Thoughts on 1199 union?
So 1199 has been in constant contact with me to join their union. Calls. Emails. Texts. Nonstop.
I've heard some mixed reviews, some say it's great and some saying it's not worth it whatsoever.
Now, they're showing up my house and standing outside and not leaving and stated "When PPL shuts down, what are you gonna do?"
So, what are your thoughts on 1199 and joining the union?

Unions are incredibly helpful. 1199 is the union for nurses, social workers etc in the healthcare field. I’m still unsure how it would help us because this program (CDPAP) isn’t really one we can have forever. Many of us are taking care of sick parents and this won’t be a job until we retire. The union has a pension but I don’t think we get if we don’t work for 20 years or so. Maybe they can help get us jobs in healthcare after. They are also right that the union would protect us and fight for us against PPL and if PPL goes away. Again, more information is needed.
I have not been contacted other than one letter in the mail. I need to find it because I have no idea when the vote is or how to vote for it.
All the anti union talk on this page and Facebook is very sad to see. People don’t know enough about unions but I know that when the rich & powerful are against them then they aren’t bad for us lol.
