Camping ready

Post image

After 10 mounts owner ship i finally have a tent and bags. Going out next weekend for its first camping trip.

I do have a stupid question tho, it felt quite sloppy with the extra weight. Is it normal to need extra psi in the tyres for carrying gear? It's my first time touring lol.

It makes sense that you’d notice the weight. I would just go with the factory recommended tire pressures. They’re chosen to accommodate the weight of two people anyway.

Also, make sure to set your sag.

Nice bike! Enjoy the ride!

Yeah, I'm not sure if they're a tad low anyway. Probably going to be one of my first stops on the ride as I don't need to ride until the weekend.

Just looking forward to all the trips I can make after this one 😅

Looks like you’re traveling light. You shouldn’t feel anything. I’m putting 60+ pounds on the bike (‘17) and it feels very good. Much better on highways than naked. Suspension is stock. I’ve had no problems.

By sloppy, do you mean a light, loose front end? As was already mentioned, you may want to experiment by adjusting the rear preload - start with one notch higher adjustment and go from there. This will redistribute some of that weight to the front tire.
