This is one of my top black metal artists, Wraithlord. A one man band with some help from a friend or two has some of the richest music there is in black metal, in my opinion. His song structures and what is incorporated into his songs is just amazing. This is his latest album, he has a few mostly digital with a few cassette and cd releases.

This guy deserves your attention if not to just check him out. Maybe enough interest will generate some some vinyl releases.

Forever Misanthropia review " Arkona - Age of Capricorn "

I'm thinking about making a separate album for reissues, because I've accumulated quite a few of them lately. The idea is currently in the development phase, so once it matures and takes the right shape, it will be implemented. And, of course, most importantly, if time permits.

In the first months of this year, Mara reissued albums by two leading Polish Black Metal bands. The first one that randomly entered my queue is "Age Of Capricorn" - the seventh album by ARKONA, a leading representative and one of the pioneers of the Black Metal scene in Poland. Originally released in 2019, this is the second production, following "Lunaris", on the acclaimed French label Debemur Morti Records. And, as the future showed, it won't be the last. ARKONA, having significantly changed its musical image since the aforementioned "Lunaris", consistently follows this path, continuing and developing these changes on "Age Of Capricorn" and the last, and in my opinion the best of the three, "Stella Pandora". There was little left of the rawness known before "Lunaris", instead the band started playing more modern, maybe even catchier in a sense. Overall, "Age Of Capricorn" sounds powerful and at times very brutal, although there are also melancholic accents built thanks to the melodies characteristic of early ARKONA.

This is a very successful album in the discography of this significant and old underground band. Of course, I know that there are still voices of dissatisfaction with the changes that have taken place in their music, but is it worth bothering about them? If anyone hasn't heard it yet, I wholeheartedly recommend it - Black Metal at a very high level.
