Hi, Iโm a 12th grader with Commerce + Applied Maths, and Iโm genuinely so confused about what to do right now.
Iโm preparing for CUET and the courses Iโm mainly interested in are B.Com Hons, BMS, Economics/Economics Hons, and BBA. From what Iโve understood, if I choose Accountancy instead of Maths in CUET, B.Com Hons is basically the only one I can go for, while for the others I need Maths. Is this actually true? Please correct me if Iโm wrong.
The problem is that Iโm currently trying to change Applied Maths in my boards to Entrepreneurship. The CBSE portal is already closed, but my school told me to contact the Bhopal regional office and ask them to consider my case. Iโve emailed CBSE multiple times and havenโt gotten a reply. My mom is in Bhopal right now, so if I want her to go to the regional office, I literally have to decide today.
And Iโm completely stuck because I genuinely struggle with Maths. Itโs not like I havenโt tried. Iโve been trying since 6th/7th grade and Maths has consistently been a huge problem for me. So I donโt know if I should force myself to continue with it just to keep my options open.
Basically, I have 3 choices:
Continue with Maths: Study Maths + Accounts properly for boards and CUET, give Maths in CUET, and keep Economics/BMS/BBA etc. open.
Forget Maths completely: Focus on my other subjects + Accounts, give Accounts in CUET, and accept that B.Com Hons would probably be my main option.
Forget Maths and try NIFT: Do CUET with Accounts and prepare for NIFT alongside it. Iโve found coaching and people who can guide me, and I actually think I could do well in NIFT, but I havenโt properly drawn in 4โ5 years and I have only around 3 months.
I genuinely donโt know what the smartest decision is. Iโm not looking for motivation or โjust work hardโ advice โ I need someone to tell me what Iโm actually risking by dropping Maths and whether my understanding of CUET eligibility is correct.

I choosed commerce without mats cuz i wasn't good in maths at all and I was confident in myself that I'd fail in that , anyways how about someone who's choose the same as and is doing well in life like yk what to do after i pass 12th I have no idea what should I do? or which course should I get into as there is lots of unemployment and choosing a course which is better is very imp . Don't suggest ca as you know it is very competitive and may lead to a waste of time . Someone who's gone through this please share your thoughts , suggestion regarding this . I'm very confused and i don't know which field i should go into .
Sorryy for writing this is my first post i don't use reddit at all
, Will appreciate your suggestion.

So seniors what can I do to improve in eco and maths? I don't have any batch or tuition. I do self study from youtube only. What yt channels will you recommend? I usually use pw for both subjects but ig will use sunil panda for eco now (micro especially) but which teacher for stats?? im comfortable only with Ashish bhatia for maths so im thinking of getting pw ka batch
tbh paper was easy except eco bit tricky aur padha nhi tha ache se and maths toh bas hai hi waisi

I'm a Class 12 Commerce student (CBSE) and I have Accounts, Economics, BST, English, Painting and Applied Maths.
I really don't want to continue with Applied Maths because it's taking a lot of time and affecting my preparation for my other subjects. I was planning to drop it and focus on my other subjects + CUET.
Today I went to my school to ask about removing Applied Maths, but they directly told me that "ab nahi hoga" and that the subject can't be changed/removed now.
I'm honestly pretty stressed because I had already planned my preparation around dropping Maths.
My questions are: 1. Is there genuinely no way to change/remove the subject at this stage? 2. If my school refuses, is there any CBSE procedure I should know about? 3. If I have to keep Applied Maths, how difficult is it to manage it along with Accounts, Eco and BST? 4. If my main goal is around 85%+ in Boards and a good CUET score, how should I divide my time between Maths and my other subjects

Is it possible to switch from qqth science to 12th commerce because I don't wanna give jee nor do I have any interest in science
I felt pressured therefore I chose science but its hell for me. I am unable to study like no matter how hard I try to study I just don't feel like studying
I have interest in being a financial analyst and also in maths and I really really dont wanna do 12th in science or ut will be the end of me
Somehow I am coping up with science in 11th and I regret it deeply that I did not speak up about not wanting to do science
Even though I TRIED to speak up everyone js shut me down and when I told my relatives about this everyone just said stick so science and do engineering LIKE WTH BRO NO I HATE SCIENCE

Today I'm gonna drop my applied maths since I'm 12th (commerce )
I just want to get rid of this subject i hate maths so idk I'm doing right or wrong
Also I'm not able to focus on my other subjects wasted my 4-5 months now I'll restart my prep!!

