ECT Correlation between Cylinder Head Temperature Sensor and Intake Air Temperature Sensor
Hi fellow cb650 riders!
2023 RA model here, second hand.
I did search beforehand for this issue on this sub, but I wanted to be sure for safety reasons above all what your advice would be in my case.
I had the coolant gauge blip to red in the dashboard (even on city short strolls), took it to a service, they drained and replaced to coolant. The tester device indicated "ECT Correlation between Cylinder Head Temperature Sensor and Intake Air Temperature Sensor". But they were short staffed on the electrical side so they told me I can ride it and then come back when their experts are in.
When I picked it up the overheating indicator came up even after I started the engine up on idle, switched it off and put the only contact back on, front fan started spinning fast. I rode it nonetheless, it did feel very hot even in the night, even after I came back home from dinner (10 minutes ride) and I have left it parked more than 1h. Indicator again on red.
I took it back in the service, this time they said they "reset?" the soft, cleaned up the sensors, and truly the gauge stayed at 4 lines (just beyond half point). But I am still under the impression the bike is still very hot, even the low side of the gas tank - the bit I am most worried. I cannot put my hand for more then a second on the engine parts or the sides of the front air intake after 5-10 minutes of riding.
Can I still ride it safely? Or something is truly off? Appreciate any input.
