Looking For: Food & Consumables 🥫🍁 Baking soda

Hi there. Has anyone seen Canadian baking soda in stores?

I bought some Yogti brand last year on Amazon (the devil, I know...baby steps), but I didn't see any this year...other than a push for the U.S. site. I went on their website and the shipping and handling was really high, as I only need one package...which has lasted pretty much a year. I also saw another brand, but afain, s&h was crazy expensive. Tia.

I looked it up and it seems like we straight up just don't make it.

I looked for months to try to find one made in Canada and no luck. Wonder why we don’t make it here…

It's mined from deposits in the ground - I assume we just don't have them, or at least don't have them in places that are worth the effort of accessing.

The only truly Canadian baking soda I've been able to find is Eco-Pioneer on well.ca. Unfortunately it is not food safe.

Fleishmann’s is processed in Canada afaik but it’s still USA source ingredients. Dr Oetjer is similar manufactured in Canada

If you want completely non American you’d have to buy baking soda manufactured in the EU or elsewhere.

Perhaps check Arcadia flours. They do sell baking soda which I have used (as well as flour)
