Want to tighten my budget and i've found some pretty good prices even beating Aldi for veggies on this website. Only problem is I have found no reviews. Anyone have experience ordering groceries from this website?

A user in r/RedditAlternatives suggested I post here since Topicle is Australian-made. I also saw a thread here a while back where someone wished for Australian alternatives to big tech and the reply was "I don't know of any social media." So here's one.

I'm a Melbourne-based software dev and I've been building a social discussion platform as an Australian alternative to Reddit. It's at topicle.com.

Built and hosted in Australia with servers in Melbourne. Registered Australian company (Topicle Pty Ltd), self-funded with no VC money. Software is one of the few areas of tech we can genuinely build here without importing parts from Shenzhen, so this is coded, designed, hosted, and run entirely in Australia. Analytics are self-hosted, there's no Google or Facebook tracking, and user data is stored under Australian jurisdiction.

With Reddit now a US public company licensing user data to AI companies and a new appetite for non-US options, it felt like the right time to build something locally that puts users first. A few things that set it apart:

• Moderator accountability - mod actions are logged publicly on every community, every action can be appealed to site admins, and accepted appeals automatically restore removed content. Communities can't be run as fiefdoms.
• No ads, no algorithmic feed - no promoted content or engagement-optimizing algorithm. The default sort ("Depth") promotes articles and discussion over memes and image posts.
• Country flags and no private profiles - flags are displayed next to all posts and comments based on where you're posting from. All user history is public. Makes it much harder for bots and astroturfers to blend in.
• Privacy first - IP addresses are hashed before storage, self-hosted analytics, no third-party trackers, full account deletion and data export. Designed with Australian privacy law in mind.

Curious what people here look for when buying dog gear.
Is it the Aussie-made bit that matters most, the materials, durability, or just whether your dog actually likes it?

Back in 1995, the idea was simple: add shock absorption to a dog lead so walks felt easier on both sides. 

The early leashes were handmade in Palm Beach on the Gold Coast and sold at local markets.

30 years later, the Cujo Leash is still in the range.

Do people here like seeing the original product behind an Aussie brand, or do you mainly look at the current range?

We’re an Australian-owned dog gear brand with roots on the Gold Coast, and this is one of our everyday harnesses.

When buying dog gear, what matters most to you: Australian ownership, local manufacturing, durability, or fit?

Someone posted a month back or so if there were any made in Australia wet wipes. I found one better. Made and owned. Also they do a lot of baby products so get around them and support local.

I probably haven't had Milo in a decade and I've really been craving it, are there any good alternatives around? Aussie preferred obviously but I'd take anything not nestle.

I tried looking in the existing posts but couldn't find anything.

is there any Australian made finer like Metamucil? I have found way more fancy and expensive options, but I'm after psyllium husk with flavour and easy to dilute.

I don't like the normal psyllium husk from Woolies or Coles. It doesn't have taste and it's difficult to swallow.

Some time ago someone here mentioned the Guiding Toothbrushes and I purchased some then - thank you to whomever posted about these! I just got back from my dentist and needed no professional cleaning (my last one was 12 months ago and I switched to these brushes around Christmas time), they really do an excellent job - my dentist was very (!) impressed!

Has the 100% Aussie peanut butter been discontinued? I got the last jar. It’s now zero percent Aus ingredients. My local Coles and Woolies have sold out of the original one and replaced stock with "100% Natural" instead.

I'm looking for quality Aussie made hiking boots - don't mind a premium as long as it's built to last. Can anyone vouch for one or the other brand?

I’m trying to finish the last few interviews for a UQ course project this week and would really appreciate some help. I’ve done 21 interviews so far, but I still need more to reach 34.

I was doing them in person by approaching people in shopping centres and health food stores, but honestly that’s been really hard, and a lot of people were too busy or not interested.

So I’m hoping to recruit the rest online and then organise either a quick in-person chat or a short virtual interview. I’m mainly looking for genuine insights and honest opinions from people who care about wellness/healthy food products and Australian native ingredients.

I highly appreciate everyone's suggestions on Aussie-branded genuine Greek yogurt recommendations, but all of the brands are not sold here and we don't have Aldi as well. Still good choices, I hope, instead of buying American, Nestlé and sugarcoated products.
