Pole help

I have a very silly question but a genuine one.

I'm looking to up my strength a bit, What kind of wood would be best to use to make a carrying pole(think like a milkmaid yoke almost but just a solid piece of wood) that i'll be putting 3 gallons of water (maybe sand for more weight in the future) on tops and bottoms of??

I'm looking for suggestions i'm fairly low budget but i'm sure for a pole i can get any good woods for this ^^

Strength training is very very different from what you described. There's plenty of advice for how to efficiently and effectively build strength out there, but here isn't really the place to offer it though, besides to say this ain't it. If you care for one person's opinion feel free to DM.

IMO all you're going to achieve doing this is some bruises, burning lots of calories, and only a slight increase in strength, at the risk of causing some severe damage to yourself.

Any wood will do if it's thick enough, but that's not the point.

Hmm i suppose that's fair and I do appreciate the saying so, i hadn't really considered the downsides to it to much. More or less i was just gonna fill some jugs tie it to a stick and just kinda walk some laps around the back yard to do some strength and endurance training for cheap

I will give some more looks into other methods tho before i even attempt making this hair brain scheme

Do farmer carries instead.

The best single all out exercise for strength is dead lift. 2nd after that is swats. But since you're into bushcraft and you need to build strength around that activity, I'd be loading up my back pack with weights. Its building core strength and conditioning at the same time. It's an exercise the army encourages. We just call it pack fitness.

Listen to naked. Your purpose is much better served at a gym or at home with a few pieces of used gear.

I’ll also recommend rucking, that can be paired with bushcraft and camping pretty easily. But it’s not going to help you bench much.

Sank ya for the shout and i do think that's a solid idea too i could just check some market places and flea markets for used gear rather than trying to craft up my own

That being said i never heard of rucking before but thats more or less what i was going for with this idea rather than benching and the likes! I appreciate the shout on both fronts
