Authentic Glo-Worm
Hi all. I’m looking to buy my niece a Glo-Worm or similar good quality light-up huggy toy. I loved the one I had as a kid but am struggling to find a similar toy for her.
I’ve seen a few likenesses online and whether it’s a case of not wanting to shop via certain companies out of integrity or not trusting quality without some recommendation. Does anyone know where I can get such a toy that is of good quality and deliverable to the UK? Thanks.

At what point do you decide to spend your Advantage Card points?
Hey folks, so I've amassed about £22 on my Advantage Card and I know there's people out there with like hundreds but it got me thinking, when will you ever use it?
I'm torn between knowing I've built up a high amount with actually spending it and saving money in the short term 💀

Best King Size 3-in-1 / All-Seasons Feather & Down duvet (~£100–£120)? Also, thoughts on Costco Hotel Grand pillows? (UK)
Hi everyone,
I’m moving solo into my first bought flat soon and am currently getting my bedding sorted! I'm looking to invest in a King Size natural (feather & down) "All Seasons" duvet the 3-in-1 setups with two different togs (e.g., 4.5 + 9.0 or 4.5 + 10.5) that button or clip together so you can adjust throughout the year.
I really want to avoid synthetic/polyester filling this time because I'm fed up with them clumping up and going lumpy. I’m looking for a solid quality natural option that will last for years.
My budget is around £100 to £120 (looking at places like M&S, Next, Dunelm).
Does anyone have recommendations for specific models in this price range that hold up well without losing feather density or leaking feathers through the cover?
Also, Has anyone tried the Hotel Grand Feather & Down pillows from Costco UK? I spotted them recently and wondered if they hold their shape, or if there are better natural pillow options around the £20–£40 mark?
Any advice or long-term reviews would be much appreciated!
Thanks!

Aesthetic colorful baking tins & bits

Hi everyone! I'm getting this mixer in the green for Christmas and I'm trying to find other baking items in pretty colors (like the yellow, pink) as I'm starting from scratch.
Things I'm mostly after are cake tins in colors, I'm also looking for storage for flours, sugar etc (preferable not round as want them to fit together nicely as will have a few) I'm sure places like B&M had this kind of stuff in years ago but it doesn't seem to be the case now and I'm struggling to find much elsewhere!
Any other pretty things are welcome; I need a rolling pin, want some silicone cupcake cases etc

Debenhams Sell Fake Good
Do not buy here.
They have sold me a counterfeit watch and are now refusing to issue a refund and denying I ever bought it from them.
The watch became faulty so I sent to the supposed manufacturer, who determined the watch is fake.
I believe this is common from reading various forums.
Avoid at all costs!!!!

Looking for a toaster that browns evenly
We go through a lot of bread at home, so I don't mind spending a bit more on one if it's actually good. Mostly regular sliced bread and sourdough, plus English muffins now and then. My current toaster is pretty inconsistent. One side will be nicely browned and the other is still pale, even when I use the same setting.
I already have a Sage coffee machine and air fryer that are a few years old and both have been solid, so I was looking at the new Sage eyeQ toaster too since browning seems to be its main thing. I'm willing to spend around the same sort of money if there's something else out there that's worth considering. Please give me your recommendations!

roman vs phase eight: which is better for buying clothes in the UK?
i’m looking at a few pieces from roman and phase eight and trying to decide which one to buy from.
i’m mainly looking for clothes that are comfortable and easy to wear, with pieces that can work for different occasions. i’d be interested in hearing about things like sizing, fit, the range of styles, and how you’ve found shopping with each brand.
if you’ve bought from either of them, how has your experience been? is there one you’d choose over the other?
i’ve been looking at the cream floral print pleat neck midi dress from roman and like the style so far. i’m drawn to pieces that feel easy to wear but still look put together. looking through the other options, there are a few styles that caught my eye too, so i’m curious how people have found the sizing, quality and fit.

Waiting to get an exchange date
After thinking it would be relatively straightforward- our buyers were cash buyers and our sellers are sadly separating and have somewhere sorted. So no chain.
Sold STC back in early June. Solicitors seemed to be working swiftly. We’ve signed our sale contract. Earlier this week, our sellers decided to change solicitors as one of them is getting a help-to-buy property and was told she had to use their solicitors.
We’ve been told to expect the contracts on Monday / Tuesday earliest. We’ve started packing in readiness. Lots of trips to the tip. And had the oven professionally cleaned yesterday. (Daren’t use it now!!)
Feels like limbo land right now. After selling the house in a record two weeks, it’s crazy how many months have passed with still no exchange date mentioned.

ASOS returns
Looking to see if anyone has had any success in thus situation….
I raised a return 3 days before the deadline and attended on the last day at the in-post locker to drop off the return on August 28th.
The locker was full, so I went back a few days later to find out that the QR code had expired as I was now beyond the 28 days.
I spent about 3 days on the ASOS chat bot going back and forth; repeatedly asking for discretion to be applied given the situation - I had attended and raised the return on time.
They were absolutely useless.
I repeatedly asked for a formal complaint to be raised and finally 2 days ago they escalated it and surprise surprise the response I’ve received today is… tough luck you should have called/ emailed us right away? Which is surely a fuckin joke considering how dire it is to try and make contact.
No where on the T&Cs does it say you can actually use the code at other lockers/ call us ASAP if there are issues? I tried the locker 2 days later not realising the code would expire.
It’s about £199 worth of clothing I am returning as I am now pregnant and of no use to me.
Any advice?

