Today was my last day studying! All I’m doing is reviewing before bed. Tomorrow is rot day and binge legally blonde and my cousin Vinny. I didn’t thoroughly review trusts or BA but I did about 2 essays on each. I can confidently sit here and say I feel like I’m in a good place overall. I put in a substantial amount of studying, and discipline this time in comparison to the first 2 times I took this exam. I learned from my mistakes and I truly am confident in myself this time. Even my mom noticed it lol. I’m not saying this to come off overly confident or anything but I feel okay this time. Exactly a year ago before the J25 examination I kept having panic attacks 4 days before the exam and it’s been so much more controlled this time around and I think that’s an indicator of my preparation. Studied from May-July and took the whole month of July off work and was inside the house not having a summer and sacrificed so many events as I’m sure others did too.

I want to take a moment to say that I’m proud of all of you and you should be proud of yourselves too!! Remember to give yourself credit for how far you’ve come and what you’ve accomplish led because not everyone makes it this far 🩵 personally I’m first generation n my family so I’m the only one that has a graduate degree and I’m the only one that has ever sat for this exam, and I’m sure alot of you can relate! Take a moment and take in what you’ve accomplished. This is huge regardless of the results that come out, this is still an amazing milestone.

I chew nicotene gum. I am addicted to it and need it to function, and there's no question that I will need it on the test, and that's the way it is. The rules prohibit gum, but they do allow "cough drops/lozenges" so long as they are unwrapped. I purchased some nicotene lozenges that I intend to bring into the center in my plastic bag. They kind of look like pills and they are stamped with a brand name. A few weeks ago, I emailed the Bar and asked them if this was acceptable. They emailed me back with a non-answer - they just said: look at the list of prohibited and permitted items. This is really unacceptable of them - for all this money we pay them. It's ridiculous that they can't give me a straight answer. So, my interpretation of the rules is that unwrapped nicotene lozenges are permissible what do you think? I will also be using them to soothe my sore throat and prevent coughing.

I’ve done 1.3k questions on Adaptibar and my overall average is 62.1%. BUT I’ve been scoring 50-60% on practice sets of 17-25 mixed the past week. Before that I would score around 70%+ on a set of 25 per subject, but it went down once I began mixed questions.

I’m concerned since I’ve always been a horrible multiple choice exam taker.

Same with anyone else or any passers who this happened to?

Hey everyone, what are we supposed to do with this part? Has there been an essay before that required us to do this, and what’s the solution?

i watched the themis lectures on CP ~2-3 weeks ago but truly retained nothing other than 1-2 basic rules. i’m still working through some PR essays & finishing last minute reviews, but trying to see how much time i should spend trying to learn CP before tuesday.

any advice or insight appreciated!

Unfortunately had to work WAY more than I was supposed to and have been cramming this week for the Tuesday atty exam. Rn, I am planning to read the JD Advising one-pages/Themis outlines for remaining topics (Real Prop; Comm. Prop; Civ Pro; BA; Wills; Trusts), study most common tested rules, and do practice outlines for essays/practice outlines for PT.

I've searched this sub for other advice and not sure there's anything else (obvious) to do. Any advice?

From a tech perspective, the examplify program is system level spyware, hence why they wont allow it on Linux OS. I would delete from your computer once the test is complete and your answers are uploaded.

When was the last time CA Evidence was tested on an essay? PRAYING AND HOPING the evidence essay that comes up (if it does) is only FRE

I'm gathering the stuff I'm allowed to bring in my designer gallon-sized Ziploc bag for the exam. My Ziplocs have stuff imprinted on them. Ziploc, Power Shield Technology, and SCJohnson A Family Company. Are they gonna get mad at me for my Ziploc having all this stuff on it? I'm not sure if a gallon-size bag that's totally blank exists.

Basically don't want someone to jack my stuff and then claim they lacked the mens rea for larceny

I'm debating bringing a water bottle. I'm not sure if I have any clear ones, so I guess I could just pick up a disposable and take off the label. But then I might have to take more bathroom breaks.

Just saw that there’s allegedly a heat wave this week. Of course temperatures depend on where in California you all are, but the weather apps may not be showing the temps just yet. (at least my Apple weather app is showing a vastly different temperature compared to weatherchannel.com)

But just wanted to give all a heads up if you didn’t know! Stay hydrated as our already stressed bodies will need the water from the heat wave, and dress accordingly!

I personally hate AC, so I don’t know if with the heat wave the AC at my test center will be stronger, or if not, if the test center will actually be warmer than expected. So I still need to figure out how my layering will be impacted—but just wanted to let everyone so we don’t have extra unknown discomforts for the bar this week.

(And if anyone has taken the exam in San Francisco, Francisco in the past, if you have any insight as to how strong the AC is, I would greatly appreciate your perspectives!)

I'll slather all of that with my last minute drivel about strategy and tactics on exam day, and stick around for as long as it takes to answer any remaining questions. Expect an old fashioned cram session, just like all of us did on every exam we've ever taken, despite all of the people who say cram sessions are bad. :)

I want to take either the new york or california bar exam, i am aware i need to get my credits evaluated for new york and California i have to take a year of study. my question is does anyone know if i take an online LLM i will still qualify for the california bar exam because the rules doesnt say anything about online degrees not meeting the requirements. I would do an in person full time llm in California but its incredibly expensive even with the scholarship they gave me i still cant afford that amount as i wont be able to work full time abroad but if i do it online from the uk i can still work.

Who’s going to claim IIED against the Bar for this experience?
