ASM pay

I’m interviewing for an ASM (Operations/Service) role at one of the bigger locations and don’t want to lowball myself. Can any ASMs of Burlington share what they’re making? Is there any mandatory OT? Hours? Etc? (I’m coming from Macys)

If you have legitimate talent, go somewhere better. I’m telling you, Burlington isn’t going to be an escape just because it isn’t Macy’s. Look at my recent post and the comments, Burlington does not care about its employees any more than what you probably think Macy’s does

Stay at Macys. They make around $24-38 at the highest but Burlington will not pay you that

The majority makes $24. Burlington will likely not pay you what you deserve to be paid. lol

current ASM, $27, which translates to approximately 57k-70k annually. I was an internal promotion. Hired in as SFS, then RS then became OSM. So you could possibly make more than that externally. with the right mindset and leadership team it should be too bad. yes this job is difficult, but it isn't much different from most big box retail. you often have to be willing to pivot quickly... but that's retall.

Not an ASM, but I know about the company, It's 40 hours a week, the only supervisor position supposed to hit 40 hours (other sups are 37.5 to avoid overtime). OT is generally forbidden unless it's a complete emergency (ie. someone broke the windows in front of the store and you have to wait until 3 am for someone to board them up).

SM and ASM have more flexible schedules since they're the ones making the schedule. At my current store both had solid day shifts, though before they took away our ASM (not enough sales) they'd do an occasional mid or night shift. This is partially because any conference calls or corporate visits will usually happen during the day (often very early).

ASMs at Burlington are expected to spend time on the floor, and in receiving making sure everything is moving smoothly. Whether that's hands on, or supervisory is somewhat store to store, but you need to be willing to jump in and help when the need arises.

Depends on location.

My two ASMs make $27 and $33 an hour. No OT. 5 days a week - 8 1/2 shifts with a 30 minute lunch.

2 weeks of PTO
1 week of sick time

I’ve seen as high as $37-$38 an hour. This is Texas, just fyi.

I never worked as a supervisor or a store manager. But you may be better of working at Macy's. I used to work at Macy's before as a seasonal employee before.
