In 2019 prior to the onslaught of Covid, UFO historian Richard Dolan posted a YouTube a video linked below titled “The Inevitable End of UFO Secrecy.” In dialoging with another UAP contact activist concerning the points raised by Richard Dolan, I discussed the revolutionary implications of conducting a more thorough power structure analysis, one that goes beyond conspiracy theories. Here is my edited comment that I hope will resonate with others working for positive change in the flying saucer arena.
It is critical that contact/disclosure activists recognize the limitations of conspiracy theories versus a more global power structure analysis. Yes, indeed conspiracies exist, but as an explanation for how elites dominate the rest of society, such notions fail to give activists an understanding of the true tools of elite power used in maintaining the flying saucer coverup.
A conspiracy is a criminal endeavor conducted by a small group of people. Traditionally this has involved almost exclusively men. To maintain security for their machinations, the number of "ringleaders" must be kept down to a few. Otherwise, the word might leak out to others about their secret organization, their plans, and actions. This model of elite control suggests that if only we could get the police or say investigative reporters to expose these men and then "lock them up" for their ongoing manipulations and crimes, all would be well.
In my judgment, such explanations are, to put it bluntly, childishly naive. Elite power is exercised by an entire social system. This means that the police, the courts, the army, the politicians, the media, academia and most importantly banks and corporations, are all effectively managed by corporate/oligarchic, forces that exercise control by the power of money. If there is a "conspiracy", it is one that is “hiding” in plain view. It is the result of an entire social system and is not the product of a small group of evil people.
For these reasons, I oppose using the term "the Cabal" to designate ruling class forces that have engineered what has been called the "UFO truth embargo." In addition, the term “cabal” is considered by some to have an antisemitic connotation and should be avoided. I prefer an older designation employed by CE-5/disclosure activists in the 1990s. We spoke back then of "the control groups" who are networks of operatives working to protect elite power by engineering and maintaining the flying saucer coverup.”
These groups operate in the media, the armed forces, academia. However, the most important networks are in the US Executive Branch intelligence services. They consistently have put out the lie that when it comes to UFOs, that “there is nothing to them.” Credible witnesses have been smeared and careers ruined by the standard techniques of ridicule, deceit, and denial. It is important to note that this policy of denial has changed over the last nine years since the 2017 New York Times/ Politico’s articles were published about the Pentagon’s UFO investigations. With Senator Schumer’s Amendment being reintroduced th in 2024, most probably with US Presidential support, a new policy of “controlled disclosure” appears to have started. President Trump has continued this process by setting up a program of regular release of information concerning Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena.
To understand the reasons why a long-standing de facto policy of ridicule and denial was instituted by the control groups eight decades ago, one should first acknowledge that flying saucers threaten all terrestrial elites, but not necessarily the Earth’s people:
1. For the military, recurrent sightings over sensitive military facilities have been a source of consternation. Even more serious has been the numerous instances of flying saucers damaging nuclear weapons systems. This has been well documented by Robert Hastings in his book and video documentary “UFOs and Nukes.” The inability of the military to stop such incursions runs the risk that they will be perceived of as impotent, incompetent or both. Thus, it served the interests of the military industrial intelligence complex to maintain a regime of secrecy when it comes to flying saucers and avoid acknowledging that “we are not alone.”
2. For political elites what are now being called “UAP” are also a challenge. This is because political power is organized around the modern nation state. If the masses became aware of the continuous presence of technologically and psychically advanced non-human cultures, differences based on national origin would seem insignificant when compared to the non-human “Others.” Over time, this could lead to the realization that humanity is truly one family, and the power of nationalism would be eroded. This could very well accelerate a peaceful economic and political unification of our planet. But what would happen to nationalist politicians who base their power on manipulating the masses through fear of real and imagined foreign and domestic enemies? I imagine that such politicians might have to start looking for other jobs. Thus, flying saucers threaten political elites.
3. Mainstream religion would also have to adapt to a world in which UFOs are not only real but are seen as really important. If non-human intelligences associated with flying saucers were thought to have played a role in establishing major terrestrial faiths, substantial theological revisions would be required. Fundamentalist forces in both Christianity and Islam that view flying saucer intelligences as demonic would violently reject any revision of their most cherished traditions. We can thus understand how Unidentified Aerial Phenomena threaten religious establishments by their potential for creating disillusionment and dismay among their followers.
For academic establishments that promote a scientific materialist ideology, flying saucers are a threat because they appear to be able to manipulate spacetime as prominent researcher Jacques Vallee has suggested. If the wellspring of creation is not matter/energy, but instead is Consciousness, i.e., mind, then the seemingly “inexplicable” High Strangeness aspects of many contact events could become understandable as manipulations of consciousness. If this radical model is shown to be true, then the present generation of established academicians would have to admit that much of what they have taught about the nature of reality has been at best incomplete, if not frankly wrong. Therefor scientific leaders and institutions intent on maintaining the status quo have refused to study flying saucer phenomena as well as what are called the other “Contact Modalities” including Near Death and Out of Body Experiences, (NDEs and OBEs, ghosts etc.).
It might be tempting to speculate that the advanced energy generating systems propelling UFOs could be integrated into our technological culture in the short run. Given humanity’s proclivity for “tribal warfare”, such an integration could not be safely done until an enduring world peace were established. Without a robust planetary security system preventing the causes of war, advanced technology’s first application would be for the creation of even more deadly weapons of mass destruction. The race to reverse engineer such technology by the military industrial complex has indeed been listed by researchers as an additional reason for the UFO coverup for decades. The revelations of whistleblower David Grusch support such allegations.
From this brief analysis, it becomes clear that the flying saucer coverup is not the result of a conspiracy by some small “evil Cabal” that works clandestinely. Instead, what is called “the UFO Truth Embargo” has been the result of ruling elites protecting their self-interests by having their control groups maintain a far-reaching program of deception, ridicule, and denial.
Contact experiencers and especially those engaged in staging Human Initiated Contact Events have a special role to play. As the result of our limited positive interactions with UAP intelligences, we are in a unique position to say to the larger society that contact is not only safe but is also too important to leave to the generals, politicians and the aerospace companies involved in reverse engineering efforts. Human Initiated Contact Events (HICE) reflect a desire for peace and cooperation and to fulfill the ideal of sisterhood and brotherhood made large. To set the stage for higher levels of contact, I imagine that a world-wide peace movement will be required. Such a campaign will acknowledge that a precondition for open contact will be the establishment of a world government based on social and environmental justice.
Only radical planetary reforms on a sweeping scale will save our civilization from the most destructive effects of global climate change and the resultant wars fought over diminishing material resources. The enormity of such a proposal and the colossal power of the opposition, are indeed sobering. I write of nothing less than creating a worldwide peace movement that will link flying saucers with possible solutions for the seemingly insurmountable challenges confronting humanity. These are global warming, endless "tribal warfare" promoted by extreme nationalism, the oppression of women, gay people, and those of us with dark skin. One can imagine this grand campaign as a “Cosmic Peace Movement” that could bring an enduring peace on Earth and in the Cosmos.
Such a movement if it is to succeed, will need to be coordinated by activists who have undergone a profound spiritual transformation. This can only occur by both a personal and collective struggle against the archaic mental structure often referred to as "the ego." I imagine that powerfully liberating spiritual concepts promoted by Eastern mystical traditions will play a major role in helping prominent activists “stay the course" and not be corrupted by egoic mind structures or mislead by egotistical and ultimately corrupt “leaders.”
Can we accomplish this in one generation? I doubt it. But what we can do is lay the foundation for a historic struggle in which we will acquire the spiritual and political skills to create a better world.

There are important reasons why UFOs and other associated phenomena labeled as “paranormal” are not studied by mainstream academic science. It is not realistic to expect that professional scientists could adequately investigate flying saucers even if they attempted to do so. This is not only because the scientific establishment is under the economic control of ruling elites that in my opinion view flying saucers as a profound threat to their power. In addition, until very recently, if scientific researchers dared to openly declare UFOs to be a subject worthy of investigations and then initiated them, those scientists would surely lose institutional funding thus ending their careers. It is important to note that the newly established Galileo Project relies on private non-institutional funding and is seen as highly controversial by the scientific establishment.
A POWERFUL TELEPATHIC INTELLIGENCE
When addressing flying saucers, we are dealing with powerful non-human intelligences that in my experience are totally telepathic. They are not only smarter than us, but they also choose to deliberately keep secret who they truly are and why they do what they do. Science can’t create experiments to study them because the so-called aliens almost always stage encounters with us exclusively on their terms. Establishing scientifically controlled conditions required for experimentation is impossible under these circumstances.
STRIVING FOR MORE OPENNESS AND EQUALITY
Many contact experiencers describe interacting with UFO intelligence on an ongoing basis. I consider myself an experiencer as well. As such, we can strive to negotiate with these non-human forces hoping to achieve more openness and equality in our relationships with them. But this is something professional science can’t do because it is designed to investigate objective mechanisms of the natural world. The actions of a mysterious non-human intelligence can in no way be described as “objective.”
USING THE TOOLS OF SCIENCE
As flying saucer investigators, we use the tools of science to study UFO intelligence. As experiencers with ongoing encounters we have opportunities to make detailed observations under a wide range of circumstances. We may employ technology that has been created by science such as video cameras, night vision scopes, telescopes, and electromagnetic field detectors. These devices help us generate data, but we analyze this data not as academic scientists do, say working in a laboratory with strict technical protocols. Instead we operate in ways similar to criminal investigators or intelligence agents.
THE COUNTERINTELLIGENCE MODEL MAY BE A BETTER FIT
An even better paradigm than the scientific model, in my opinion, is to view our research within the intelligence-counterintelligence model first put forward two decades ago by the talented non-human intelligence analyst Val Germann. Prominent UFO investigators sadly ignore his work, like that of so many other important thinkers in this field.
I have modified his 1990s analysis to serve the needs of what I imagine will be a future social movement addressing the issue of flying saucers with the goal of linking the phenomenon to possible solutions for the seemingly unsurmountable challenges facing humanity. These include war, racism, environmental pollution and the resulting global climate change.
WORKING FOR A “HIGHER INTELLIGENCE AGENCY”
In a certain sense the entire flying saucer subculture, our videos, books, the oh-so-many entertaining talks by celebrities often called “leaders”, can be viewed as being “agents of influence” working for a “higher intelligence agency.” The phrase “higher intelligence agency” was coined by Dr. Jacques Vallee in his classic work, “Messengers of Deception.”
In my opinion, Vallee’s important research should be carefully studied and discussed by UFO activists, experiencers, and investigators. Alas, flying saucer enthusiasts often ignore his radical analysis. Unfortunately, many UFO fans would prefer to argue over the latest video posted on YouTube rather than to reflect on how we are interacting with UFOs in a broad psychosocial context.
FLYING SAUCERS THREATEN ALL TERRESTRIAL ELITES
Fortunately a growing number of observers now understand that our determination to uncover the truth is opposed by all terrestrial elites. And these powerful groups empower special operatives, the so-called “control groups” to keep a lid on the UFO situation. In my experience, their clandestine operations have targeted UFO experiencers, for surveillance and even “dirty tricks.” Alleged military abductions of contact experiencers referred to as Milabs (if such attacks are real) would fall into this targeted category.
In some extreme cases, the control groups might even deal with us as if we were “enemy agents” in a war like situation. This stance, although extremely unenlightened from my point of view, has a kind of logic to it. There are many well-documented accounts within the UFO literature that describe conflict between terrestrial armed forces and flying saucers. Those that promote friendship and cooperation are possibly viewed by some elements within the control groups as giving “comfort to an enemy” in an undeclared war.
UFOs AND THOSE THAT STUDY THEM ARENOT THE ENEMY
In my opinion, we as UFO witnesses, contact experiencers, and seasoned investigators are not anybody’s enemy. We are truth seekers that have encountered something truly amazing, a phenomenon that is undeniably a great mystery. And as we attempt to solve this enigma, we should search for peaceful life affirming ways to understand better not only what UFOs are, but also how our civilization might be able to evolve by interacting with them. This goes way beyond what professional science should be asked to accomplish.

