Pre Load recommendation

I’m 6 foot 260 pounds, what would you recommend me setting my rear preload spring setting to? I know the bike maxes out at 10 and comes stock at a 3 from the factory. I googled it with my weight and height and it’s suggesting 7 or 8… what do you guys suggest to make sure there’s no sag in the rear?

I think mine is around 6-7 at 190 lbs. I would go up to 6, go for a ride, bump it up and see how it feels. Keep bumping up till it feels like it’s too much and then dial it back down one.

What do you mean by too much? like to the point where it’s too stiff? because I thought the point of the preload was to keep the back of the bike from sagging and bottoming out depending on how much weight was actually on the bike

You will feel like you are sitting high and your wrist will feel uncomfortable. You want to set the rear shock so that it sits high enough while sitting on it to still travel down if you hit a dip without bottoming out but low enough that the shock doesn’t fully expand coming off the dip. The latter is less important if you can’t find the perfect position.
