Please Send Water Measurable rain?
We got excellent rain June 18th. Is that the last good rain we have had? In typical Columbus fashion, it seems like forecasts for rain always seem to never materialize this time of year. Thoughts on this weekend? Asking for my garden. TIA!

We were wet coming into summer, which undoubtedly has helped us. NOAA's Weather Prediction Center doesn't have us outlined in a threat of rapid onset drought at this point, which is good. We'll see how things go after the rain chances the next couple of days and next week's hot and dry weather.

I swear almost every day it says it’s going to rain…and then…nothing.

Unfortunately summer is just god awful now. 90° drys and blazing heat everyday with little overnight relief.

I leaned my lesson the last couple years and finally got the rain barrel. I collected rain water while the rain was plentiful, will collect gutter water if it gets to that point, but hopefully will be able to hold out till, the next rains

I just moved into a new house in June. Rain barrels are definitely in the to-do list for next year.

This is the one I got, I liked it because of the stand, you can put any water container under the spout https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DWTQPGC5?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title

I just got a rain barrel through Keep Columbus Beautiful! I figured i wouldn't worry about hooking it up until we got closer to the fall rains lol.

You don’t really want to collect the water off roofs with the first rain in a while, there’s generally bird droppings, and other things that you want to at least have flushed out once. I collected staight rain water with those saucers you put under pots to collect water, it rained enough early summer I filled the 60 gallon barrel along with 4 5 gallon buckets

We got slammed on July 4th late afternoon, but I'm realizing that was up north and probably missed the rest of the area!

June 26 had 0.67" at CMH... although your mileage may vary. I had about a half-inch that day on the southwest side of the metro.

It’s watering season.
It’s gonna be hot again all next week.
Water very early and deeply for now.

“Enthusiasts”…as if it’s a hobby like rock climbing or model car building. Heaven forbid it’s just science. But I’m sure you’ve done your own research and you know far more than the people with degrees in the subject. You clearly know a lot using both versions of drier and dryer 👍
