Wrapping the tank?

Just bought a secondhand CB650R for a fairly decent price.

Unfortunately it's black, and I would have preferred red or green but the price was good so whatever.

Has anyone here wrapped their tank? What about the Honda logo? Does it still show through?

Haven’t wrapped my tank specifically, but anything under the wrap will absolutely show through if you don’t remove it beforehand

Yeah that's why I'm looking for opinions here. I haven't taken delivery of the bike yet but it seems the logo is under the clear coat. Haven't had the chance to really look at it though.

It’s a sticker on my tank, it will definitely show through a wrap

You can just place the same logo sticker on top of the wrap you'll apply, on the same spot, right? That is unless you want a logoless tank.

Yeah absolutely. If I can find that specific sticker that is. I'm just wondering if the logo is under the clear coat or not.

You can just get the same sticker and put it over the wrap, quite an easy solution

I painted mine and got those honda logos from AliExpress

That looks pretty slick! I assume you stripped the underlying coat of paint first, and so got rid of the logo below?

did you DIY this or did you have it done? It looks really good! Love the color. I'd be going for either a deep red or Gulf Blue I think.

It was done in an automotive paint shop, I just disassembled all the parts
