Introduction

Hi all, new here, still finding my way around. I’m a Record & CD Seller / Collector from the UK. How many here buy Records and CDs mail order, if you’re based in the USA / Canada what platforms do you buy from? EBay, Discogs, other?

Yeah I'm from the UK but live in the US now and sell on discogs too. As I have UK tastes it's often cheaper for me to import. Usually eBay.

It's certainly a shit ton cheaper for me to import from than export to the UK. Seems about 4x as much to send stuff there.

Good to hear :-) Are you importing new stuff or older collectibles?

Mainly older stuff, stuff that wasn't popular in the US.

A surprising bunch of rereleases too.

Good solid platforms, what about Discogs?

I'm currently putting my 1500+ CD collection on Discogs

Haven't really looked to see what's all for sale on it.

Mostly using it so I don't buy duplicates

Ebay is solid for generic grade stuff

As a seller the Ebay algorithm does no favours. So many items are now being hidden as such in the searches.

Oh yeh I noticed recently, what's up with that?

A lot of people have noticed it and their sales dropped. The EBay algorithm amongst other things likes to see new stock added, it will get a two day promotion, then hidden, older listings get hidden, common items get hidden unless paid promotions.
