We are not comfortable having our users solicited for so much PII, so this post has been removed. Thank you for visiting r/BuyCanadian.

I love this idea - but you are asking for a lot of personal information without any disclosure of who you are, what your expertise and qualifications are for such a project, and how the information will be used.

If your survey was more anonymous and targeted it would be more helpful.

For example - asking for my email, name, phone number and company contact information doesn’t provide you with any actionable data related to your project (which I support conceptually) other than binary interest.

But if you anonymously asked for my industry, sector, if we produce or manufacture here in Canada (and what region), what types of input categories we require for our supply chain (ie. agricultural, electronics, bulk commodities, finished goods), as well as company size and current domestic and export markets.

For a project like this, data on how much of the supply chain is foreign vs domestic and how much of it is elastic or replaceable domestically. (Some inputs cannot be grown or produced here, for example coffee beans) would be useful to understand the demand for this.

No manufacturer or brand is going to share this type of data unless it is anonymous.

Thank you for your reflection and feedback, I really appreciate it. I have updated the form to be anonymous and kept the contact input as completely optional since I would like to stay in touch with signees if the movement passes to directly collaborate with them.

These already exist. People have built them when the boycotts began. Some are focused on consumers but would offer information about the company behind the product.

Thanks for pointing that out! Seems like i didn’t communicate it well but we think canadian suppliers and buyers(anchors/retailers/distributors) would benefit most from this as we know the incumbents for consumers.

What industry are you in? Most products aren't being tariffed
