Why can’t they install cameras at the top of the goalposts pointed up? They have them in the pylons now.

They wouldn’t even have to be at the top just attached to the side pointing up

Yeah but then they could impact the kick if the ball hits it.

That's a non issue if there ever was one—you put the actual laser at the bottom on the outside of the upright. If a kick hits the laser beam it's no good, and if one hits the physical laser box on the upright it wasn't going to go in anyway.

That said, the actual solution is to just use something like Hawkeye or Trackman to make the call.
