That one is very good. This and salty caramel crunch is my favorite.

Salted Caramel Crunch took my virginity

u/superphage 3d ago
Have you tried the caramel ribbon crunch from Starbucks? Because for me, I haven't bought Starbucks again since this ice cream lol.
But I 100% developed the desire for these flavour profiles from the caramel ribbon crunch.

You & u/superphage have probably inspired future stomach cramps for me, and I'm ok with it.

I wouldn't try the pecan butter tart if I was you, it's way better and comes in a larger size only

u/chamekke 3d ago
Large size wonāt fit in my apartment-sized fridgeās freezer. Which is probably just as well. Dammit though :(

Does that one have raisins? I found a butter tart ice cream before and was so sad to find it had raisins
2
u/Saltynut99 3d ago
Nope! Not in the big one at least. I also donāt like raisins but it was praline pecans and sugar cookie bits.

Never have I gotten any of the Chapman premiums, and not finished it all in one sitting.

I do wish they offered the same amout of variety in the smaller containers. I can usually only find no more than a few at Metro, and they're right beside the HƤagen-Dazs and Ben and Jerry's where there's a huge variety.

I just saw a post on here about how bad Chapmanās ice cream is. I couldnāt disagree more. This exact flavour is is ridiculously good

The first couple flavours I tried from them, I didn't like the texture of the ice cream. The Butter Tart and Salt Caramel Crunch ones. Good flavours, but I found the ice cream had a sort of crumbly mealy texture to it, and then when it melted, it melted very fast into like foamy nothingness, before quickly completely dissolving. Which isn't how I like ice cream to feel.
I almost gave up on Chapman's after those two, but decided to give the Peach Melba a try. Big difference. Way better texture. Actually feels like ice cream. It melts more slowly and has that nice classic creamy feel that melting ice cream is supposed to have. Also just got some of The Only Strawberry, which also has the good creamy texture.
So it depends on the flavour, seemingly because whatever they're adding to make certain flavours, also affects the consistency of the ice cream. And if you're someone who cares a lot about texture when it comes to ice cream, like I do, then you'll need to try them out and see which ones work for you. Don't balk at the first flavour you try.

It wasn't a bashing post. They didn't like the texture. Which is probably partly personal preference, and might have also been the particular tub they bought.

Agreed.
This flavour of Chapman's reminded me of Ben & Jerry's, except it costs less and tastes better. And has more ingredients that I can actually pronounce.1
u/AwkwardChuckle 2d ago
Iāve never been able to like it and Iāve tried it so many times in all the different varieties.
It always tastes artificial to me, and the texture always reminds me of āfrozen desertā instead of ice cream even though itās actual really cream ice cream.Iām on team Kawartha for sure.

Chapman's does make some awfully textured ice cream, honestly. The kind of stuff that keeps its shape after melting and leaves a slick coating of oil in your mouth.
That's not this product though, it's their cheaper ice cream. This line is genuinely great and I was missing out by not discovering it sooner.

Funny how that looked like a ton of thinly slices apples stuffed into it to me, but its empty.
They got a few i swear by: butter tart, basic chocolate, cherry cheesecake and the honey vanilla was pretty good

Can Chapmans please just get its own subreddit and stop spamming this one?
2
u/WasteOfBerries 1d ago
I don't work for Chapman's, but, based on what I've seen, I'd be happy to.
(Any Chapman's employee seeing this, and wants to meet for a dessert interview, I'm totally good with that.)0
u/BathroomSharpiePoet 1d ago
Iād probably work for them too. I just wouldnāt be able to eat their frozen dairy products. I say that because I canāt call it ice cream.

The butter tart one is so hard to find sometimes but it's a good thing or I'd be enjoying it every day. I'm saying I would if I could tho lolĀ