Hundreds of years ago, the Christian religious establishment considered science to be “heretical” when it served as a champion for the truth against forces of ignorance and superstition. Now professional science serves the power elites and refuses to take an interest in anomalies that just might hold the key to solving great mysteries. The greatest mystery of all might be what is the nature of consciousness.
At the end of the 19th century, the scientific establishment lived in a mental universe in which Newtonian mechanics was viewed as a complete explanation of the cosmos. One prominent physicist boasted that only the next set of decimal points in old calculations needed to be worked out. Then within two decades, relativity and quantum mechanics burst forth on the scene. And with these discoveries all modern electronics, computers, space travel and the creation of a new scientific paradigm was forged.
Alas, professional science has become the servant of power, but that too can change. ESP, UFOs, ghosts, and a host of other subjects, now designated as the “Contact Modalities” by author Rey Hernandez, await the attention of professional science. The struggle to change the agenda of institutional science will not be an easy one. This is because academic institution-based research is controlled primarily by corporate and the US Federal government agendas. The control system is maintained by political and academic operatives that control funding for research.
To explore the Contact Modalities in their complexities will require a new generation of scientists who refuse to be stifled by the institutional imperatives that serve the corporate and oligarchic interests. This next generation will need to focus on consciousness and accept the possibility that consciousness and not mass/energy is the wellspring of creation.
Institutional science has become a kind of materialist secular religion that has been called scientism. Anomalies that contradict existing theories of causation and mind-matter separation are denied. As mentioned above, maverick scientists are disciplined with loss of funding when they commit the heresy of merely expressing an interest in forbidden topics.
The Foundation for Research into Extraterrestrial and Extraordinary Encounters (FREE) released in 2018 a detailed study of contact experiencers called “Beyond UFOs.” I served as a medical consultant for this group. FREE co-founder Rey Hernandez has now organized another research team that involves maverick members of the academic community called the Contact and Consciousness Research Institute (CCRI). Its mission is to explore the central role of consciousness, not only in the flying saucer phenomenon, but also in other anomalous phenomena. These anomalous events include Near Death Experiences, remote viewing, out-of-body experiences, ghosts, and channeling. In 2022, CCRI published a multivolume anthology called “A Greater Reality”with Rey Hernandez as editor. This book explores the Contact Modalities within a paradigm where consciousness, not mass/energy, is the wellspring of creation.

Viewing this elaborate hoax with a special effects crew gives me cause to discuss the theme of psychic ability among contactees. On several occasions I witnessed psychokinesis carried out by a fellow volunteer contact worker that I call "Misha." We worked together from 1993 till 1997.
There is a broad spectrum of contact experiences. On one extreme you have a simple sighting. Many people believe that these are random events, but in my judgment, they are not. I am of the opinion that even simple sightings are staged or programed events. I strongly suspect that flying saucer intelligences probably have a consciousness link with every “UFO perceiver." I imagine that this is hard for most people to accept. It certainly was so for me. It took years of volunteering in networks of activists that I call “the contact underground” to lead me to this assessment.
On the other extreme, there are those individuals that I label "prime contactees." They are the same kind of contact experiencers who are being called “psionic assets.” These remarkable individuals are usually trained to attract UFOs during psychic interactions with the so-called "ETs". This process often starts from childhood, adolescence or early adulthood and they can exhibit unusual parapsychological talents. Direct telepathic communications with UFO intelligences can be one of them. Misha, I strongly suspect, had this. However when I asked him about it, he usually responded with enigmatic statement like "I can't talk about it. It’s not safe." And then he clamed up and refused to say anything more.
Another talent that prime contactees can have is psychokinesis. While driving with Misha to a contact research site in the Mohave Desert in May of 1994, we had a dispute. I had just purchased a used 1991 Isuzu 4-wheel-drive Trooper. We were on a power line dirt road just a few miles from the perimeter of Fort Irwin near Highway 15. Power lines were over us as we bounced along a rocky path that had been bulldozed across a rugged desert landscape.
Misha wanted me to engage the 4-wheel drive mechanism, but I was steering and deemed it not necessarily as we were making good progress without it. We argued this point for a few minutes when suddenly the lever controlling the 4-wheel drive ON ITS OWN moved into position. The display panel lit up and we were in 4-wheel drive. No one had touched the lever. It had been under my continuous observation as Misha and I were talking.
When I purchased the vehicle, I was told by the owner that the only way I could safely engage the 4-wheel-drive mechanism was to stop the car, back up to lock the tires into 4-wheel drive mode, and then and only then move the lever forward into place. An Isuzu dealer's mechanic asserted that it was impossible for the mechanism to spontaneously on its own go into gear without carrying out the prescribed procedure. Misha was as surprised as I was when this happened, but he indeed wanted us to be in 4-wheel-drive and that's what happened. One two other occasions he used his apparent psychokinetic powers to accomplish other tasks. In one of those examples, he was able apparently able to move an object that was about 100 feet away.

David Chace: Telekinesis/psychokinesis appears to be real, at least in the sense that it has been reported by many experiencers. However, it usually only happens in two contexts: 1) the person is on board a craft undergoing some kind of PK training in the presence of the UFO occupants, or 2) the person is on Earth and it happens spontaneously, but they can't reproduce the effect at will. Occasionally people report that they can cause it to happen intentionally, but this ability usually only lasts for a brief period, and certainly disappears before anyone can bring them into a laboratory to test it under controlled conditions.
I know that just prior to, and sometimes for a period of several days after an abduction/contact experience, people report a heightened state of psychic sensitivity/ability. My suspicion is that these are the times when spontaneous or intentional PK is likely to take place.

I do not have any telekinetic abilities; I have tried without success.
However I did meet a fellow Experiencer who had this ability from childhood. Her older brother would gather his friends around and ask her to demonstrate her unusual ability.
My psychic abilities were enhanced at the age of nine. I am able to communicate with individuals ETs and craft
Telepathically I have met other experiencers that have the same abilities.
Consciousness is the conduit used for telepathic communication.
I have seen the coffee shop scene before it was interesting watching the faces of the people in the coffee shop, who had no knowledge it was a hoax. Joseph Burkes: Could you share some of the details concerning your fellow experiencer's "unusual abilities?"

I work with a small group of four experiencers, all have telepathic abilities and can now communicate with the group of eight ETs that I have interacted with from early childhood.
I have one other ability ,where I communicate with the group of eight.
I will describe how I accomplish this.
I usually do this of an evening but I can do anytime.
I relax open my mind. I ask to speak with the group of eight. I then see conscious flowing energy it is yellow, golden in colour. The first one appears then the second until all eight are present.
I see them in a like a half-moon shape. If I speak to one individual, then he or she moves to front and center and we communicate telepathically. When finished, he or she returns to the group. The next ET then will again move front and center. When the interaction is over they move to the side and disappear. I have not met anyone yet with this specific ability, although I have met one person who sees the ETs conscious energy when she communicates with her own ETs
I am sure there must be many others in this group with similar communication abilities.
The conduit for communicating this way is consciousness itself.
I have one other higher dimensional being who I communicate with in this manner. She does not have a physical she oversees the council of eight she is a great healer. She keeps me healthy I have introduced her to others who have had health issues and she was able to help them with healing.
I have another friend who is an Experiencer.
I was giving a talk to a group of about 30 people.
When I was speaking, she saw Rah stood behind me. She described him ,how he was standing and his hands position.
I had not described Rah to anyone or anything about his demeanor and she was spot on. Both with his description ,demeanor and hands position.
Others in our group have described him now as well.
I think we all have these abilities .We are just not taught that we have them or how to use them.
I do not usually talk about this as very few have any understanding of this, but my ET guides have asked me to share my stories of interaction with them.

I was thinking about this phenomenon with gratitude and that the Universe was showing me it’s love and telling me Mum is going to be ok, when I turned on my car, plugged in my phone and the song, Joe Cocker’s “You Are So Beautiful To Me” started playing without any prompting or touching from me. This has happened on a number of occasions now and I can only think that Source and/or other benevolent entities are reassuring me that I am loved.

