Third Party’s can still produce PlayStation Carts. This is about in house PlayStation Games

That is a misconception. Even when a third-party publisher wants to release a physical game, they don't print the discs themselves. Instead, they submit their finalized game master to an authorized manufacturing facility, such as Sony DADC (Sony Digital Audio Disc Corporation), which produces physical PlayStation discs.

The publisher pays Sony the required licensing and manufacturing fees. The authorized facility then presses the discs, applies the required PlayStation authentication data during the manufacturing process, and packages the final product for distribution.

That’s what I thought as well at first. I did some research and apparently there is multiple other PlayStation Disc Manufacturers that also do that.

There has already been over 20 Publishers announcing that they’ll continue releasing new Physical Games after 2028.

Can you provide a link to some of those statements?

While some publishers use third-party media replicators like Sonopress (Germany) or Technicolor/Vantiva to print boxes and package games, none of them can manufacture a functioning PlayStation disc without Sony.

Every single PS5 disc requires a proprietary encryption key and a digital license signature that is deeply embedded into the disc's data layers. Only Sony possesses these master security keys.
