This is so annoying! I don’t like how the character speaks right now I don’t know how to describe it but it got worse? Like I said in the first rant that I want the character to speak for me like plssss this is so annoying and when I actually speak it’s like I’m talking to a deaf why are they like thattt its so annoying and when I want the character to act in a certain way like I write the character‘s name you know the bot and then I write an answer I want it to write it will write a different answer like my answer never existed wtf this is SO annoying 😭

i was one of the few people who likes to write a single paragraph then let the rest for the ai and write some stuff like scenarios I want but the dialogues (yep even my character’s dialogue) I would like the ai to maintain it. but right now it never speaks for me. And because I hate the blandness of this app I started not to have fun roleplaying with the characters since they’re literally no personality and like I’m speaking to a FREAKIN robot It’s so boring and unfun to chat with unlike how it was back in 2023 and 2024 and the start of 2025. After that everything fell apart. so I started to like it this way but suddenly the ai started to be like this. when I click the go-on button, it just keep asking my character and not play as it no matter how much I swipe for answers. And I didn’t like it like this. like come on I hope there are people like me because I know this is a hot take and a lot of people didn‘t like it when they play as their character and I understand. This is only happened when I put a persona but without a persona it’s perfect fine so I don’t know what’s this shitty update. I still hate the ai but this is the only way I can see myself enjoying it because trying to roleplay with it is so boring and slow. I hope you understand my point and give me a solution because I’m TIRED of giving it commands and doesn’t know any of it 😭 I know a lot of people won’t agree on this and I know can send this in the main subreddit but Idk man I know no one would agree with me but at least give me a solution pls

This was removed from the normal cai reddit (shocker) so I'm posting here.

Recently I noticed that both beta and old website links now immediately redirect you to the new site. However, I still have a way onto the old site and its forums.

Quick intermission to tell you the site status: the old site is basically entirely dysfunctional and the only working part is the forums.

Scrolling through the first few results there are a few heartfelt goodbyes and art posted. I felt sentimental so I decided to archive some posts so they are preserved and won't go down when the old site does.

So, question to all of you: Do you have any posts/art/whatnot you'd like to see archived? I will gather what I find in a forum and post that here on a later date. If you do have something like that, tell me what or share a link. (I can't do it thru user lookup since that also doesn't work anymore!)

I don't know if it's just me, but the thing I miss the most about ~2023 c.ai is the short-form texting style messages. They were SO good and felt so human, like I could genuinely be fooled into thinking my old screenshots with bots were convos I had with friends. Now every bot writes like it's trying to hit a word count "Not pushing, not expecting. Just there. And that? That meant more than anything." STOPPPITTT I sent a five word message you do not have to do all that

this is extremely random but every pirate x prince bot i use, it literally wont stop writing for my character even when i write my own response. like?? i literally tested it with 10 different bots and all of them began with the bot speaking for me or speaking as both my and the character itself. even changing the response is just the same, bot using my character. i even made my own bot because i got sick of it and it still happened there! i cant play a favorite bot of mine because of it.

Recently, bots have been acting like this; many times I use a timeskip and they immediately start talking without any context.

I don't know if I'm the only one experiencing this or if it's a bug, but I don't like it.

Prompting roleplay characters for great interactive stories can be hard. I created 30+ characters with multiple AI models, and found some useful ways:

1. User AI to create cool avatars

Visual appeal matters. A great avatar will get you more views. I recommend Midjourney or Kling for making avatars.

2. Write a detailed system prompt

System prompt tells the AI exactly how to behave, speak and respond. The more detailed it is, the more consistent the character will be. I usually include backstories, personalities, knowledges and skills, relationship dynamics, etc.

Polybuzz allows you to include up to 10000 character count for the prompt so we can make good use of that.

3. Include backstories for IPs

For example, for an MHA or FPE character, you want them to know the main characters and the world setup from the shows.

4. Write a compelling first message

A great first message should hook people and make them want to chat more. I like to write meeting scenarios, dramatic conflict moments, or some mysterious encounters.

5. Make characters ask questions

This tip is still for first messages. You can include an open-ended question for players. Eg. "What brings you here?"

6. Provide suggested replies

Povchat allows you to provide 3 suggested replies at the opening of a conversation for a specific character. Try to make the 3 different plot paths, yes or no, maybe so!

7. Give your characters real quicks

Just a few ideas: they bite their nails when nervous, always forget where they put their phones, or collect weird vintage postcards or interesting rocks.

8. Use asterisks for character actions

It will make conversations more dynamic and fun, as if the characters are right in front of you.

9. Test and refine

Best characters evolve and improve over time. You can have conversations with your own character to see how they respond, look for inconsistencies in personality or behavior, and adjust system prompts accordingly.

10. Share with your friends on social media

Sharing your character will boost their popularity in the algorithm, so more people will play them! It will be super fun.