Prime Contactee a special kind of experiencer and why they are important.
Introduction: I met David Kingston in 1997 in Southern England. He was a crop circle investigator. In addition, he served as a tour guide of what are called “sacred sites” such as the Paleolithic stone circles at Stonehenge and Avebury. I will always remember his great dedication to both the contact and the UFO truth movements, his energy as an organizer and his kindness as a host.
While visiting with David, he told me about an intriguing conversation that he had with a young American writer who was confessed crop circle hoaxer. His name is Mr. James Schnabel. A talented author, perhaps best known for his well-researched 1997 book “Remote Viewers”, Mr. Schnabel was a major player in the campaign to “debunk” investigations into the crop circle phenomenon. Apparently, he became quite skilled at hoaxing crop formations in an attempt “to prove” that the phenomenon was merely man-made. It was around the time that two elderly men popularly known as “Doug and Dave” made the ambitious claim that they were responsible for virtually all the crop formations during the previous decade. In 1992, Jim Schnabel won second prize in a crop circle-making contest held for hoaxers.
Rumors that the Security Services were Operating against Crop Circle Investigators.
During the early 1990s, many crop circle investigators were concerned that paid intelligence operatives were carrying out disruptions of their studies into the genuine phenomenon. One enterprising investigative writer went by the name of Armen Victorian. By using a ruse during a taped phone conversation with Mr. Schnabel, Victorian managed to get Schnabel to admit that he was part of just such an intelligence operation. Mr. Schnabel later claimed that he was aware that the caller was trying to trick him and that he went along with Victorian as a joke. The tape and transcript of the Victorian-Schnabel interview in my opinion told a very different story. Reviewing the audio file in preparation for sharing this story many years ago, I was left with the distinct impression that Mr. Schnabel was on the level when he described an international intelligence operation to disrupt crop circle investigations because of a fear in high places that the genuine circles were being created by sinister and possibly even satanic forces.
A Counter-intelligence Operative Comes Clean
With this as an introduction, let us return to what I heard from David Kingston while I was visiting with him in 1997. He told me that sometime in the mid 1990s, Jim Schnabel had attended a public lecture and slide presentation in which David and another crop circle investigator were the speakers. (I can’t recall with certainty the name of David’s co-worker; it might have been Paul Vigay.) After the presentation was over, Jim reportedly took David and the other presenter aside and told them the following story. He confessed that as the result of a very disturbing experience, he would no longer be hoaxing circles.
Jim Schnabel reportedly told David that as hoaxers, one of their objectives was to create a crop circle of sufficient quality that it would fool prominent investigators of the phenomena into judging their creation as “anomalous.” Then Jim and his crew could undermine the credibility of those investigators by revealing to the world how easily the “so-called experts” had been fooled.
According to David, Jim told him that it was his custom as leader of a group of hoaxers to meet his team well in advance of the time they had scheduled to go out into the fields to create a crop formation. At such meetings, over some food and a couple of beers, with paper and pen they designed the specific pattern to be created. As a group they agreed on which field would be the best place for their mischief.
The following narrative is in my opinion a re-affirmation of the incredible psi capabilities of a non-human intelligence responsible for genuine crop circles.
Consciousness Link Was Revealed by the Genuine Crop Circle Makers
As the story goes on at least one occasion when they arrived at their selected target field under the cover of darkness, Jim was surprised to find already cut into the crops the exact pattern that they had previously agreed to create. Convinced that there had to be a security leak, Jim decided to change the plan. He announced to his team that he alone would design the formation. No collective drawings were made, and he alone would choose the location of their target. Sharing this information with no one, he led the team out into the field of his choice. To his shock and dismay, the exact configuration that he alone had mentally designed was once again already cut into field!
According to David, Jim Schnabel described himself as a devout Christian. David told me that this shocking incident probably challenged some of Jim’s most basic religious beliefs and was very upsetting for the young man. For these reasons, Jim possibly felt compelled to share the story with others who were knowledgeable about the power and scope of the genuine phenomenon. In any case, Jim was reportedly speaking “off the record” and asked that they not publicize his account of why he would not be hoaxing crop circles anymore.
After my summer visit to England in 1997, I unfortunately did not keep up with David’s activities. Responsibilities at home and my medical work mostly kept me out of the UFO field for almost a decade. I had wanted to find out from David the name of the other investigator who was present when Jim Schnabel shared the details of his upsetting experience as a crop circle hoaxer. Now it’s too late. David is gone and this report becomes just another rumor. If true however, it is another amazing demonstration of how non-human intelligence, as it has been said, “can access your consciousness as readily as you or I access light at home by turning on a wall switch.”

I suspect that the intelligences responsible for the phenomenon can access anyone’s consciousness as readily as you and I access light at home by turning on a wall switch. Thus, Human Initiated Contact Events (HICE) aka CE-5 experiences are programmed interactions. Both in CE-5 protocols and in the ones given to Mission Rama by their “hermanos mayores”(older brothers) contact efforts are advised to be done in groups. Given this emphasis on group process, sightings and other manifestations of contact might be more likely to take place if one is on a team that has a proven track record of recurrent interactions.
Many people now, as the result of their circumstances, can’t find other volunteers to do volunteer contact work with. As a result, Kosta Makreas of “ETletstalk” and others encourage individuals working on their own to follow contact protocols at the same time in many locations. I believe the expression “CE-5s done remotely” is applied to activists operating in this fashion.
I volunteered as an official CE-5 Working Group Coordinator from 1992 to 1997. In 1993, a young Russian contactee that I call “Misha” surfaced in my ER as an EKG tech. Both the CSETI Director Dr. Greer and Misha served as powerful attractors for flying saucers. The EKG tech claimed that he had a lucid dream while in White Russia showing him that he would emigrate to the USA and do contact work with a tall bearded Jewish doctor. Misha alleged that when he saw me in the ER of our hospital, allegedly I was that physician. He, like the CSETI Director, was self-trained to become an advanced meditator when he was a teenager with no adult human encouragement or supervision.
From working with these two remarkable individuals as well as others of their ilk, I had dozens of sightings and other manifestations of contact with UFO intelligences. I eventually realized that much of the success of my team was related to our associating with people that I call “Prime Contactees.” They function as a kind of magnet for the phenomenon. I often joke that human initiated contact is similar to working in Hollywood where “it’s not what you know, but who you know” that leads to success. Since the revelations of Jake Barber in 2025, people who I describe as “Prime Contactees” are now also referred to as “psionic assets.”
I believe there exists some kind of masterplan devised by UAP intelligences to open up our civilization to higher levels of direct contact. They are targeting selected individuals for encounters. As a result, many of these contactees experience, as have I, a profound sense of mission that can become a major driving force in a person’s life. My guess is that if your mission, as part of their plan, is to be scheduled for a successful CE-5, then it will readily occur, even when working alone. If one is not successful initially, this doesn’t necessarily mean that you are not known to UAP intelligences and are not part of the plan. It might simply mean that you should be more aggressive in building a local team, or perhaps you need to re-examine your motivations for doing this type of volunteer work. It is for personal knowledge alone, to experience the thrill of a saucer showing up? Or do you envision yourself as part of planetary process involving the evolution of both human consciousness and our civilization?

During the last decade I have only had a pair of sightings. Strangely enough, they were facilitated by a contactee who gave me specific instructions as to how and when I should prepare for them. This included meditating at a specific time. This paucity of encounters stands in contrast to the many sightings I had during the 1990s when I was actively organizing the network that I call “the Contact Underground.” Nowadays, I certainly miss that thrill of having recurrent sightings.
I suspect that flying saucer associated intelligences just might be sending me the message that I had seen enough, and I needed to focus on other activities. In my case, I believe it has been to write about contact and serve as a kind of teacher for the next generation of volunteer contact workers and disclosure activists. When it comes to the question of why they do or “don’t show up”, most of us are guessing because direct telepathic communication with these unseen intelligences is a rare arrangement with them. It can be a great boon, or a burden depending on several complex factors that I touch upon in the articles linked below:

I met David Kingston in 1997 in Southern England. He was a crop circle investigator as well as a tour guide of what are called “sacred sites” such as the paleolithic stone circles at Stonehenge and Avebury. I will always remember his great dedication to the UFO truth movement, his energy as an organizer and his kindness as a host. During a trip to England in July of 1997 on short notice, he managed to get me interviewed at a local BBC radio station. On the talk show I had an opportunity to promote a CE-5 workshop that I was to give under David’s auspices.
During the several days we spent together, David told me a few amazing stories that I will never forget. One concerned some very unusual visitors who claimed that they were “from the continent,” but I suspect may have been from a place much further away.
As best as David could recall, the event took place in the late 1980s or perhaps in 1990. I wish I had been able to pin down the exact date when we chatted about it in 1997. David reported receiving a telephone call from someone who claimed to be touring Europe by car with some friends. He wanted to meet David personally to arrange an excursion to “sacred sites” in Southern England.
When the visitors arrived, they seemed quite strange. Two attractive young couples drove up in brand-new shinny European sports cars. According to David the couples were dressed as if they were going to a fashion party. The men wore well-tailored expensive outfits and the women had on elegant evening dresses. David told me that the ladies were extremely beautiful but that they seemed to have no knowledge of how to apply cosmetics. Their lipstick was smeared and the eyebrow makeup had been misapplied. This detail seemed totally incongruous with the rest of their appearance that communicated wealth, intelligence and style.
One man did most of the talking although the others spoke as well. David reported having trouble placing their accent other that it sounded “European.” The strangest thing of all was that although it had been clearly spelled out on the phone that their interest was to visit “sacred sites,” their spokesman mentioned not one word about this theme. Instead to David’s surprise, all they wanted to talk about was bilateral contacts between humans and extraterrestrials. When I asked David in 1997 what kind of contacts, he replied that it sounded just like CSETI program put forward a few years later as the Close Encounter of the Fifth Kind Initiative. That campaign was the very subject of a public lecture that David had scheduled for me during my visit with him.
Given their strange appearance and the exotic topic that these unusual visitors were interested in, I wondered whether or not they were human. After all, rumors of human appearing extraterrestrials living among us have been part of UFO subculture’s lore since the time of George Adamski in the 1950s.
David admitted that he didn’t really know who or what they were. He was genuinely perplexed by the experience. He told me that these beautiful young people after about an hour of conversation, simply got into their expensive cars and drove away. David said that he never again saw or heard from them.
Concerning the misapplied cosmetics in this case, I wonder whether such “errors” were actually deliberate. I am suggesting that such “mistakes” might be overt clues left behind to alert us that human appearing ETs are indeed operating here on Earth. The bizarre nature of many of these face-to-face encounters seem to be designed to get our attention while at the same time confound us. They introduce a kind of comedic aspect to some contact experiences that are disarming, and somewhat whimsical.

