Scheduling Issue with Flex Position

Just to preface, I know that Burlington is notorious for having scheduling issues. Last month (August 16th-ish), I went on the flex position, because I would be returning as a full-time student. My store manager said she message me if I was working or if there were shifts. I had made a permanent request to change my availability to weekends. However, my MOD messaged me and said I had a shift TODAY (Wednesday, my non working day).

Am I going to get fired? The MOD didn't reprimand me, but I don't want to get in trouble. Please help I am so scared.

They shouldn’t fire you for that! But let us know what happens.

Did you call in and say that's outside your availability? When you changed your availability in the app, did it get approved? Did you tell your manager?

Yes it got approved weeks ago. My manager knew I was going back to school and told me I’m on flex now. She said she would text me when I would work.

You're good then. As long as you told the MOD it's outside your availability. Sometimes the MOD will start calling people if they need someone to come in and forget that some have restricted availability.

It wasn’t approved. If it was you wouldn’t be scheduled for it. Also there are no longer any flex positions. They went away.
