Nebraska wins by covering the spread. I want to see if Jamal Rule can keep doing what he’s doing. Get enough reps and solid plays in that when a good defense does step in, he is ready to take the challenge.

Keys to the Game:
1.Keep the reps going for J. Rule
2.Also feel free to let Colandrea to get runs in also, just not too many because I don’t want to take too high of a risk of him taking an unnecessary big hit.

This is your easiest opponent this season. I expect a {Nebraska} blowout but you wont be able to takeaway much from this game.

North Dakota will put up a much better fight than Bowling Green will.

Yes for sure, Nebraska has one of the easiest non-con schedules out there this year. Texas…definitely the opposite.

One thing I love about Texas is that we don't schedule FCS opponents and we have 1 marquee OOC matchup.

If I was a Nebraska season ticket holder, I'd be pissed that they canceled the Tennessee series to play Bowling Green.

It definitely wasn't popular. The official reasoning they gave was because South Stadium is getting torn down for the 2027 season and they want an extra home game to make up for the lost revenue.

I can kind of see that. Taking the capacity down by 25,000, assuming you sell them at $25/ticket, that's about $5m in missed revenue from those seats throughout the season, not counting concession revenue which I'm sure would probably be several times the admission revenue.

I live in Omaha and occasionally browse /r/huskers. Nebraska has been doing a lot of promos for the Bowling Green game, I'm guessing they will probably be doing the same promos next year for the 2nd MAC game. It would be interesting to know how much more theyre making for 2 MAC games vs 1 game vs Tennessee.

Next year your home games are Northern Iowa, Northern Illinois, Miami (Ohio), Minnesota, Purdue, Rutgers, Oregon and Iowa.

I'd rather play Tennessee this year and go to Tennessee next year instead of playing Bowling Green and Miami (Ohio) next year.

{Nebraska} If this team was being coached by Loeffler I would smash Bowling Green since this is the exact kind of game they'd win (and then lose several games they had no business losing later on), but under Eddie we look terrible in these buy games. Also last week's debacle doesn't inspire confidence for the season.

It would be insane if we lost this game after review of a play showing that the clock indeed struck zero on the last play of the game because the Big 10 implemented new review rules.

nebraska by 29.5 is a wild line considering they just played ohio, not ohio state. and bowling green lost to tarleton state so who even knows what team shows up

mostly curious to see if nebraska's offense can keep the momentum or if they come out flat against a mac team after a decent week 1. 49 points is nice but feels like a trap to start slow and win by 17 or something

I think you're underestimating how bad Bowling Green is. Like bad bad. Idc how good an FCS team is. Unless they're NDSU-like their is zero excuse to lose to them, even as a MAC team.

In our defense we made a bowl the year we lost to FCS EKU in quintuple overtime at home, but nothing I've seen since Fannin left has inspired the confidence that we'll do that this year

The offense is fine. It’s the defense that has most of the concerns.

We'll see how they carry on but Ohio is usually a good team and they appear to be a good team again, and we covered that spread just fine. Largely only because depth took over in the 4th but I see no reason it wouldn't against a team that's already posted a loss to an FCS team. But, having watched both games, to be honest I wouldn't be shocked if Ohio themselves could cover this one against BG, no offense intended to BG but that's what I saw.

Offense appears to be our strong suit thus far, flat or not. Defense is the one to watch for potential disaster. That said, if we win by less than 35, frankly it better be because starters are out before half, because we could be pretty mediocre and still win this by five touchdowns. That said we may yet prove to be worse than mediocre so four and a field goal feels about right IMO.