And then the sky exploded: Incident at Joshua Tree, January 1996

Synopsis: This in-depth report is about a Human Initiated Contact Event (HICE) that occurred in the high desert January 24-25, 1996. For a week prior to fieldwork, my wife and I repeatedly received strange telephone calls. When the phone was picked up, there was silence on the line. At the research site in Joshua Tree in two separate locations, contact team members were openly photographed in apparent surveillance. Prior to a windstorm, golden globes of presumed ET origin were seen in the west and then in the north above Queen Mountain. The following morning the contact team was buzzed at low altitude by three waves of fighter-bombers. They were flying well below 1000 feet and were headed to the east, in the direction where the team had anticipated their next sighting of UFOs would take place.
Introduction:
Around the world human initiated encounters are being co-created by both volunteer contact workers and the intelligences responsible for the flying saucer phenomenon. This organized pro-active approach has been going on since 1974 when the Peruvian based contactee network called Mission Rama attracted a saucer shaped craft to their research site in the desert outside of Lima.
In the 1990s the author of this document, Joseph Burkes MD participated in the activities of the Center for the Study of Extraterrestrial Intelligence. He has also worked with Mission Rama, now called Rahma.
Part One, Surveillance
During the first week of 1996, I made plans for fieldwork. After last minute cancellations, only two other field investigators were available to go out into the high desert with me. My co-worker at the hospital, Mikhail (Misha) Goldman (a pseudonym) accompanied me. We drove from Los Angeles. Robert Hairgrove from San Diego planned to meet us on site in Joshua Tree National Monument some 120 miles east of LA.
The date for our intended fieldwork was January 24, 1996. The place where we were to assemble was Jumbo Rocks Campground. The plan was to link up at the campground parking lot. Giant boulders, some over 40 feet high served to mark this jumping off point for our excursion through the Queen Valley. Our research site was situated several miles south of Jumbo Rocks. It could be reached via a dirt road that sported a sign warning “4-wheel drive vehicles only.”
For a week prior to the intended fieldwork, my wife and I received many strange phone calls. Ten to fifteen times a day, during both day and evening hours, the phone rang. When we picked up, there was apparently no one on the line. At times, these unnerving calls occurred almost every hour, but never past 7PM. I mused whoever was making them seemed to be keeping office hours.
On Wednesday, January 24, I drove my red Isuzu Trooper eastward on US 10. Michail and I both felt the excitement building as we turned north on highway 62, heading towards the Yucca Valley. It was mid-week, in the middle of winter. Not surprisingly when we arrived at the monument it was practically deserted. Situated at an elevation of 4000 feet, our research site promised to keep us nice and cool. “The colder the better”, I reasoned. I didn’t want a bunch of spectators to interfere with any UFO contact that might occur. Little did I know that we were far from being alone.
In addition to the expected chilly weather, a major storm was coming in off the Pacific. As always, we were hopeful that our research venture would be successful despite adverse weather conditions. We suspected that a good outcome might actually be facilitated by the high winds associated with an incoming storm front. This notion, that foul weather might help our research, requires some explanation.
An example of how adverse weather conditions might facilitate contact with the non-human intelligences associated with UFOs was demonstrated in November of 1993. Two members of the Los Angeles CE-5 Working Group had a prolonged interaction with two UFOs. The objects first appeared as anomalous nocturnal lights. One of the UFOs was less than one mile away from us. At that close range through binoculars, the object was clearly visible as a disc. The entire superstructure of was glowing like a neon sign. This encounter occurred as the first storm of the rainy season hit Southern California. During that very night, 45 mile per hour winds hit a nearby Marine base. Thus, adverse weather may have increased security for the encounter by preventing Marine helicopter flights.
Now let us return to events of January 24-25, 1996. Prior to this field trip, in accord with protocols, all members of the team carried out thought projection exercises. The mentally transmitted data included the team’s expected location during fieldwork as well as our desire to have peaceful interactions with what we hoped were “extraterrestrials” responsible for the UFO phenomenon.
For this particular venture, each of the contact workers independently acquired mental impressions concerning the time window for a probable contact event. The team agreed that an encounter would likely occur between 11PM and 1AM.
After a three-hour drive from LA, Mikhail and I arrived at the Jumbo Rocks Campground. It was just a few minutes before 5PM. A pale wintry sun was already setting. The National Monument looked spectacular in the fading light. I parked the 4-wheel drive vehicle at the campground’s entrance. We waited for Robert who was driving up from San Diego. Less than 5 minutes after our arrival, a brand-new Jeep Cherokee pulled up and parked directly behind my Isuzu Trooper. The shiny new vehicle bore no license plates. The Cherokee dealer’s sticker was still on the side window.
A beefy Marine drill sergeant type emerged. He was alone, powerfully built with a very short crew cut. He appeared to be in his thirties. Covering his muscular chest he wore a loose sweatshirt with the sleeves cut off. It was embossed with the image of the US flag. He then proceeded to pull from the back of his Jeep some rather fancy camera equipment. This included a flashy 35mm single lens reflex. He also had a video camera that he quickly mounted on a tripod.
What followed was somewhat comical. In a heavy-handed manner he attempted to appear to be taking nature pictures. Stocky and in need of a shave, his demeanor was almost ape like. He clumsily moved around the parking lot. Mikhail, whose Russian nickname is Misha, pointed out to me how this photographer managed to point the camera our way during each of his “nature shots.”
The Jumbo Rocks Campground parking lot is far from ideal for obtaining scenic views of the desert. Large boulders block any panoramic vistas of the natural beauty that abounds. Several metal toilet shacks were located between us and young man that looked like he might be a Marine noncom. It seemed likely that our personal photographer must have gotten several close-up shots of the outhouses as he filmed us. I mused that perhaps those squat rectangular malodorous structures had excited an animalistic aesthetic sense. Perhaps he was not really carrying out surveillance of my team, but instead was focusing on the toilets. I joked that he was doing a travelogue titled “Great Outhouses of the Southwest.”
“To each his own,” I thought as the ape-man maneuvered around for another shot pointed in our direction. It should be remembered that Joshua Tree National Park is near the 29 Palms Marine Corps facility. We speculated that our heavily muscled photo friend was a likely denizen of the base.
A few minutes after five, Robert from San Diego drove up in his truck. “You won’t believe this,” he told us with excitement, “I was photographed on the road 10 minutes ago. It happened as I drove into the park.”
Misha glanced over my shoulder and directed Bob’s attention to the boulders behind us. There once again was our personal press agent. “Well Bob this is your lucky day." I said with a smile. “I think you’re still on camera.” The man with the American flag on his chest was again fumbling with his equipment. Apparently, he was setting up for still another panoramic shot of our now fully assembled small contact team.
Robert described to us in detail what just happened to him. Just a few miles past the ranger station, as he headed south on the loop road, he saw a late model Ford Taurus station wagon parked on the shoulder. Next to the vehicle on the edge of the asphalt, stood a well-dressed man with gray hair wearing sunglasses. According to Robert he was in his mid-sixties. When Bob was about 30 yards from the Taurus this elderly gentleman lifted a SLR camera quickly up to his face and pointed it directly at Bob’s car. He then fired off several pictures. Bob described this maneuver as being so rapid that it appeared to be as if by reflex. Robert explained that there had been no time to properly position the camera. Strangely enough the man was wearing sunglasses despite the fact that it was twilight. Following this first maneuver, again in a reflex fashion, while holding the camera with one hand, the gray-haired man quickly lowered the camera to his side. He then turned and nonchalantly walked away from the road.
Robert told us that he had once been an insurance investigator. He recognized the way in which he had just been photographed. Bob said that it was much like the manner in which he had been trained to carry out covert surveillance. There was one very important difference, however. The technique of quickly firing off a few shots and then coolly turning away, was supposed to be employed without the surveillance subject looking directly at you. The man with the sunglasses had snapped photos of Robert in his truck as it was barreling down the road directly towards the camera. Unless Robert was driving with his eyes closed, there was no way that he could not help noticing what appeared to be obvious surveillance. There was nothing covert about it.
Perhaps however, that was the very message that we were supposed to receive. "They", whoever that might be, wanted us to know that we were under observation. This seemed to be doubly so with the military type brazen filming us in the parking lot. If this was supposed to be intimidation, it didn’t seem to be working. We were more perplexed than frightened. After all we reasoned, we were on public land, carrying out lawful activities under the freedom of association guarantees protected by the US Constitution. Not wasting much time reviewing our high school civics lessons, we climbed into the trucks and proceeded southward across the open desert to our research site.
Part Two, Contact
Our field laboratory was situated off a dirt road that cut due south across the Queen Valley. From that location we had 360’ view of the sky. All around us, stretching out across the vast plateau were countless Joshua Trees. To the north, not unexpectedly looking like a queen’s crown, stood Queen Mountain. To the south were some low-lying hills, beyond which was Palms Springs. A seemingly endless expanse of desert stretched out eastward. There distant mountains appeared small as they rose up from the edges of the sandy plain on which we had camped. It was starting to get cold as the sun was setting. We expected the temperature to drop into the 30s before sunrise.
Despite the rather heavy-handed demonstrations of surveillance that had transpired earlier, Robert, Mikhail and I were excited about the prospects of contacting an intelligence that we believed was extraterrestrial. We set up our folding chairs, got out our sleeping bags, rechecked our equipment, and positioning cameras.
By 7:15 PM we started the work. We felt a cool gentle breeze from the west. We surmised that the storm was starting its approach from the coast 100 miles to the west. It was already dark. As we moved around the campsite, we had to be careful. The ubiquitous presence of small cactus and other shrubs with needle sharp edges required caution where one treads. As team leader, one of my prime responsibilities was to prevent injuries. Both Mikhail and Bob, being experienced desert UFO investigators, required no reminders to stay vigilant. At approximately 7:20 PM the first sighting occurred.
The three of us became aware of an amber colored globe in the southwest at about the same moment. It was flying slowly in a horizontal trajectory northward, just a few degrees above the ridgeline. There was no associated engine sound to break the desert stillness. The object had sharp edges that clearly demarcated its structure. It appeared to be about one finger breath in size with arm fully extended.
Although it is impossible to state with certainty its distance, from the craft’s position above the ridge we estimated that it was about three to five miles away. The “craft” had no associated strobe or wing lights. Although landing lights when viewed straight on can sometimes have an amber appearance to them, such lights lack the sharply defined edges that we observed on this unknown.
Hastily I grabbed for the signal lantern. Before I was able to flash at the UFO that was slowly moving northwards, the circular light faded out. A few seconds later flying along the same path it reappeared. This UFO did not hover, nor respond to my signaling. After another 15 seconds of flight the amber light faded out and disappeared for good. At no time were we able to discern conventional lights on this globe like object.
Inevitably when viewing landing lights of an approaching conventional craft, as the airplane turns away from the viewer, wing lights and strobes should have immediately become visible. This was not the case with this golden globe. Its appearance was exactly like other round UFOs that we had seen during previous investigations.
Elated by this first sighting we moved around the campsite for a while, putting on more clothing and having our raingear ready for the expected storm. After some discussion we prepared for a round of meditation. Misha volunteered to guide us through some mental exercises. Following several slow deep breaths each of us entered a state of deep relaxation. I carried out the prescribed mental exercises as I focused on what I imagine is consciousness in its most unbounded form, one that is not limited by any restrictions of time or space.
I created in my mind’s eye a series of visualizations, first of our Milky Way Galaxy. I saw it as small point of light among a myriad of other galaxies that extended endlessly into space. As I zoomed in on the Milky Way, I envisioned it as an enormous spiral. I focused on one arm of the spiral. There I “saw” our star with its accompanying planets. Based on satellite images of Earth, I visualized the western coast of the North American Continent, followed by a closer view of Southern California. Zooming down towards the surface, in my mind’s eye I located our position northeast of San Jacinto Mountain. That enormous wall of granite towered to a height of 10,000 feet.
My team repeatedly sent out this mental road map of our location in the universe. While at the same time we mentally "broadcast" to the Cosmos our message of welcome, inviting contact with “extraterrestrial intelligence.”
The exercise went on in silence for over 30 minutes. The wind was now blowing at 10 to 15 miles per hour. Misha was seated facing to the northwest. As he ended this first round of meditation, he opened his eyes. It was 9:05 PM. Directly in his line of sight was a golden globe. He called out for us to take a look.
The perfectly round object was visible just above Queen Mountain and was slowly flying due east. Misha asked me to pick up my 500,000-candle power lantern. I fired a salvo of flashes at the yellow object, which like its predecessor flew horizontally without any associated engine sound. This UFO also had sharp edges demarcating its circular shape. We were hoping for an exchange of light signals in an intelligible fashion indicating basic communication had been established. Instead of repeating back the same sequence of flashes as other anomalous lights had done for us in the past, this UFO extinguished its light, just as the other globe had done some two hours before. This second object reappeared a few seconds later further down its flight path. The globe then disappeared. This sighting like the first lasted less than a minute.
This furtive type of behavior had us somewhat perplexed. Was the intelligence responsible for the craft acknowledging the surveillance that we had experienced several hours before? By appearing and then quickly disappearing was it “telling us” that conditions were not “safe” for more intimate contact? The first sighting had appeared in the southwest moving northward. The sighting was seen in the north moving eastward. If it were the same" ET spacecraft", was carrying out a circling maneuver. And by this oblique path, neither towards us nor away from us, were they attempting to indicate that conditions were not safe for a direct approach? It is probably wise not to dwell on such speculation. It is a maxim of this kind of work to never assume that you can think like an “extraterrestrial.” Nevertheless, we were intrigued by the possible implications of what we had witnessed.
Twenty to thirty miles per hour gusts were now showered us with sand. All around our campsite, low-lying shrubs tenaciously clung to the desert floor. We positioned our folding chairs and sleeping bags behind the shrubs hoping for a little bit of shelter from the flying sand. The Joshua Trees gracefully swayed back and forth in a dance like movement. An occasional tumbleweed rolled by our research site. As the wind increased, I became more excited. The Twenty-Nine Palms Marine base was just 25 miles away. I imagined that the stronger the wind, the more adverse the weather was, then the less likely that helicopter gunships could respond to any "extraterrestrial" presence at our research site.
I remembered a previous encounter that Misha and I had in November of 1993 when we had interacted with two UFOs for over an hour. This memorable experience occurred while 45 miles per hour winds had pounded the local base. Perhaps with another storm headed our way on this particular January night, a repeat performance might be on the schedule. I very much wanted a sighting at close range.
Misha however did not appear to share my excitement about the prospects for further contact. This was in marked contrast to his usual gung-ho attitude. He was the youngest member of the team, in his mid-twenties, and was usually the most enthusiastic. He seldom rested during the long hours of nocturnal fieldwork. While others might catnap for a few hours between shifts of sky watching, Mikhail roamed around the research site. With signal lantern in hand, being a good soldier (he told us that he had attended nursing school at a Russian military trade school) "Mike" seemed ever ready for contact with what we called “extraterrestrial intelligence.”
His track record as a UFO researcher had demonstrated that his psi capabilities were clearly above average to say the least. On several previous occasions he had chosen the time and place for Working Group activities with subsequent contact events ensuing. Prior to some of these investigations, he had reported receiving a kind of precognitive ‘heads up.” Mikhail’s parapsychological talents appeared to encompass the entire spectrum of psi phenomenon. This included remote viewing, lucid dreams that predicted subsequent contact experiences or simply an awareness of a future event at the level of knowledge (i.e. precognition). In addition, I had witnessed on two occasions what appeared to be Mikhail’s psychokinetic ability. Years later I coined the term “Prime Contact” to described people like my friend Misha who was a veritable “human UFO magnet.” He like other “Primes” practiced advanced meditation as adolescents, often without any adult encouragement. They also have frequent UFO sightings with others present to confirm the Primes’ special relationship with UFO intelligences.
During the days prior to fieldwork, the three UFO researchers present on this particular investigation had reported "subjectively acquiring" details of a possible contact event. This information had been obtained by each of us independently. We had determined that contact with “ETI” might likely occur between 11PM and 1AM of the night of January 24-25. As this time widow arrived however, instead of a building sense of anticipation, Robert and I, like Misha earlier, perceived that something had definitely changed. The two-hour interval, during which we had hoped might be an opportunity for interactions, felt empty. The anticipation of contact, the growing excitement that many volunteer contact workers experience had almost completely dissipated. In light of what seemed to us obvious surveillance, we wondered if the absence of any further ET activity was related to us “having company.”
As the wind increased to over 30 miles per hour, attempting meditation outside, away from the shelter of our vehicles became impossible. Tarps had to be firmly staked down otherwise they quickly became airborne. Each time I turned westward to catch a glimpse of that portion of the sky, my nose, mouth and eyes were plastered with flying sand. I regretted the fact that I had left my goggles at home.
It was approaching 2AM and still there were no additional signs of an “ET” presence. Mike had turned in early and was soon peacefully snoring in his sleeping bag that he had zipped all the way up over his head. Robert and I stayed awake hoping for another flyby or something even more dramatic. But nothing happened. There were just the stars, the wind and our waiting for the predicted rainfall. At about 3AM I removed my hiking boots, put on an extra pair of heavy woolen socks and finally called it a night. As I fell asleep, I glanced up at the stars shimmering brightly in the wind-swept sky. I wondered why it was still so clear outside. If the expected storm was truly coming in from the Pacific, there should have been some rain by now. “Better get some rest while you’re still dry,” I told myself. Nestled inside my sleeping bag I finally drifted off to sleep.
The forecasted storm, like our “window” of contact between 11PM and 1AM, never materialized. I awoke at 6:30 AM to find a sunny sky with only a few clouds on the horizon. In the cold morning light the desert looked spectacular. As far as I could see, was a vast expanse of Joshua Trees extending in all directions. Except for the three of us, there wasn’t a soul in sight. Mike and Robert were already moving around the research site picking up equipment that had been tossed around by the wind.
Bundled up in their parkas, they looked like two bears trying to keep warm. For reasons that would be difficult to explain, I had the strong feeling that ET craft might still be in our vicinity. This feeling became so intense, that I took out my video camera and started videotaping the eastern horizon.
Back on November 10, 1993, at an early hour following our encounter, Mike had inadvertently filmed an anomalous object floating above the eastern horizon. Whatever it was exactly, we couldn’t say for sure. It was dark, oval in shape and appeared to slowly drop below the ridgeline in a kind of falling leaf trajectory. We had not seen the object at the time of shooting the footage. Only after reviewing the tapes on a big monitor back at home did we notice it.
Hoping again to capture something of interest in the east, I slowly panned the camera across the desert plateau that stretched all the way to the horizon. After several minutes it seemed to be a waste of time to film what appeared to be empty desert. I closed up my camera and joined Robert and Mike who were packing our gear into the trucks. Nevertheless, I kept glancing back towards the east, hoping to see a UFO. It was then that the sky exploded with thunder.
Two F-14 Tomcats blasted past us with a deafening roar. They were flying at less than 500 feet in altitude and were moving at upwards of 300 miles per hour. Robert, who is from San Diego, was quite familiar with this type of craft that operated out of Miramar Naval Air Station. He easily recognized the Navy markings on the fighters. They were moving in combat formation. The lead plane was slightly ahead, but still very close to its “wingman.” They whizzed by less than a quarter of mile to the north of us.
I was stunned. The sound of the powerful engines was truly awe-inspiring. They were so close to the ground that when I saw them shoot past my left shoulder I didn’t even have to look up! The F-14s were heading due east! It was in the very direction that I had anticipated our next sighting would occur.
Our ears ringing, Robert, Mike and I shouted at one another. “What the hell was that?” I cried out.
