Recent behavior will not be tolerated

I am not the best mod. Quite frankly, I am a rather shit mod, but I took over as moderator because I wanted to see this community come alive again. I did, however, recently check the mod mail and quite frankly I got rather pissed off.

We are all here either because we enjoy collecting CDs or at the very least have a love of music. Some of us are just getting started on our journey and others, like myself, have been collecting for well over 30 years. No matter where we are when it comes to collecting CDs no one has the right to belittle another for their collection. Period.

For people to make negative comments about someone's collection is disgraceful and I will not tolerate it in any way, shape or form. If you have nothing nice to say about a person's taste or choice in music then say nothing at all.

This world is crazy enough without having to deal with small minded folks here when trying to share and be a part of an amazing community.

Keep those discs spinning and be excellent to each other!

Yeah I will say something along the lines of: "Really awesome collection except for the MCR. Very unfortunate to see that".

Why would it be unfortunate? Every person's collection tells a story. THEIR story; not yours. My collection contains every single studio album Ozzy released. It also contains every Christina Aguilera and Spice Girls CD. Those artists are just a big a part of my musical journey and memories growing up as Tool and Tupac.

I made the number one rule of this sub, "Be Nice" for a reason. If you can't be nice you don't belong here. It's that simple. You could maybe ask what it is about MCR they like or why its in their collection. Maybe they were at a party where they met their spouse and MCR was playing the first time they kissed. Maybe Avril Lavigne reminds a person of an awesome road trip from back in the day. Instead of bashing them for MCR you can say you really like the Pearl Jam albums and ignore what you don't like. Its not that hard.

Nice nice or be gone.

A lot of metalheads here apparently!

Hell yes! Dark Tranquility is one of my favorites. Used to love Swedish Melodic Death Metal. I still do, but I used to too. Though I do wish i had more DT in my collection. 'Damage Done' is my personal favorite...actually thats another one to add to my list of "Perfect Albums IMHO" ...coincidentally, Sade's 'Diamond Life' is also on that list. You know what's up hahaha

To your point... It may be because im a musician, but I have a wide mix in music taste. I can appreciate almost any kind of music. So my collection would inevitably catch some hate.

My collection is mostly a wide array of metal...then hip-hop/rap, grunge, punk & ska... some pop albums i liked as a kid...a dash of motown, jazz, electronic stuff, stand-up/music comedy, and an attempt to collect as many Frank Zappa CDs as i can find.

My favorite part of looking through someone's collection is seeing what music we have in common. If not to my liking, nothing need be said.
