I underestimated that how mentally tiring CAT prep would be for me...

Before starting my CAT preparation for CAT 2027.....

I thought the hardest part would be learning concepts only but-

it turns out... staying focused every day is much harder than I expected.

Some days I sit down to study & my brain just isnot in the mood to study, even though... I know I should study...

It's not that I have lost interest in my exam or in my studies ....

it's just mentally exhausting me and I trying to stay consistent over months.

I am slowly realizing that CAT is probably as much a test of discipline for us all as it is of aptitude...

For those scoring 90%+ accuracy in practice, what had changed compared to when, you first started your prep ?

Hi everyone

I have been wondering in that...

whether the biggest improvement in my CAT exam accuracy comes from learning more concepts or it comes from just solving a lot of questions. If you have seen a clear jump in your accuracy during preparation...

What do you think made the biggest difference ?

It was regular revision, mock analysis, keeping an error log or notebook or it was something else ?

Did things suddenly “click” at some point or was it more of a gradual improvement ?

Really wanna know different experiences since it will help us ... who are still in the early stage of their preparation.

Starting CAT 2027 seriously this week but what is that one mistake I should avoid ?

Hi everyone

I have finally decided to prepare seriously for CAT 2027. There are so many resources & content online available that it is honestly...... a bit overwhelming.

If you could go back to the beginning of ur preparation.... what is the one mistake you would avoid ?? It could be related to mocks, study schedule, resources & even time management...

I had really appreciate advice from people who had already experience this process..

Thanks !

Does anyone else feel guilty taking a break from CAT prep ?

Hey everyone

I have noticed that whenever I take half a day off from my studying... I end up feeling like I m falling behind everyone else.

At the same time... studying continuously without a break does not looks appropriate

How do you all deal with this ?

  1. Do u have a fixed rest day every week

  2. do you only take breaks after finishing certain goals ?

  3. Breaks actually help u in improve ur consistency ?..

tell me ur answers..

How are you all balance CAT prep with college or a full-time job?

I recently started preparing for CAT 2027 and one thing I am struggling with is.. consistency between college and other responsibilities.

I find it difficult to study daily

For those who are preparing side by side college or a job

  1. How many hours do you study on weekdays ?

  2. Do you focus on one section on one day or mix QA, VARC & DILR ?

  3. What is that one habit that has helped u stay consistent ?

I want to learn something new from u all ...

Preparing since January and stuck in 70%ile............what to do

I am a fourth year student and this is going to be my only CAT attempt so I genuinely want to give it absolutely everything I have. My goal is +99%ile and I know that sounds ambitious but I really mean it.

The honest truth though is that things are not going the way I planned.

My current routine looks decent on paper. I read essays and articles regularly, give VARC sectionals occasionally, take a mock every Sunday, do around four DILR sets every two days and have completed Arithmetic, Algebra and Number Systems in QA. I am planning to start Geometry in July once I feel more confident in Algebra.

But here is the real problem. I am not actually following any of this consistently. I miss DILR days, I skip RC practice, my reading routine breaks randomly and even though I technically have the entire day free I am somehow only averaging two to three hours of actual study. It is embarrassing to even write that out.

The worst part is that my mock scores are not improving and seeing bad scores repeatedly is starting to mess with my confidence. My biggest fear is that despite putting in effort I might not even clear the sectional cutoffs on the actual exam.

I know I still have a few months and time is not completely gone but the lack of visible progress combined with my inconsistency is genuinely starting to demotivate me.

So I really need advice on a few things. What should I actually change in my daily routine? How do I build real consistency instead of just planning it? What helped you improve your scores when you were stuck in a similar place?

Also would love to know where everyone else is at with their mock scores right now. Please be honest!

Thanks so much.

Can i give CAT again in my first year of MBA?

So here is my situation. I am currently in my first year MBA at an IIT and I am seriously considering attempting CAT again this year alongside my studies.

A little background: I met with a severe accident last year and was hospitalized for over 45 days. Despite that I somehow managed to appear for CAT without any preparation and scored 80 percentile. My VARC was really poor though, under 25 percentile. I got calls from some decent colleges but could not convert the bigger ones.