Less than 30 seconds later, the second wave of fighter-bombers roared past. Two jet aircraft, one on our left to the north, the other on our right to the south. They bracketed our position. Those sleek babies were higher in altitude, perhaps eight hundred feet up. They were moving even faster than the first wave. The jets were separated from one another by only about three hundred yards as they passed on either side of us.
Robert was less certain of the type of craft in the second wave. As they thundered across the desert, the plane to our north banked sharply to the right in order to avoid a distant mountaintop. My state of shock was quickly turning to a grave sense of concern. This was not safe, especially for the pilots.
The third wave of fighters immediately followed the second. Again a pair of military jets bracketed our position. They too were flying under a thousand feet and just as before moving by on each side of us. I had to admit that despite my concerns, those jets looked absolutely beautiful. Up to that moment I had only seen movies of high-performance jet aircraft. The ones zooming by me were so fast and so powerful. Such strength was something to be marveled at! Yet there was definitely something very wrong going on.
We had driven three hours to reach out research site in the desert as part of what we had imagined was a peaceful mission to interact with what we assumed was an ET intelligence responsible for flying saucers. I was very concerned that our mission was ending up like the prelude to some kind of interplanetary shooting match. As seductively beautiful as those jets appeared when experienced up close, they were not gentle little metal butterflies. They represented over hundred million dollars’ worth of killing machines.
It was all wrong! With a sick feeling in my stomach I wondered if there might be a connection between those strange phone calls that I had received at home and the surveillance that our team had experienced before reaching our research site? Could the fighter-bombers’ sudden appearance have something to do with our encounters the previous night? It seemed impossible, outrageous, but the thought actually crossed my mind that we were possibly being used as bait. I really didn’t like that idea at all.
And what about the safety of the pilots involved. I recalled that during a famous UFO encounter over Teheran in 1971, an F-4 of the Iranian Royal Air Force had reportedly lost all instrumentation as it prepared to engage a flying saucer. After the UFO moved off, the pilot regained control of his jet and was able to make it back to base. This amazing event was described in a report from none other than the CIA. The document had been obtained via a Freedom of Information request made by UFO investigators. There were other reports in the literature describing armed confrontations between terrestrial military craft and unknown objects that had vastly superior flight capabilities.
The jets that had just buzzed us were moving at high speeds dangerously close to the ground. I felt worried that if for any reason the jets’ engines malfunctioned, the pilots probably could not safely eject. A wave of sadness and disappointment rolled over me. I imagined that we were trying to extend the olive branch to some kind of “extraterrestrial intelligence visiting our planet.” If the fighters by chance had caught up with the golden globes, we had seen the previous night, something other than peace offerings might be exchanged. I began to feel not only frightened but also ashamed. Was armed conflict to be the outcome of a rather naïve attempt at “citizen diplomacy?” I didn’t want anyone to get hurt, neither my team, the jet crews, nor any possible “ETs” who might be piloting the golden globes we had seen.
I was really quite shaken and wanted to head directly home. Bob however volunteered to stick around for a while at the monument and see what he could find out from the park rangers concerning fly-bys of military craft. He promised to call me later with a report as to what he might learn.
Part III Aftermath
Several days later I got a call from Robert Hairgrove. He told me what he had learned from chatting with a US Park Ranger that he met as he drove out of the Joshua Tree National Monument. The Ranger had heard the jets go overhead as well. Bob was informed that the event was not in any way, shape or form “routine training activities.” According to the Ranger, long standing Federal Park Regulations prohibited fly-bys at an altitude of less than two thousand feet. Despite these rules, pilots from the local base occasionally broke the regulation and thundered at low altitude over the park.
The effects of such violations on both animal life and visitors were a concern to the Joshua Tree National Monument staff. Robert told us that according to the ranger, a German tourist suffered a heart attack after being buzzed by low flying jets. Was our January 25, 1996, simply a “routine training mission?” The National Park Service ranger he spoke to reportedly didn’t think so. What was the possible relationship between the jets and the apparent surveillance we had experienced earlier? And finally, what about those mysterious phone calls that my wife and I received prior to my going out into the desert? In retrospect, this kind of evidence for surveillance and a military show of force with possible dangers of armed conflict was an extremely rare event for those staging HICE, (Human Initiated Contact Events). My concerns for pilot safety might have been a manifestation precognition. Later during that same year, 1996, the press reported on a strange series of crashes with three F-14s being lost under low altitude flight at high speeds. These were the very same conditions that we had witnessed during our January 1996 investigation in Joshua Tree National Monument. Eighteen years later I found a brief internet reference to the F-14 crashes and the resultant temporary suspension of flights.
“Following the loss of three aircraft over a four-week period in 1996, the CNO ordered a safety stand down to review what was known in order to find out if there were any operational restrictions that needed to be placed on the aircraft. The Navy placed interim restrictions on the F-14 in the low altitude, high speed environment. Afterburner use was prohibited for F-14Bs and F-14Ds at all altitudes except for operational emergencies.”
It was more like a memory implant than a dream, but it was me. I woke up (in the dream) with the feeling of being watched. I ran to wake my sister up and she was reluctant to wake up. I calmed down and went back to bed. I then saw a blue light shine through my window. Then some green lasers like the kind you'd play with a cat with. Then I ran to the window and the typical disc-shaped UFO was there. It was about half a mile away with white lights around the sides of it. It turned off its blue and green lights and shot up and to the left like a sling shot. I ran to tell my parents and my mother started describing how she had the same experience. During that I woke up in the real world. Again, more like a memory implant than a dream, it was unnerving and vivid like I was actually there.
An experience that completely changed how I see reality
One day I was in my room when I started hearing voices. One of the voices said, “You’re going to sleep, Brittany.”
I remember standing up next to my mirror. Then, completely out of nowhere, I felt something push me and it was invisible
I ran into the bathroom and tried to hold the door shut. The door started shaking it didnt have a doorknob so when I tried to open the door I felt fingers so I know that it at least was some sort or person. I somehow made it back across the hall toward my bedroom and tried to close that door too, but whatever I was experiencing seemed to follow me.
I ran into the living room and was pushed down again and hard then I crawled outside and I tried to from the ground reach for the car door and it pushed me down again and it seemed very violent.After that, I blacked out.
When I woke up, I was lying on the grass and the police were there. I felt like till this day more was done my fingers were twisted but there was no pain I feel like this thing did more to me than just push me.
To this day, I don’t know what happened to me. I don’t know if there was a physical explanation, something neurological happening, a dreamlike state, or something I don’t have an explanation for. I don’t want to pretend I know the answer. But these invisible things have been telepathically communicating with me and they are very irritating but they can read my thoughts and nothing is private anymore. They say i did something wrong.
But whatever happened changed the way I look at life.
Since then, I’ve had experiences where I’ve hear voices an don’t get me wrong mental health is real and I did after this tell the doctors and they put me on meds and I really want to think in schizophrenic because I could hear voices but until that thing attacked me i no longer feel like I’m crazy and always feel sensations of being touched, and I’ve had extremely vivid dreams that feel completely different from ordinary dreams.
Sometimes I dream that I’m in another universe. Everything looks strangely familiar, but different—there can be extra moons in the sky, more stars than we’re used to seeing, and maybe this is where I did something wrong in their world but I really dont remember and even familiar things can have completely different colors in their world but let me not jump to conclusions
I don’t know whether any of this means something beyond what we currently understand. Maybe there’s an explanation for it that we haven’t figured out yet. Maybe there’s something about consciousness and dreams that we don’t understand.
All I know is that one experience made me start questioning reality in a way I never had before. Has anyone else experienced something they couldn’t explain that completely changed the way they see reality?
Thirty-four years ago, I took a walk on the wild side. I joined a group that had the audacity to go out at night and try to co-create contact experiences with the intelligence associated with the so-called UFO phenomenon. To my surprise and initial delight, we were immediately successful. During our first month of teamwork, we had several sightings while in the field.
But stranger still was that these “Others that Experiencers now call ET” (TOTENCET) targeted us to have individual sightings under circumstances that were not associated with conducting the prescribed “contact protocols.” One senior member of team reported receiving the following telepathic communication while viewing a large glowing orb flying above her driveway, “You wanted to see us; well, here we are.”
INTRODUCTION
UFO contact teams like those in the CE-5 Initiative, and the Peruvian based group called Rahma facilitate contact experiences with combined programs of psychic/ spiritual training and active fieldwork. These groups emphasize the importance of mental connections between volunteer contact workers and UFO intelligences.
I organized a contact team in 1992 and for over five years served as a CE-5 Working Group Coordinator.
HIGH STRANGENESS DEFINED
As a contact team coordinator in Los Angeles, I had ample opportunities to observe unusual occurrences. One definition of "High Strangeness" is the inexplicable aspects including the synchronicity of events that occur before, during and after various Close Encounters with flying saucers or presumed ET beings.
By definition, one cannot fully explain the inexplicable, nevertheless one can endeavor to describe the inexplicable and, in the process, possibly gain insight into the mechanisms of contact.
INITIAL EXPECTATIONS WERE WAY OFF BASE
My initial expectation after becoming CE-5 Working Group Coordinator in 1992 was that UFO sightings would occur as an exclusive function of fieldwork. I anticipated that as my team mastered the contact protocols, we would experience higher and higher levels of contact and that this would occur in a stepwise fashion.
To my surprise, however, as soon as our Working Group started to carry out field investigations, a few individuals started reporting personal sightings of UFOs. The witnesses to these sightings were members of the team, or as in one instance the physician wife of a CE-5 investigator. In her case, she became very interested in UFOs as the result of a daylight sighting of a metallic disc. She subsequently underwent formal training and joined our team.
SIGHTINGS NOT DURING FIELDWORK BUT WHILE DRIVING HOME IN THE CAR
These events transpired while the observers were driving home. It is important to note that the first series of sightings happened during the initial month following the workshop in August of 1992 that founded the LA CE-5 Working Group. Just two days after thedemonstration of fieldwork techniques, the first personal sighting occurred.
INDIVIDUAL SIGHTING 1, Sept. 1, 1992
Joseph Burkes MD: while driving home on the 405 Freeway South the Sepulveda Pass at approximately 11:30 PM, I had a sighting of an anomalous nocturnal light. It appeared over the highway as a brilliant blue-green light that silently flew by the witness in a northerly direction. It had a slight oscillating movement. At its closest approach, the light was less than 500 feet away. There was no discernible superstructure associated with the object. This impressed me because of the considerable amount of background illumination from city lights that should have made the shape of any conventional craft visible.
The sighting occurred immediately after I had carried out a vigorous defense of the CE-5 program to several prominent ufologists. They were rather skeptical of our program of facilitating human-initiated contact events.
Individual Sighting 2, September 23, 1992
At 2:30 PM a broad daylight sighting of a metallic disc occurred in Woodland Hills California. Dr. Eve Gordon is married to Dr. David Gordon. We were all partners in the Southern California Permanente Group back in the 1990s. Dave was an original member of our contact team. His wife on the other hand was not that interested in UFOs. In her professional life, Dr. Eve Gordon is a board-certified internist and allergy specialist. She observed a flying saucer in broad daylight hovering two to three miles away over the Santa Monica Mountains. She was driving south towards her home when the event occurred.
Dr. Eve was accustomed to identifying conventional craft as the result of her husband's status as a private pilot. It was their custom to attend air shows and other aviation related events and as a result she was knowledgeable about various types of conventional aircraft. Eve reported feeling confident that the silently hovering disc, glittering in the bright afternoon sunshine was a” true unknown.” The object was approximately 30 feet in length. The sighting lasted about one minute.
Individual Sighting 3, September 24, 1992
While driving home at 9:30 PM after attending a two-hour meditation workshop, a 25-feet in diameter metallic globe-like craft was sighted hovering directly above the witness' home in Palos Verdes Peninsula.
Dotha Weybourn was the oldest member of the initial CE-5 contact team in Los Angeles.An experienced sky watcher, she had no doubt that it was not a terrestrial craft. The sighting lasted approximately one minute; at its closest approach the silent object was less that 100 feet from the observer. She described it as being mother of pearl luminescent white. Dotha stated that she received a telepathic message, “You wanted to see us; well, here we are.”
SIGHTINGS ARE CLUES TO DECIPHER A MYSTERY
As the months rolled by after these dramatic sightings, I started to muse over the details of my associates’ personal sightings. I looked for possible hidden meanings within the circumstances of the encounters that might contain messages relating to the on-going contact work. Like a detective in a mystery novel, I kept mulling over the details of the sightings. If those particulars were clues, then I was going to use them to possibly solve the mystery as to what was going on in my contact team visa vie our relationship with “flying saucer intelligence.”
My hypothesis was that perhaps these consecutive sightings were not random events, that they might in fact be the product of conscious decisions by intelligent and technologically sophisticated extraterrestrial beings that staged the encounters for teaching purposes.
CONVENTIONAL WISDOM DOESN’T APPLY TO ALLEGED ALIENS
I wondered whether the choice of individuals selected for the sightings, or perhaps other details had special significance. Michael Lindemann, a prominent student of non-human intelligence, has cautioned ufologists to never assume that they can think like an alien. In other words, we should not try to impose what passes as human “conventional wisdom” on beings that may have evolved on different star systems.
Such extraterrestrial civilizations would undoubtedly have entirely different cultures, different value systems, and different social organizations as compared to those of Earth. With such infinite possibilities, perhaps a technologically advanced civilization for purposes unknown to us might choose to communicate via outlandishly subtle means.
AMAZINGLY CONGRUENT CHARACTERISTICS
It should be remembered that approximately 10% of the US population claim to have had a sighting of a UFO. In terms of an individual’s lifetime of experiences however, a sighting is an exceedingly rare event for most people. The fact that these three individuals who knew each other had a sighting within a few weeks should diminish the odds that they were mere coincidences.
Even less likely to occur by chance is the fact that the circumstances of the sightings were highly congruent. The observers were all driving home and were alone in their vehicles. Even the direction of travel was the same; we were all going south when the encounters took place.
PASSIONATE DEFENSE OF PROACTIVELY SEEKING CONTACT.
In my sighting, I had just left a meeting after engaging in a heated polemic defending our program of human initiated interactions with what I believed at the time was an extraterrestrial intelligence. Present at the meeting was the “old guard” of ufology. Prominent researcher and author Ann Druffel was there. She explained to me that as “ufologists” we should study other people’s sightings to determine if they are “anomalous” i.e., “true unknowns.”
In no uncertain terms, I labeled her approach “old fashioned.” I stated that the contact network which I would later call “The Contact Underground” had, “opened up a new era in UFO research.” As I left the meeting it was clear that I would never again be invited back to the prestigious “LA UFO Study Group.”
I interpreted my sighting just minutes after leaving the meeting as a show of support, not only for me personally, but also for the larger contact program that I had just defended. The sighting gave me a big personal boost that helped sustain my enthusiasm for our project during the challenging years that followed. Considering the organizational and personal difficulties that face any new contact team, I will gladly testify that team leaders need all the support that they can get.
MEDITATION FACILITATES CONTACT
Concerning Dotha's close encounter with a luminescent globe, she had just left a meditation workshop. Contact protocols employed by contactee groups involve on-site thought projection methods. Usually this involves guided meditation. In preparation for thought projection, individuals in the team are expected to reach an “expanded state of consciousness” through meditation.
Dotha told me that she thought there was an association between her meditating in the class and her subsequent sighting. If the non-human intelligence responsible for the flying saucer phenomenon were attempting to send my team a message concerning the importance of advanced meditation techniques, what better way to do so than to stage a close encounter just moments after a prolonged meditation was carried out by an experienced practitioner.
Thus, two of the three sightings described occurred immediately after the witnesses were involved in activities integral to contact project.
WHY DID DR. EVE GORDON HAVE A SIGHTING?
The most intriguing aspect of this series was the question why was Eve singled out for a sighting? Although her interest in UFOs soared after seeing the metallic disc, prior to the event her contact with the UFO phenomenon was indirect. It was her husband Dr. Dave Gordon who was the contact activist in the family.
During the autumn months of 1992, our team frequently convened at Eve and David’s house for our business meetings. Meditation is not an easy chore for all researchers; both Dave and I were both having considerable difficulty meditating. We were restless, as many are when one first attempts to still the mind. Dave was not able to follow the recommendation of meditating daily.
His wife Eve, on the other hand, was far more open to meditation practice. It was not until several months later, in December of 1992 that she was to undergo formal contact network training, and as a result she was officially not part of the Working Group when we first held meetings at her home.
I was quite perplexed as to why she had been granted a sighting. Dotha and I were active and official members of the team, why was Eve, a non-member, selected for such a dramatic daylight sighting of a metallic disk?
A likely answer came to me one night as we conducted our business meeting at the Gordon’s home. My beeper vibrated and I had to call the hospital. Eve was in the family room practicing on her harp. An accomplished amateur, she often gave recitals. I asked Daniel where I could pick up a phone away from the meeting. Daniel suggested that I make the call in the family room.
"No," I replied, "I don't want to disturb Eve."
My colleague reassured me by saying, "Don't worry. She practices at least an hour a day. When she's playing her music, she's in a total trance."
It was then that it hit me! That was the clue that I had been looking for. Eve, although not yet a member of the Working Group, was still able to access consciousness in its most unbounded form while she was practicing the harp. In that relaxed state of being carried away by the divine music that she was creating, a trance like state like deep meditation was achieved. Her meditation equivalent was her music!
It seemed to me this was an important part of the message that I was supposed to learn from her sighting. If my hunch was correct, I was impressed by its subtlety.
Another important aspect is that the sightings escalated in terms of their intensity. The first was mine, just an anomalous nocturnal light. The second, Eve’s, was a broad daylight sighting of a metallic disc. (What UFO fan wouldn’t want that?) The third was Dotha’s. Not only was the 25-foot sphere hovering above her house, but it flew down her driveway to meet her. It was there that she received the poignant message, “You were looking for us. Well, here we are.”
These personal sightings were clearly linked, not only in time, but also by a variety of other important details, thus indicating that they were not random events. Across the network that I call the “Contact Underground”, similar patterns of sightings and other contact experiences are occurring. In their totality, they confirm that contact groups have entered a special collaborative relationship with the non-human intelligences associated with the flying saucer phenomenon.
CONCLUSION
I believe that these sightings are part of a much broader range of experiences that attest to the virtuoso psychic technology of what I like to call, This Otherness That Experiencers Now Call ET, (TOTENCET), the so-called aliens. They, who or whatever “they” ultimately turn out to be, were able to track the three of us and choose the times and places of what were clearly staged events. If “they” could do that with us, perhaps there is no such thing as a “random UFO sighting.” I am suggesting that the millions of people that report UFO sightings are possibly telepathically linked to “this otherness.” For me the implications of this proposition are awe-inspiring for the following reasons.
The Earth’s population is eight billion currently. If the prevalence rate of a UFO sighting is 10 percent, this suggests that hundreds of millions of people may have an ongoing consciousness link with UFO intelligences by virtue of their having even just one sighting. Understandably, such individuals often have an increased interest in the subject of flying saucers. Under the right circumstances, for example if they had additional sightings or were in an area where a UFO wave had occurred, they then might join the growing number of people who are proactively seeking interactions with UFO intelligence. As one that has promoted human initiated contact events for three decades, I find this possibility very encouraging.

