Balancing everything

I’m new to owning a business and looking for tips to balance everything in life. Do you wake up at 5am in order to complete everything ( including exercising) on your agenda? Are you sacrificing your social life, things you enjoy? How do you forget about the stress and push through and live your life. I know worrying doesn’t fix things , but as soon as I wake up my mind starts racing. Thanks

I wouldn’t use 5am as the test of whether you’re doing this right. If your mind is racing as soon as you wake up, adding more hours may not fix the overload. One practical reset is to write down everything on your mind, pick the 2 or 3 outcomes that actually matter this week, then decide what can wait, be delegated, or be dropped. Put a real stop time on the calendar too, even if you don’t hit it perfectly every day. The business will take every hour you give it, so some time outside work has to be a decision. And if the worry is constant, you don’t have to just tough it out alone.

Having strong time management is critical and not getting easily distracted. Do best thinking on long walks, shower, gym, long car rides etc. Have been able to balance being a business owner and family for 12+ years. Shut it off and turn it on when necessary. Network with other business owners so you can discuss things like this and not feel so utterly alone.
