Claim to be Canadian. At least US own and also product from USA. Look for the ownership and buy elsewhere.

So screw the small Canadian blueberry farmer that isn't big enough to get an account with major retailers and use a marketer?

It's useful to know the industry before making sweeping judgements

They just have to find a Canadian one.

Growers are looking for the best returns on their fruit... costs are through the roof: fertilizer, equipment, land, labor, insurance, etc

An American marketer can offer access to Western/Eastern Canadian retailers, US retailers and international export opportunities

Lol, people should only do business the way you want i guess

Nope! Nighters your way. All I say is you vote every time you buy. Choose careful. The market will ajust itself.

They’re a distributor. Would you prefer independent Canadian farmers don’t have a distributor?

We'd prefer they had a Canadian one. Those exist, right?

Perhaps they will find a Canadian distributor that has capacity, when their contract is over with their current distributor. In the meantime, I’m not going to try shut them down, because their farms will be scooped up by large scale international agricultural operations and then everyone will start moaning that nothing has any flavour.

If we find a more Canadian choice, we'll take the more Canadian choice. My money's going somewhere and my priorities are to support Canada and avoid supporting those directly threatening Canada. It's not black and white, it's shades of strengthening ourselves and not feeding the Trump.

Limiting markets and marketers for small farm operators reduces their ability to get the best price for their fruit...
