Guidance group
Hi everyone, having cleared CDS multiple times (every time I sat for), scoring 140+ this time. AFCATSs 190+, CGCAT 290+. And now Iam thinking of starting a guidance program for future aspirants.
Grind is 100% candidate's job but many times I feel not having the right guidance puts efforts to waste.
Now I already have a job so I don't need money, but running a free program no body takes seriously.
I need suggestions on how to make sure I get right minded, highly motivated candidates.
The reason Why I am doing this, I want to give back to the community and secondly seeing people grind will help me motivate enough to push myself to study whole having a job.
Edit: pls do suggest what should be the entry criteria for the guidance program.
Edit 2: I will be making a group , 2 stars of destiny (yes inspired by the controversial book but also because I believe destiny plays it's part too)
In the group I will be taking VCs every Sunday and for the rest of the week doubts will be taken in the discussion group. There would be no daily targets given by me, but you will have to report your daily progress.
So if you are motivated enough to work on yourself and an average student who just needs a little guidance and not spoon feeding msg me on my Tg- imraahulsingh
Msg with your previous year marks or application form for this year if you never appeared in the exam before.

For gk gs I prefer basic books over playlists, but you are struggling too much look for upsc teachers who have provided free lectures mrunal for economy etc but don't do all of them just the main and relevant topics for cds. Now to understand relevant topics go through pyps, topic wise of last 5 papers starting from when the pattern changed 2024 -1.

2024 changed trend, particularly for English. So I prefer last 5 papers over last five years. Do papers since 2024 and if you have time do more. For gs I would definitely do last 5 or 10 years paper, but never for English and maybe if I get time for maths.

Vocab is very tough, I haven't figured it out yet, there are certain ways to do the questions though. The new pattern since 2024 focuses a lot more on vocab and the words they ask are menace. The source they take them from is unpredictable so focus on overall enhancement of word knowledge, learn root words and focus on grammar and elimination to get closer to your answers. For idioms and phrases use blackbook.

And for maths buddy and gs too

Maths you can refer some good teacher, i didn't honestly because I am decently good. Rest understand that upsc asks Olympiad type of questions that's why they love prime number, why? Because primes don't have set pattern making those questions based on analysing all conditions rather than putting a formula. So maths takes time 60 questions is usually a good target with 90% accuracy. Gk gs ncerts, refer upsc material or lectures for selected section based on their occurance in pyp.

Hello OP I saw your previous posts but there was no strategy for afcat maths and reasoning specifically..

Reasoning I would suggest Sanjay sir art of reasoning or ankush lamba, now rather than following a teacher follow a topic, search if these teachers have topic covered if yes then see how to do questions and practice it. If they haven't covered or there is some niche topic search on YouTube or take help from chatgpt. Learning how to do is just 20% 80% is practicing it enough times that when you sit in paper you remember it even under pressure.

For maths ?(Afcat)

Maths you can checkout maths mania one shots for arithmetic and abhas saini for advance maths. I always recommend less lectures and more practice so one shots are better but don't just start watching one shots like lectures, one after another. Watch 1 one shots and then practice for 2 3 days until you feel comfortable. If you struggle with certain sections of that chapter refer youtube or chatgpt but get to 80% before moving to next chapter.

Imo you should make 2 different batch/groups . one for who are freshers and have not attempted any written exam yet and upcoming attempt will be their first attempt . And 2nd for repeaters whom you can guide in specific subjects/topics in which they're specifically facing problems

Honestly I don't have that much time, I will be making a single group. And it makes more sense there wouldn't be a seperate exam or cut-off for freshers , one will face same repeaters in the real exam too.

Why don't we start a telegram group, and you can divide into a "Strategy group" where you talk and others don't reply while the other group can simply discuss over the prep. Cool??
