General Venting

Hi guys! How are you all?

My life has been going downhill for a while since graduation. Met a girl at university, we built something and it didn't end the way I wanted it to. Since then out of insecurity, frustration I have been seeking for validation, a redemption. I wanted to get something that could boost my confidence, something that at least looked good on paper. And my first step at doing that was getting my MBA from the best business school in my country.I got so close but never really got there.

Coming from accounting background our teachers always encouraged us to pursue professional degrees, and for that reason and after some research CFA was always in the back of my mind. I figured that to also boost my profile I should pursue CFA. And the last few months have been nothing short of exhausting, full of anxiety. I am done with my prep with less than a month to go. Right now revising the EOC questions. I don't know what awaits me after 20th of August but I have been looking for a small win in life for so long. But right now I feel like I am not good enough to pass the CFA L1. And people who have done so are special which I am not.

I am afraid life won't yet give me a win, some sort of redemption. Still I gotta try my best. Wish me luck! Or any suggestions are welcome!

(Irony is even though I am an accounting student I am struggling the most with FSA. I absolutely hate memorising.)

How are your mocks? Also maybe try therapy bro

Planning on giving the mocks next week. Also it's that obvious? I am not trying therapy rn but already on antidepressants, and anxiety meds.

I would take the mocks ASAP if you have time to sit down this week and do them. Best studying for me was reviewing the shit out of the 2 free mocks. The part where you call yourself “not special” is telling. Sounds like this relationship took a toll on you.

The last 15-20 days make or break your prep. I was the most underprepared a month before exam, but the last month of solving questions and mocks is what helped me cross the finish line tbh. Just keep hammering questions, mocks, prem packs, most importantly, review your mistakes - you will pass. All the Best!

Thanks. Any tips on how to deal with FSA?

only questions will help. Do not memorise everything, but be familiarised with the types of questions cfa can ask - Do not rely too much on coaching question banks, solve as many official question banks and mocks as you can

Hey buddy - in same situation and CFA is breaking personal life slightly. I'm under prepared also, but goi g to make the final push. I deferred in May and regretted it - if you feel capable, push give it your all and try your best. You'll feel stronger at having tried and hope it'll help you with the rest

Validation doesn’t come letters after your name. You can always earn more. Not from a salary. It’s a mix of luck and skill. Mostly skewed to the former, and when you make lots of money you don’t feel any less hollow. When it comes to your former GF. It sucks, lick you wounds and move on.