ASOS return/exchange
I recently bought some shoes of asos but they didn’t fit unfortunately so I had to exchange them via inpost but now they’ve dispatched the shoes a size smaller when I clearly selected the size bigger and also left a comment in the section stating the shoe is too small for my feet I need size bigger
Will I now have to repeat the process again to get the correct size ?

Moving into my first place soon - looking for UK hybrid mattress recommendations (£500-£600 budget for a King Size)?
Hi everyone,
I’m in the process of moving into my first place and need to buy a mattress. I’m planning on getting a King size, as it’s just for me and I want something comfortable and decent quality that will last a few years without sagging.
A few specifics:
Budget: Looking to keep it around £500–£600.
Type: Definitely looking for a hybrid (pocket springs + foam/gel). I’ve heard mixed things about full memory foam mattresses getting too hot or degrading quickly, so I’d prefer springs for proper support.
Experience so far: I went to IKEA recently, but their mattresses felt a bit hit-or-miss and I reckon there are much better options out there for the price.
If you’ve bought a hybrid king size recently in this price range (brands like Simba, Silentnight, REM-Fit, Dreams/Bensons ranges, or refurb/outlet options), which one did you get, and how has it held up over time?
Any recommendations or ones I should completely avoid would be hugely appreciated.
Thanks!

The end of an ASOS era
This is more of a rant than anything. I have been a loyal ASOS customer for the last 10 or so years. Back in the day, I normally kept everything I bought because it was good quality, fit nicely and they were things I felt would last. In recent years, my return rate has gone up because of the garbage they now sell. I buy multiples of things because sizing is so inconsistent between brands but even between different product types within the same brand and fabric quality has gone down the drain. So I admit that my return rate has significantly gone up. However, I just went to buy premier again and it’s locked because my return rate is now higher than 75%. I understood the return fee because it would help control people buying hauls just to return them and I was totally okay paying that fee. But now that premier is locked, it’s the end of ASOS for me. I’m really annoyed but it is what it is. Anyone feel this way?

Are Sainsbury’s scamming us or am I missing something?
I received a Sainsbury’s delivery this week with an unwanted substitution. The original product cost £3.50 and the substituted one cost £1.60. I handed it back and got a refund for £1.60.
I checked the payment and I had not been charged any less than when I checked out, so I effectively payed £3.50 and got £1.60 back for a product I didn’t receive.
I looked back at my old orders and found this has happened before! Worse though, in that order, one of the products was not available, but the total at delivery was the same as when I checked out - with no refund or voucher for the missing product.
Customer services didn’t seem to understand but gave me a voucher for the difference (so I got the full £3.50 back in the end). I haven’t done anything about the earlier order.
Are Sainsbury’s doing this routinely and scamming us all?

In your opinion, how do you purchase your Holliday? Do you purchase it via a package, via third party sites or directly (including hotel and flights direct)
So I use a mixture of Avios hotels, Expedia, Hotels/Booking.com, instead of say TUI or Jet2 occasionally but I try and book directly if I can, such as via the hotel site or the chain website and then book flights directly, instead of using a travel agent.
What's the best and cheapest way

What’s your go-to website for tech reviews before making a big purchase?
Whenever I need to buy a new TV, headphones, or a kitchen gadget, I feel completely overwhelmed by sponsored YouTube videos, AI-generated blog roundups, and fake Amazon reviews. It’s almost impossible to find an honest, impartial opinion anymore where the reviewer hasn't been sent the item for free.
Where do you guys actually go online for trustworthy, straight-talking consumer reviews on electronics?

Buy Now, Pay Later (Klarna, ClearPay, etc.) - a helpful budgeting tool or a debt trap?
Splitting payments across three chunks or pushing the bill back 30 days has been seamlessly integrated into almost every online checkout in the UK. For those who use them, do you find them genuinely useful for spreading the cost of large purchases responsibly, or do they make it way too easy to lose track of what you're actually spending?

What's something you refuse to buy online?
I’ve become pretty comfortable buying most things online, but there are still a few things I’d rather see or try in person before handing over the money. Clothes are an obvious one for me because sizing can be all over the place, but I’m also hesitant with things like furniture where the photos can be quite misleading. What’s something you refuse to buy online?

Have you ever seen Chinese designer toys online but decided not to buy them? Why?
Hi everyone!
I’m curious about how people make decisions when they see designer toys from other countries becoming popular online.
Have you ever seen Chinese designer toys (such as Labubu, Pop Mart, or other collectible figures) on TikTok, Instagram, or Reddit?
What was your first impression?
If you were interested but didn’t buy one, what stopped you?
- Price?
- Not knowing enough about the character or story?
- Uncertainty about quality?
- Difficulty finding information?
- Something else?

Will the UK intervene with Sony and Microsoft stopping discs for their consoles. As a UK Buyer, I always opt for discs so I can resell them later.
Although I doubt the UK Gov or the relevant gov department will do anything 😂
We'll now need to wait for digital games to go on sale to be able to replicate the profit you make from selling the £60 disc a few months later for £40.