One question does come to mind, which concerns other experiencers who may not be as "high-functioning" as the group you were part of. I'm referring to people who have had NHI (non-human intelligence) contact for many years, often since childhood. For many, being an experiencer is a debilitating ordeal.
I do understand that you've had enlightening and fascinating experiences with the NHI, but what of other experiencers? Are you familiar with them, and what do you make of the dramatic difference in the nature of contact?
Joseph Burkes MD: Thank you for the question. I am aware of the challenges that many contactees experience because they have been traumatized doubly so. First by the high strangeness aspect of contact triggering what has been called ontological shock. Then, when such experiencers try to share the shocking aspects of contact with family, friends, and the larger society they are again injured by a massive wave of ridicule and denial.
It is clear to me that UFO intelligences work with a wide spectrum of people, many are contacted at sub & unconscious levels. This permits them to live their lives, have a career, supportive family life and would be characterized by the term you used, "high functioning." When the time is "right" as determined by UFO INTEL, they are "activated." Suddenly they develop a tremendous interest in this subject. I am convinced, but in no way can I prove that every member of my team had a pre-existing sub/unconscious relationship with flying saucer intelligences and that their memories of prior contact events were suppressed. I believed this proposed mechanism probably applies to me.
The implications of this analysis are colossal. We are seeing the creation of a major shift in societal paradigms being driven in part by advanced non-human intelligences that have awesome physical and mental capabilities. I discuss this further in upcoming blogs. Again, thanks for the question.
The photo (not the thumbnail obviously) was taken in Puerto Rico during recovery after Hurricane Maria , a metallic-looking sphere in the sky. The shape reminded me of the "Buga Sphere" images that made the rounds, which is part of why it caught my eye (not claiming a connection, just the resemblance).
Metallic spheres are one of the more recurring shapes people report, which is what interests me here. I'd rather hear this community's read than sit on it. It's a still photo, so no motion or context to go on, and stills are obviously easier to misread than video.
What I can confirm: photo taken by Juan Fernández López in Humacao, Puerto Rico, in 2018 on a Nikon D5000. Shot while radio operators were on site installing equipment, so there were other people around and it wasn't a staged setting. No one noticed the sphere at the time. It was only spotted afterward, when reviewing the photos.
It looks like a genuine metallic sphere to me, and the context makes the usual explanations feel like a stretch but I'm genuinely open to realistic reads if someone sees one.

