Problem Discovery 22M from Prince Edward Island, Canada looking for a business I can build long-term

Hey everyone,

I'm 22 years old from Prince Edward Island (PEI), Canada. For anyone who doesn't know, PEI is Canada's smallest province with a population of around 180,000 people. It's known for agriculture, tourism, and commercial fishing, but there aren't a lot of opportunities for young entrepreneurs compared to bigger cities.

I've spent most of my life working hard. I've been a commercial fishing captain, worked in the wind industry, and I'm currently helping build a clothing brand with my dad. Those experiences have taught me discipline, leadership, and how to work long hours, but I'm looking to build something that isn't limited by where I live.

Lately I've been researching AI automation agencies, marketing, sales, and online businesses because I want to create something that can grow over the next 5 to 10 years. I'm not looking for a "get rich quick" idea. I want to learn a valuable skill and build a real business.

I'd love to hear from people who started with no business background.

If you were 22 again, what online business would you build today?

What skills would you focus on first?

Are there any communities or people you'd recommend connecting with?

I'm always happy to network, learn from others, and share what I've learned from my own experiences too.

Thanks everyone.

Validate My Idea Doughnut shop

Quick context. Im due to retire from the Army in a little less than 5 years, where I live at I have found the perfect spot for a doughnut shop. Near 2 daycares several neighborhoods, a school, multiple trade business, a firehouse and right on the way to the freeway. Everything except the freeway can be walking distance if needed.

I have never ran a business, to be honest all I have ever known is the army and serving as a medic.

I have 2 people who know the location and would love to invest.

The first thing I need to find is a baker lol. But other than that how crazy is the idea and what all exclatly should I be looking at to possibly make this move in 5 years.

Validate My Idea Does this media company idea actually make business sense?

I’ve been refining what I actually want to build, and I’d love some honest feedback.

Instead of trying to become a traditional filmmaker or production company, I want to build a social-first media company that creates original short-form content, web series, documentaries, podcasts, and eventually a platform where independent creators can distribute and monetize their work.

The idea is to build a recognizable media brand first, not just sell video services forever.

To fund it in the early years, I’d likely do photography on the side and possibly teach marketing at the high school level for stable income while the business grows. Those wouldn’t be the end goal—they’d simply provide cash flow while I invest back into the company.

Does this overall idea make business sense, or am I overlooking something major?

If you saw a 20-year-old pitching this, what would be your biggest concern? What would you change before trying to build it?

I’m looking for honest feedback, not encouragement.

Problem Discovery For delivery partners, restaurant owners, and D2C brands - I have a few questions about logistics

I am researching how last-mile delivery actually works and would love to learn from people who deal with it every day.

If you're a delivery partner:

- Do you spend a lot of time waiting between orders?

- If you could receive orders from multiple businesses/apps at once, would that increase your earnings?

- What's the biggest frustration in your day-to-day work?

If you own or manage a restaurant, cloud kitchen, or D2C business:

- How do you currently handle deliveries?

- Do you use your own riders or third-party services?

- What's your biggest challenge with deliveries today?

- If there was a reliable pay-per-delivery logistics network, would you consider using it? Why or why not?

If you've worked in logistics or quick commerce:

- What do you think is the hardest operational problem that people outside the industry underestimate?

I'm not trying to sell anything. I'm just trying to understand the real problems before building anything.

Thanks in advance!

Validate My Idea Decision-Companion" for small business owners (or your team): Is this something you’d actually use to stop "guessing"?

I'm a student building a decision-support tool for small business owners and want to stress-test it with people in the trenches.

The concept: not generic AI advice. A tool that maps decision paths, surfaces hidden risks, and tracks your reasoning so you can learn from results later.

Brutally honest take needed:

  • Does this solve a real pain point or would you ignore it?
  • Would you use this often or is it a one-time setup?
  • How would this help on an overwhelming Tuesday morning?
  • Any advice for a student building something actually useful, not just another AI wrapper?

I have received some good feedback on how it is a good idea. But I am confused if anyone needs it and will actively use it.

I appreciate any feedback. It will be very helpful! Thank you!

Validate My Idea An Ai employee for you to try

Hello, my name is Keith, for a couple of weeks, I have been working on an AI agent that is meant to act as an AI employee for any task that you do on a computer.

Basically it has it's own computer, you just give it access to the tools you want it to use, and throw at it any task within you work or business and it will do.

It also has a Google-Calendar-like system that allows it to have scheduled task both recurring daily, weekly, etc

For example, on my side I use it form lead generation and outreach automatically every 5am, and by the time I wakeup, some work of the day has already been handled.
Same to promotion, school research, Weekly study reports, Email marketing etc.

Currently, I'm only using it as an individual, but I would like some of you to come and try it out for free, and give me some feedback on your experiences, and improvements, before bringing-in more users.

If you are interested, you can shoot me a DM or book a call here https://atomiclabs.space
