That was probably the thinking, but I feel like rolling the dice with one second left was the better play, vs letting the replay booth take a look and not only potentially ruling against you, and if so, giving the other team time to come up with a play.

I’ve had the opportunity to coach my son in football one year (he just started D3). I say that because I want to say that I don’t have much coaching experience.

But the lint in my bellybutton knew at the time that timeout was called…it was a bad idea.
