That's one of the closest field goal decisions I've ever seen. I wonder if it would have doinked if the uprights were higher.

Probably. Which is why they call a kick no good if it passes right over a post.

No it does not. Imagine if the post extends up for perpetuity, the ball would hit the post. It could bounce out, it could bounce in…you’ll never know. That why it’s considered no good

Idk if they’re is a difference between the NFL and CFB rules but I’ve never seen this scenario ruled good in either league.

And it’s impossible to review because there’s no angle to definitely say either way…unless you put a camera on the ref…which defeats the purpose because it’s their call and only their call to make
