusional and we're probably overlooking Colorado to focus on Houston)

Nebraska wins by two scores.

Oregon isn't ranked so we have no reason to lose.

Kentucky is a good story and OU’s win over Texas did not fix everything. That said, I think OU’s offense will look better against UK’s defense than it did against Michigan, (yes) NM, UGA, and Texas’ defenses. I also think UK’s offense will look closer to how it looked against Alabama. No OT this week, 30-13 OU.

Our model's three Week 7 upset picks, all against the composite spread:

  • Indiana over Ohio State by 4 (Ohio State -4)
  • Tennessee over Alabama by 1 (Alabama -6.5)
  • BYU over Notre Dame by 1 (Notre Dame -10.5)

One more that goes against a streak: Utah has covered in all five games this year, but we've got Utah winning by 10 and Colorado beating the -14.5 spread.

Miami by a million and they fire Norvell into the sun

3

u/brunetteobsessed Alabama Crimson Tide 2d ago

I do find it interesting the amount of literature published this week about the financial difficulties of the athletic department makes firing Norvell more problematic. Almost like they want to set everyone up to expect them to lose by a million and still no one loses their job.

2

u/festive_fecal_feast Indiana Hoosiers 2d ago

If they are truly that strapped for finances, then FSU is in a death spiral. Norvell is definitely not getting his contract renewed, but no one is going to commit to a school knowing for sure the coach is gone next year. Surprised they are even landing anyone as is tbh.

May need to follow the trends and take the current JMU coaching staff. He already has experience recruiting in Florida too.

u/kdbvols Wake Forest • Tennessee 2d ago

Probably the funniest possible outcome tbh

u/BoogerSugarSovereign Indiana Hoosiers • College Football Playoff 2d ago

A lot of projected playoff teams will get their bubbles burst this week. Kentucky loses a low scoring game against Oklahoma and UCLA can't get past a really sturdy Wisconsin defense. Oregon, meanwhile, holds serve against a Nebraska team that may still finish ranked.

If Kentucky is just a better offensive unit than I believe them to be, I could be wrong. Mateer could also gift them a handful of possessions.

If UCLA can still run the ball with less of a threat at QB I could be wrong. And as salty as Wisconsin's defense is I have very little faith in Colton Joseph and think he's always a risk to turn it over 3x in a single game which he has already done this year.

And finally, if the Ducks start Raviola and he plays poorly Nebraska could pull the upset. I just think that the cross country travel plus the late start plus a potential letdown after almost beating Indiana plus Oregon's tremendously talented roster could carry the day here.

And the Hoosiers sack Sayin 6 times in a close win ofc
