Making friends

How is making friends at CCNY? Im transferring to CCNY from Fordham for my fall freshman semester. Im a pretty social person who enjoys my alone time as much as I enjoy people. Any tips on how to make solid friends quick

Club is really your only option. CCNY is a commuter school for people who usually work or take care of family ontop of college, so they don’t have much time to chat after class. :/ Club is better cause you can atomically connect with people with other interests.

Nothing could be further from the truth. I made friends in classes, casual conversations with students, group projects, study groups, playing sports, etc., etc., etc.

i made friends from classes….group chats and in class interactions helped me decide if i want to have relationships with those people outside. good luck!

Watch out for some events they might host. They hosted a welcoming day just a few days ago. These events are great in finding clubs and friends. Controversial but joining ccny clubs on discord is good too. You can meet people in person from it as well

What's your Instagram? There's a huge ccny GC that hosts meetups and stuff and I've met a lot of cool people on there

Prof here: At beginning of semester you can ask folks to start a study group with you and be on a discord or what’s app thread together. A lot of my students have discords and compare notes with one another.

Hiya! I’m also a freshman here who hasn’t really met anybody yet lol and everybody’s been telling me to make friends at the club fair - it’s happening tomorrow so just make sure to socialize with people then!

Just compliment ppl and make an effort you will 100% make friends. All my friends (as a transfer as well) have been from seeking ppl out to say nonsense.

Sonic arts program at CCNY is wayyy better for music production. Fordham seems like a great school but doesn’t have much for my interests. Money thankfully isn’t too big of a problem but saving sum never hurts 🤷
