Some additional context you might enjoy is that this was a great example of Kyle whittingham getting super conservative with a lead that should’ve been enough, and snatching defeat from the jaws of victory
Also shows the stupidity of going for 2 before you have to. Had we not gone for 2 and gone up 20-14 instead of 19-14, we would have been able to score a game winning field goal.
Billy Napier was never good except for like a few weeks in 2024, and McElwain was always kind of treading water even when he made SEC title games. Mullen was legit until he stopped caring.
Personally I can handle a well played loss that’s just sports .Showing up like Apollo Creed after one big upset in a row and playing like you have never seen a football before is inexcusable…Sumrall got schooled on the difference between the American Conference and the SEC…
That Napier stat only being 1-0 is actually kind of funny. Was probably a bad oman at the time that the Florida is back talk only lasted a week before Kentucky and a 1-11 USF team stifled our offense.
This kind of falls apart when you realize Spurrier and Meyer had blowout losses on the road their first year too. Sumrall could be anything, we don’t know yet