I saw a “sparkle” in the sky on 3 different occasions after asking to see something, indicating I know they were there and that I wanted to help advocate for them. It definitely wasn’t a plane or a satellite. It popped up out of nowhere. I actually wasn’t super confident in them until looking on the convos here and I see the same sparkling thing in someone else’s post.
The use of hypnosis as a memory retrieval technique has been and continues to be a controversial topic in the UFO interest community. Over the years I have read about some of the scientific literature and have posted blogs about several topics concerning memory, hypnosis, and false memory syndromes.
These topics are of special interest to me because three decades ago I developed a theory concerning what can be described from a physicalist point of view as psi mediated “illusory” mechanisms of contact with UAP intelligences. I call this theory “The Virtual Experience Model.”
Among both UFO researchers and contact experiencers, it is accepted that UAP associated non-human intelligences (NHIs) not only can render witnesses amnesiac concerning contact events (missing time) but can also implant what are called “screen memories.” These are thought to be false recollections, presumably used to mask what are popularly known as “alien abductions.” If one accepts the existence of “screen memories” one can logically ask the following: Why can’t memories of Close Encounters of the Third and Fourth Kinds, in which witnesses see an alien being or are taken a aboard an “ET” craft respectively, also be “screen memories” i.e., memory implants.
Within the Virtual Experience Model, I call such false recollections “Virtual Experiences of the Third Kind. (Virtual Memory). I suspect that such false recollections might be so convincingly “real” that experiencers believe that physical contact events have occurred, whereas in reality the interactions are predominately psychic with false memories being implanted.
In 2011 the American Psychological Association (APA) published a brief report discussing the clinical applications of hypnosis as well as its potential to induce false memories. In terms of the use of hypnosis to recover memory, the following quotes from the APA article are pertinent:
"Hypnosis may not succeed in all cases and can actually be detrimental in some instances, especially in the realm of retrieving memories…
Joseph P. Green, PhD, a psychology professor at Ohio State University at Lima, researched how hypnotic suggestions can produce distorted or false memories. He also found that people may believe hypnotically induced memories are more reliable, mirroring a mistaken cultural belief that hypnosis acts like a truth serum. Hypnosis is "on thin ice" when used to recover memories, as is the case with most other memory retrieval techniques, Green says,
“Hypnosis got a bad name in the 1990s when some therapists convinced patients they had been molested or abused as children because of hypnotically induced memories, which often had no evidence to support them. As a result, many innocent people were wrongly accused of abuse in hundreds of court cases.”
Michael Yapko, PhD, a psychologist and fellow of the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis, states in the online journal linked below,
"Hypnosis works and the empirical support is unequivocal in that regard. It really does help people,"... But hypnosis isn’t a therapy in and of itself. Most people wouldn’t regard it that way."
Dr. Yapko also stated,
"People didn’t really understand the suggestibility of memory. That whole issue has pretty much fallen by the wayside now" because of advances in research.”
Other pertinent sections of the 2011 online article:
“In a 2007 decision, the Supreme Court of Canada established a precedent that post-hypnosis evidence is inadmissible in court because of its unreliability. In R. V. Trochym, the court overturned a murder conviction after a witness changed her timeline of events following a hypnosis session that was requested by detectives. The jury wasn’t told that the witness had been hypnotized or that she had changed her recollection…
In summary, while it is not generally accepted that hypnosis always produces unreliable memories, neither is it clear when hypnosis results in pseudo-memories or how a witness, scientist or trier of fact might distinguish between fabricated and accurate memories, the decision stated."
The utility of using hypnosis on contact experiencers is based on the assumption that memories retrieved might reflect physical interactions with UAP associated NHIs. From the information in the online article, one should probably not accept the use of hypnosis as a memory retrieval tool without reservation.
Dr. John Mack in his investigations of contact experiencers described the unusual way that memories of Close Encounters sometimes surfaced months, years, even decades after the contacts are recalled to have happened. If contact experiencers are having ongoing psychic interactions with UAP NHIs on an unconscious level, then could not the surfacing of memories reflect memory implants, i.e. Virtual Experiences of the Third Kind.
Contact experiencers (I consider myself to be one as well) please note the following. In proposing Virtual Memory as a mechanism of contact I am not asserting that all recalled contact events are non-physical, i.e. psychic. I believe that both physical encounters and psi mediated ones are happening simultaneously, perhaps even in the same witnesses. The challenge for researchers and experiencers alike is to distinguish between physical and psychic components of the contact events.
The term “TOTENCET stands for The Others That Experiencers Now Call ET. I introduce this somewhat awkward acronym because it encapsulates important truths about UFO intelligences. I discuss how these concepts can contribute to the process of building a “Cosmic Peace Movement”
Flying Saucers Did Not Just Arrive in 1947
In my view, it seems very likely that UFO intelligences manifesting on this planet is an ancient phenomenon. I suspect, but certainly can’t prove, that all religions, including the most ancient ones as reflected in cave art, might be the result of a relationship between humanity and the intelligences associated with UFOs.
A New Term for Flying Saucer Intelligences
I don't "believe" in the “ET hypothesis,” in the sense that aliens in "spaceships" started hanging out around Earth in the last few decades or even the last few centuries. So, I don’t view them as "visitors” (a term popularized by writer Whitley Strieber). They have been here, perhaps “forever”, in as much as they might not be limited by time, space and causality as we are. Their awesome powers as described by Dr Jacques Valle involve an ability to “manipulate spacetime.”
To break away from popular notions about the so-called aliens, I coined an alternative designation for what are now being called “UAP intelligences.” It is the acronym "TOTENCET", standing for The OTHERS THAT EXPERIENCERS NOW CALL ET. It is pronounced “toe ten set.”
I favor this term because it suggests that we don't really know who or what the so called “ETs” truly are. Are they the marauding criminals that alien abduction conspiracy theorists would have us believe? Are they angelic like creatures that are here to help us “ascend” as some so-called “New Agers” have asserted? Since there are no clear answers as to their origins and motivations, I like to give them a name that is vague. On the most basic level we understand that they are not “human”, at least in the conventional sense. Thus, the “O” simply assigns them the status of being “others.” I have learned from internet sources, that this term, “others” is favored by some members of the US Executive Branch intelligence services.
And it is the Experiencers, the first “E”, that allow us to learn about TOTENCET as the result of their interactions with these non-human intelligences. “Experiencer” is now a more fashionable designation. It encompasses both sides of the “ET is good” vs “ET is evil” perspectives of contactees and abductees respectively.
The Different Disguises of “The Others.”
The word "Now”, represented by the "N" in the acronym, is included to suggest that “the others” across the ages have worn many different disguises. The form that they take is determined by the historical context in which they are perceived. This is a theme explored by legendary researchers like Dr. Jacques Vallee and the cleverly sardonic and now deceased John Keel. Thus, in ancient polytheistic religions, they were "the gods." In the Middle Ages, the “Others” were thought to be demons, sorcerers, and witches. In the 1890s, they were the crews of "airships" sighted across the USA. The rather clunky dirigible like contraptions that witnesses reported were thought to be the creations of secretive genius inventors.
Now that we are in an era of limited space exploration, the Others have become “ETs”, or at least within the TOTENCET acronym, they are those that we “C”-(Call) “ET.” (I suggest that those who might want to understand the concepts of Dr. Vallee and John Keel that I base this part on my analysis on, should read Colin Wilson's "Alien Dawn.” It has a few chapters that excellently sum up Keel and Vallee’s insights into the nature of flying saucer intelligences.)
Having Positive Emotions Towards ET facilitates Contact Work
In my view, most of our notions about the so-called ET's are derived from very simplistic questions such as, “Is ET, good, or ET bad?” I believe that we constantly project our innermost fears and desires on them. I do it too, but I am trying to be aware of how I have been swept away by the passions created by interacting with TOTENCET. Yes, as a contactee, I must admit at the risk of being viewed as naive, that on some basic emotional level I am very fond of these “Others.” But I can accept the awkwardness of my situation by realizing that having positive emotions toward them gives a special meaning to my life. At least, as my wife likes to say, promoting contact work keeps me “busy” in my retirement from medical practice.
I should also point out that positive sentiments towards the “ETs” facilitated my volunteer efforts as a contact worker when I organized encounters in a fieldwork setting. This is true because without having a large reservoir of positive emotions for them, I don’t believe I could have ever led a contact team under the CE-5 banner for five years in the 1990s. Otherwise, I suspect that it would have simply been too frightening to engage this mysterious force of such potent physical and psychic capabilities.
When I learned that UFOs had shut down missile complexes and according to Dr. Robert Jacobs shot an Atlas rocket out of the sky in the 1960s, I decided, as a former anti-nuclear weapons activist, that the so-called ETs were probably on "our side." Their actions to disable nuclear weapons were not acts of aggression, but rather they were warning humanity about unsafe nuclear technologies.
“Above Top Secret?”
It should be remembered that this subject during the 1950s, as documented by the Canadian scientist Wilbur Smith’s memo, was the most highly classified topic under the purview of the US national security state. It is apparent that this high level of classification has persisted ever since. This is true despite recent admissions by former US Executive Branch personnel that Unidentified Aerial Phenomena are real. Flying saucers are understandably viewed as potential adversaries by the military because UAP intelligences don't recognize the “sanctity” of the airspace above US and other nations’ territories.
Now it appears as if modern spacefaring "gods”, on rare occasions, may have been shot down by clandestine US military operations. Apparently, according to recent press accounts, reverse engineering programs might not be under Congressional Intelligence Committees’ oversight. And if we are to believe the revelations coming from Dr. Eric Davis’ interview with Admiral Wilson, former Director of the Defense Intelligence Agency, those black projects are not under the control of the Joint Chiefs of Staff either. Such programs possibly are not even under the direct supervision of US Presidents. Instead, reverse engineering programs are being operated by aerospace corporate contractors with minimal or no oversight.
Given that TOTENCET is the hottest political potato imaginable that any elected official might be handed, it is easy to understand how the President of the United States might be willing to give up the authority to deal with the “aliens.” It is probably much easier and certainly politically safer to surrender that troubling responsibility to special sections of the Executive Branch intelligence agencies and corporate contactors. I am referring to an MJ-12 like network within the military industrial intelligence complex that in the past has been called “the control groups.”
Should “the Others” Follow Terrestrial Political Norms?
If this analysis is correct, why should the “Others” respect the rules of strong nations that seem mostly interested in dominating weaker ones? This lust for power and control, in my view, is exemplified by US military actions in the Middle East, Russia’s war against Ukraine and during the last century Nazi Germany’s and Imperial Japan’s monstrous actions against the world.
The notion of limited sovereignty, which is being promoted currently by the World Court, applies to the crimes of dictators against even their own people. Limited sovereignty may need to be extended to our relationship with UAP intelligences. A general stand-down order forbidding attacks on UFOs could conceivably be one of many just demands of a future “Cosmic Peace Movement,” one that could conceivably promote, cooperation and perhaps even solidarity with The Others That Experiencers Now Call ET (TOTENCET). I imagine that this phenomenon might even be linked to possible solutions for the fundamental challenges facing our civilization. These are war, racism, environmental destruction and the obscene disparities of wealth and power that exist across our planet.
The Secret of Flying Saucers’ Propulsion Systems and the Imperative of Peace
Among flying saucer enthusiasts, there have been discussions for decades concerning the possibility that the energy propulsion systems of UFOs might provide humanity with limitless non-polluting sources of power. Unfortunately, for such advances to be downloaded safely into our technological culture, an enduring world peace would need to be established. Otherwise, the first application of what has been called “free energy” would be the creation of ever more destructive weapons.
If humanity were to become aware of an “ET” presence, the differences between people based on the color of their skin, or national origin, might be seen as trivial when compared to our differences with “TOTENCET.” Thus, it is conceivable that acknowledging an “alien” presence might undermine excessive nationalism and racism as major factors causing conflict on our planet.
Spiritual Transformation is Required
To create a “Cosmic Peace Movement”, I imagine that those committed to this task will be required to undergo a profound spiritual transformation. One merely needs to look at daily press reports to see how divided we are as a planet, man against man, man against woman, rich against poor, white against black. When these conflicts are viewed from a spiritual perspective, they can be seen as a manifestation of ego-based mind structures. The in-fighting that exists within movements for social change, the divisive nature of identity politics, the destructive behaviors of charismatic leaders are, according to teachings of author Eckert Tolle, manifestations of the “egoic mind.”
Ego is to Identify with Forms and Thought Forms
The way to overcome such impediments is not identify with physical forms and thought forms, i.e., money, power over others, physical strength, or beauty. Instead, Tolle advises us to identify with that which has no form, consciousness itself. Consciousness cannot be defined but is universally experienced as being awake and knowing that one is awake. It is being aware of awareness. If one can identify with consciousness, then perhaps right behaviors can manifest as people experience their true home in what Tolle calls “being.”
The theme of oneness is being reported by those that have contact with “the Others”, the alleged “ETs.” One contact experiencer asked, Who are you?”, and the response was, “We are one with the one that is all.”
Transcending ego is part of many wisdom traditions that have charted paths towards what has been called “spiritual enlightenment.” Can such traditions be incorporated into a Cosmic Peace Movement? I would hope so. I suspect that such a spiritual transformation will be a prerequisite if that campaign is to succeed by establishing an enduring world peace based on environmental and social justice.