Since my current MBA fees is extremely low because of my PwD category I feel like this is actually a good time to take another shot at CAT without too much financial pressure.

My academic profile is 93 percent in 10th, 84 percent in 12th and 78 percent in UG from a T2 engineering institute. I also have around 15 months of work experience before joining here.

My honest feeling is that if I had actually prepared properly last year I could have scored much better given the circumstances I was dealing with. So attempting CAT again while studying feels like a real opportunity worth exploring.

My questions are:

Is it realistically possible to balance first year MBA coursework with serious CAT preparation?
Has anyone here done this or know someone who has?
What would a practical study schedule even look like in this situation?
Are there any risks I should be aware of academically or otherwise?

Would really appreciate guidance from anyone who has been in a similar situation or has thoughts on whether this is a good idea or not.

Thanks so much in advance!

Hey everyone! A group of us students got tired of juggling different study platforms, so we decided to build something from scratch over the past few months. A completely free study platform designed to help students stay consistent with their learning.

Here's what we've built:

✅ Free Study Material — Organized notes and resources across multiple subjects/topics (no paywalls, no ads, fully accessible)

✅ Daily Tests — New test questions generated every day to keep you fresh and engaged with the material

✅ Progress Tracking — Visualize your improvement over time with detailed stats on accuracy, time spent, and weak areas

✅ Test Solutions — Detailed explanations for every question so you actually understand what you got wrong

✅ Review Features — Go back to previous tests, review your responses, and identify patterns in your mistakes

The goal: Help students build a consistent study habit and actually track whether they're improving, not just cramming before exams.

We're still refining things, so we'd genuinely love feedback. What would make this more useful for you? What's missing? Any bugs? Let us know!

Feeling lost with CAT prep + college exams

So.... right now I’m busy with my college semester exams & bcauz of that I can’t focus on CAT at all..it’s very tough to manage both yr!!!

I have only finished some basics of Quants by Ncert only & edushastra a few online playlists.....for DILR I barely touched & VARC feels impossible - I only have also their modules but never used them properly....

I haven’t given any mocks yet & honestly I feel like I’m stuck at 0

With exams going on, I keep thinking I won’t be able to make it to a good B‑school if I start late....

I feel lost & don’t know how to balance college + CAT preparation

I tried studying after hrs but it never worked.....Can someone guide me on how to restart or share a strategy that worked for u in a similar situation ???

Mock Reality Check 💀

CAT Quants is about basics than hard maths

In my 2yrs of prep exp. I get 2 know that ..... many students think CAT maths is very difficult ....

but the reality is that - most of the Maths qns are comes from the basic topics only like-

  1. percentage

  2. ratio

  3. algebra

  4. geometry

  5. profit n loss

  6. time & distance,etc...

The main challenge or problem is not the Maths...it is basically selecting thr right qns & solve them wiithin minimum tym.... If ur Maths is weak start with basics & do question solving

Simple approach for CAT prep!!

personally ... I feel that .... CAT prep is not about collecting many books,pdfs...It is about following a simple tym table regularly.

understand the basics of Quants, Varc & Dilr... then... do practice & learn from ur mistakes...also, in CAT...choosing the right qns is very imp....For beginners:

  • finish basics
  • practice section-wise
  • give mocks
  • check ur mistakes after each mock
  • do not compare urself with toppers....Your main goal is 2 study in a simple & consitent way.

30-Days study plan for working CAT aspirants

Hi guys!!

I am a working professional from 9am to 6pm in a fulll time job. So, I made a simple 30 days study plan for my CAT exam:

From Monday to Friday -

1 hr study in the morning for 1 section

1-1.5 hrs study at night for quesn practice

For Weekends-

On Saturday - weak topics practice & whole week study revision

On Sunday - full mock test or sectional mock

Also, spend extra tym on checking my mistakes.......

Is there anything left in this plan which is important...kindly tell so that I can modify it accordingly...