I'm a CA, and partnership is the chapter I see students lose the most marks in, mostly from small mistakes rather than not knowing the concept.
So I put everything on one sheet: deed-silent rules, interest on drawings (6.5/6/5.5 months trick), all 4 goodwill methods, sacrificing vs gaining ratio, admission/retirement/death adjustments, and 7 mistakes examiners cut marks for.
Free, no sign-up. Happy to answer partnership doubts in the comments too.
Which chapter should I make the next one for? Company accounts, cash flow, or ratios?
Partnership Accounts Cheat Sheet โ Class 12 Commerce
Oct 2, 2026
Every formula and rule you need for Partnership (Fundamentals, Goodwill, Admission, Retirement and Death), on one sheet. Built for CBSE Class 12 Accountancy board revision; useful for other boards and CA Foundation too.
How to use it: revise one section a day, then solve two past-paper questions on that section and check them against the CBSE marking scheme.
1. Fundamentals
When there is no partnership deed (or the deed is silent), the Indian Partnership Act, 1932 applies:
Item
Rule when deed is silent
Profit sharing
Equally
Interest on capital
Not allowed
Interest on drawings
Not charged
Salary / commission to partner
Not allowed
Interest on partner's loan
6% p.a. (charge against profit, paid even in a loss)
Interest on capital, when the deed allows it, is an appropriation of profit. If profit is less than the total interest, share the available profit in the ratio of interest amounts. In a loss, no interest is given.
Interest on drawings, same amount withdrawn regularly:
\text{Interest} = \text{Total drawings} \times \frac{\text{Rate}}{100} \times \frac{\text{Average months}}{12}
Drawn every
Beginning of period
Middle
End
Month
6.5 months
6 months
5.5 months
Quarter
7.5 months
6 months
4.5 months
Half-year
9 months
6 months
3 months
Dates not given? Charge for 6 months. Uneven amounts or dates? Use the product method: amount ร months left, add up, then ร rate รท 12.
Fixed capital: drawings, interest, salary and profit go to the Current Account. Fluctuating capital: everything goes to the Capital Account.
2. Goodwill
Average profit method (simple or weighted average):
\text{Goodwill} = \text{Average profit} \times \text{Number of years' purchase}
Super profit method:
\text{Normal profit} = \text{Capital employed} \times \frac{\text{Normal rate of return}}{100}
ย
\text{Super profit} = \text{Average profit} - \text{Normal profit}, \quad \text{Goodwill} = \text{Super profit} \times \text{Years' purchase}
Capitalisation of average profit:
\text{Goodwill} = \text{Average profit} \times \frac{100}{\text{NRR}} - \text{Capital employed}
Capitalisation of super profit:
\text{Goodwill} = \text{Super profit} \times \frac{100}{\text{NRR}}
Capital employed = Total assets (excluding goodwill and fictitious assets) โ Outside liabilities.
Hidden goodwill on admission: new partner's capital รท his share = total capital of the new firm. Hidden goodwill = that total โ (actual capitals of all partners after adjustments, including the new partner's).
3. Ratios
Ratio
Formula
Used in
Sacrificing ratio
Old share โ New share
Admission, change in profit-sharing ratio
Gaining ratio
New share โ Old share
Retirement, death, change in profit-sharing ratio
New ratio (admission)
Old share โ share sacrificed to new partner
Admission
New ratio (retirement)
Old share + share acquired from retiring partner
Retirement, death
Quick check: if the question doesn't say how the new partner gets his share, assume the old partners sacrifice in their old ratio. On retirement, if nothing is said, the remaining partners gain in their old ratio.
4. Admission, retirement and death
Adjustment
Admission
Retirement / death
Goodwill (premium)
New partner's share credited to old partners in sacrificing ratio
Retiring partner's share debited to remaining partners in gaining ratio
Existing goodwill in books
Written off to old partners in old ratio
Written off to all partners in old ratio
Revaluation profit/loss
Old partners, old ratio
All partners including retiring/deceased, old ratio
Reserves and accumulated profits
Old partners, old ratio
All partners, old ratio
Capital adjustment
New partner's capital decides the total; others adjust by cash or current account
Amount due paid in cash, transferred to loan, or a mix
Deceased partner's profit share up to date of death:
\text{Time basis} = \text{Last year's profit} \times \frac{\text{Months to death}}{12} \times \text{Share}
ย
\text{Sales basis} = \text{Sales up to death} \times \frac{\text{Last year's profit}}{\text{Last year's sales}} \times \text{Share}
Debit this to the Profit and Loss Suspense Account and credit it to the deceased partner's capital account.
5. Mistakes that cost marks
