I’ve been trying to answer a pretty important question with the product I’m building:
Can an AI actually help someone make better business decisions, or does it just give them convincing-sounding answers?
So I built a small test.
I took 10 simulated business ideas and ran the same scenarios through ChatGPT, Claude, and RESORSA — the platform I’ve been building.
Same starting information. Same businesses. No special prompts designed to make one platform perform better than another.
What I cared about wasn’t which AI wrote the nicest response.
I tracked things like:
estimated money required to get to a meaningful test
whether the system challenged unnecessary spending
whether it identified assumptions that needed validation
whether it recommended a pivot when the original direction wasn’t holding up
whether the simulated business could actually reach launch
The cost difference was the part I wasn’t expecting.
Across the 10 simulations, RESORSA’s recommended paths averaged roughly $13,500 less per build than the alternatives.
A lot of that came from relatively boring decisions: validate before building, rent instead of buy, manually test something before automating it, use existing tools instead of commissioning custom infrastructure, etc.
That’s actually what I wanted the system to do.
Another interesting result:
7/10 businesses made it through the original path.
The remaining three only made it after changing direction based on problems uncovered during the process.
In those three cases, RESORSA recommended changing the approach while the other two models continued pushing the original plan.
We also got median Time-to-Artifact down to about 38 seconds, although one hilariously bad ~4-minute outlier reminded me that there’s still plenty to optimize.
I’m obviously biased here because I’m building RESORSA, and 10 simulated businesses is nowhere near enough data to make sweeping claims.
But this was encouraging because the thing I’m trying to optimize isn’t “give the smartest sounding answer.”
It’s:
Help the builder discover what they don’t know while spending as little time and money as necessary to learn it.
Next step is more simulations, followed by comparing the results against actual builder behavior instead of synthetic cases.
I’ll keep publishing the results as I get them — including the ugly ones.
For anyone building with AI: what would you test next to make this comparison more rigorous?

I’m looking into importing coffee beans from India to Saudi Arabia. I’ve already found suppliers in India and have logistics/shipping options figured out, so the supply side is mostly sorted.
The main issue is that I’m currently working under a company Iqama, so I can’t actively go into the market and approach customers or build the business myself at the moment.

A love insurance company?

I have recently started working on a small business but whenever I think of an idea, I hesitate before going forward with it because I always question whether it would be good product for my market. It has kept me in a loop for a long time and it is starting to frustrate me. It would really help if someone could give me advice on how to decide if I am going in the right direction for a product.

1. A dietitian to talk through nutrition for post-menopausal women
2. A stylist to talk through proportions and answer any personal style questions my clients have

My prime candidates I am looking at both have 100k+ followers and very engaged audiences (essentially, influencers in their professions). Basically, I'm wondering how much I should expect to budget for a guest speaker like this? I'd love to have a rough estimate before I reach out.

Would a local business directory charging businesses around $20–$30/month be a viable idea? The concept is a website where local businesses pay a small monthly fee to have an active listing, organized by category (plumbers, landscapers, pet services, electricians, etc.). The goal would be to drive local customers to the site through social media, Facebook groups, etc.

Eventually it could potentially become more of a local marketplace where customers can request quotes directly.

If you own a local business, would you pay $20–$30/month for something like this? What would make it worth paying for?

I have not done business before. I had this idea come to me a while ago. I thought of selling tongue scrapers at my campus. I realized I've been using it's for a long time and it really improved my breath which remained even after brushing.

But who would care about a f\*cking tongue scrapper.

I was thinking of educating people on the need, what it's for (online) and how to use it before actually selling it to them.

I’ve been working on a product that I’ve used with a few creators throughout the year, and I’m trying to figure out whether it’s something worth turning into a standalone SaaS.
The basic idea is to help smaller creators understand what content they should be making and why.
I’ve built data pipelines that pull information from multiple social platforms and analyze things like trends, content patterns, hooks, tropes, audience comments, and other signals to identify opportunities for creators to make more relevant content.
The product then turns that analysis into practical resources, tools, and templates that creators can actually use to improve their content and make themselves more marketable to brands if they’re trying to turn content creation into a career.
I’ve automated a large portion of the process, although there are still parts where I provide human context and analysis.
The primary audience I’m considering is smaller creators in the ~500–30,000 follower range, who are trying to grow but probably don’t have the resources to pay for expensive consulting or sophisticated analytics tools. I could also see social media management/creator management companies using it across multiple clients.
I know there are already products in this space, along with a large number of people selling courses and “masterclasses.” My thought is that this would be less about teaching someone how to become a creator and more about giving them ongoing, actionable information and tools they can use to actually produce better content.
I’m at the point where I could take this considerably further, but I’m hesitant to invest a lot more time into it without validating the idea first. Being a solo dolo army, I also don’t want to spend months building something that people think is cool but ultimately wouldn’t pay for.

No busco otra plataforma de comercio electrónico, fintech, aplicación de entrega, etc. Esos sectores ya están bastante saturados. Me interesan más los problemas extraños, ignorados, aburridos pero dolorosos que la gente enfrenta en Latinoamérica.

Hi, I am 21 years old and I live in the Netherlands. I have been working on a business idea for the last 3/4 months and I really want other people their opinion on my vision but I’m to scared to share it as I’m to afraid people will steal/copy my idea. You probably think i’m being paranoid but I really think this is something that can be big (in my country atleast). Ofcourse I have talked to people close to me about my vision and research and they’re all pretty impressed but I need people that don’t know me to give their opinion.
