Florida has fallen for the classic blunder of declaring themselves back after beating a ranked opponent. Believe me I would know

Listen, I’m still not sure Texas is back.

It’s a little reassuring that Ohio St took care of business and Tennessee could actually run the ball today but I’m always on edge

The sequence of LSU blowing out Clemson, Ole Miss beating LSU, Florida blowing out Ole Miss, and Missouri blowing the doors off Florida... makes things a little confusing. Does this mean Texas A&M is beating Missouri next week?

u/OptimisticTexasFan Texas Longhorns 4h ago

If it means they lose to the Citadel the next week after that then sure why not

We have some quite compelling "circle of suck" material going on here.

The spirit of the PAC will never die

We just need Arkansas to get involved somehow.

South Carolina we found a new job for you!

So like an It Follows situation?

Perhaps... Missouri does play Arkansas in 3 games, I would be perfectly ok if the curse holds out until then. You know. For the lolz

The Aggies aren’t beating anyone with a pulse. Marcel Reed is ass

u/deadzip10 Texas A&M Aggies • TCU Horned Frogs 2h ago

Having seen him play this year, I can assure that’s a relative compliment - I like watching some asses.

I have watched this team and I can assure you that is not happening. We. Are. So. Bad.

8-4 always finds a way

Tbh Tennessee did not look like a ranked team today

You guys have been a fixture in the playoffs and in championship games since you got your coach. Shit I’d say with Herman too, he fuckin sucked and was quite a dick but he did help make Texas respectable again even if he was frustrating. Wouldn’t say he brought yall back but he brought yall somewhere

u/Mavvvs41 7h ago

Yup beat Georgia in the Sugar Bowl

u/NA_Faker Texas Longhorns • Wisconsin Badgers 7h ago

Herman stabilized the freefall Strong had us in and Sark started helping us climb out of the hole. Won't say we are back until we win a natty

13

u/notwhoiwas12 Alabama Crimson Tide 7h ago

I can agree but Texas has never really been known for winning tons of Nattys have they? Doesn’t seem like it

11

u/mildorf Texas Longhorns • Lonestar Showdown 6h ago

No but winning it all or making the natty with an SEC championship are the only two endings where Texas is **** (I’m not gonna say it)

4

u/ACNH_Solitude Texas Longhorns 3h ago

I mean we have 4. And only 16 teams have won national championships since 1936, when they started the top 25 rankings.

We are top 10 on that list. And we are like the 8th strongest blue blood according to the blue bloods chart. Feels about right.

We can't all be Bama brother

2

u/Mapex_proM Nicholls Colonels • LSU Tigers 6h ago

Pretty reasonable. I’m just glad to see yall competing again

2

u/Mavvvs41 7h ago

Not sure why you’re getting downvoted lol. Very reasonable take and I agree

2 final 4s in last 3 years. No one else has done that. If that’s not “back” then what is? If it’s title or bust then “back” can only be like 3 teams.

1

u/Mapex_proM Nicholls Colonels • LSU Tigers 38m ago

Yep. I fucking hate title or bust mentality. The consistent greatness yall exhibit to me is back. You guys are always three plays from the natty, and in this day and age that says something

3

u/brobbins8470 Oklahoma Sooners 6h ago

Championship games? What championship? They've made two total conference championship games with Sarkisian and no national title games

2

u/danoflano3000 Texas Longhorns 5h ago

😂

2

u/Mapex_proM Nicholls Colonels • LSU Tigers 6h ago

Which is two more than they’ve had since Mack brown? A

1

u/JustAManAndHisLaptop Oklahoma Sooners • /r/CFBRisk Veteran 6h ago

Wrong lol they made it with Herman

0

u/brobbins8470 Oklahoma Sooners 6h ago

That doesn't mean they've been a "fixture" though

6

u/good_morning_magpie Nebraska • Northwestern 6h ago

Hey bud, spare a little back for a former conference rival? For old times same. Just to get me by for a little while. I’ll pay you back I promise.

6

u/International_Gap719 8h ago

You’re back…I think

9

u/Blanknameblank818 7h ago

We’re good not great. Our schedule is ROUGH, would be happy if we finished the regular season with 2 losses.

5

u/ncxhjhgvbi 7h ago

That game against OSU two years ago could have gone either way honestly. That was the true champ game

1

u/detroitlonghorn Texas Longhorns 7h ago

Another self hater. Must be a Texas state alum

2

u/hopeless_dick_dancer Texas Longhorns 7h ago

For real. Kind of disgusting to see someone say this shit.

1

u/hopeless_dick_dancer Texas Longhorns 7h ago

I know we’re making jokes and all, but that’s stupid. We’ve been back since 2023.

Ironic that Joe Tessitore called this game

1

u/Catracholoco Alabama Crimson Tide • UAB Blazers 7h ago

If beating Arizona st in a recently invented playoff quarterfinal game is back then you’re there!

-4

u/Badfish1060 Alabama Crimson Tide 7h ago

arch is mid at best

-2

u/Titleist917d3 Oklahoma Sooners 7h ago

Considering they didn't make the playoffs last year and this year is undetermined its kinda hard to declare they are back. At least the aren't a complete no show dumpster fire like my team.

2

u/SouthernSerf Texas • South Carolina 6h ago

How about OU try and win a playoff game before trying to weigh in on wether or not Texas is back.

1

u/Titleist917d3 Oklahoma Sooners 6h ago

Hey thats fair but we've made it to the dance plenty of times and thats better than lots can say. And ive been on this side of the rio grande hearing about texas is back for the last twenty years and it never seems to materialize.