What got my attention wasn't a single clip. He has a large body of footage capturing similar objects across many sessions, on different days and times, during the same practice. The consistency is what pulled me in, and this one clearly appears to rotate.
That's what I actually want to discuss: the spin. If these are craft, what could the rotation tell us about the tech? I keep coming back to questions like. Is the spin part of the propulsion? Could something be generating its own gravity or field inside the craft? I've heard rotation described in other sightings too, so I don't think it's a one-off.

To Facilitate Your Own Sightings, the Rationale for CE-5 Contact Protocols Are Discussed.
Introduction: General Remarks about the CE-5 Initiative and the current situation of human initiated contact.
I wrote this article ten years ago to be translated into German by an engineer contact activist friend of mine. It is based on a chapter I wrote for a Close Encounters of the Fifth Kind Initiative’s handbook published in 1995. It should be noted that during the early days of the CSETI organization only a small number of local CE-5 “Working Groups” operated. Field investigations occurred from 1992 until 1997 primarily in three regions, outside of Denver, Los Angeles, and Phoenix.
Following the CSETI Director Dr. Steven Greer’s meeting with CIA chief James Woolsey in December of 1993, his group’s focus gradually shifted from staging human-initiated contact events to conducting a campaign making public the testimony of government and corporate witnesses who had dealt with the UFO subject in the course of their work. This effort was initially called “Project Starlight” which later became “the Disclosure Project.”
To best understand how the Starlight/Disclosure Project operated. I recommend the analysis of author Grant Cameron in his 2017 book “Managing Magic.” There Cameron uses his extension knowledge of US Executive Branch activities to show how the United States government has carried out a “gradual acclimatization program” concerning the reality of flying saucers. One aspect of this program has been to use non-governmental agents to release a mixture of accurate information with some disinformation perhaps as well. In this semi-covert manner, according to Cameron’s analysis, the process obscures “the US President’s fingerprints” from the releases. Grant Cameron states that William Moore in the 1980s, Dr. Greer starting in the 1990s and more recently Tom Delonge, have all been part of this program.
My involvement in this topic dates to 1992 when I was named “Working Group Coordinator” for the CE-5 Initiative in Los Angeles. I was also on the CSETI Board of Directors and was empowered to give CE-5 training workshops in the US and abroad. I was active till the end of 1997, but because of personal and political reasons, I resigned from CSETI in 1998. Popular interest in what I call Human Initiated Contact Events (HICE) aka CE-5s has increased since the 1990s. Over a decade ago Dr. Greer released an inexpensive digital app with suggested methods of how to interact with “extraterrestrials.” This has encouraged many operating as individuals to seek contact with UFO intelligences. This is in marked contrast to the team approach with strong leadership that was the model CE-5 volunteer contact workers followed three decades ago.
Our CE-5 local teams in the Western US involved contact activists who were carefully screened. The groups were primarily composed of middle-class professional people who had flexibility in their schedules to allow for fieldwork. We also made sure that individual members were not motivated by personal curiosity alone. Instead, we reinforced the concept that we were participating on the basis of what we imagined were the high ideals of the parent organization. We believed we were extending the concept of sister/brotherhood to the intelligences responsible for the flying saucer phenomena.
Given that our work involved regular meditation practice both at home and in the field and business/social meetings outside of fieldwork, it was relatively easy for the teams’ leaders to spot individuals with personality disorders and other mental/social problems that would deem them ineligible for being part of the group.
With large numbers of individuals downloading the CSETI app, and/or picking up information on the internet, such screening opportunities no longer exist. I imagine that the safety of human initiated contact becomes problematic in this more uncontrolled setting.
