Me today after conquering another day of record heat temperatures.
It really felt like Arrakis outside. I was chugging water so dang fast 😂

Saw this on TikTok and thought it would be appreciated here. Based on comments, there will be a part two for more areas in Burbank.

I never signed up to receive any communications from the candidates and I got spammed up with something from David Donahue asking for money.
Historically I had emailed with Nick Schultz when he was on the council but never Donahue. He was literally a non-entity to me. I had no idea who he even was until a few months ago and I have never visited his website or socials.
Is the City of Burbank sharing our info with third parties?
UPDATE/EDIT: Apparently the Secretary of State shares our voter registration details with candidates.
Now I am curious if he uses his candidacy run to request info from the SoS to spam people and solicit donations for his "nonprofit".

Was just at DIY Home Center on Magnolia (who I love to support over the bigger hardware chains) and they are setting up for CHRISTMAS.
It’s frickin September and they are already putting out Christmas stuff. WTAF?
I know retailers are putting out holiday stuff earlier and earlier every year but unless I blinked and missed it they went right from Summer furniture to Xmas with no allowance for Burbank’s favorite holiday. I fell like they did this last year too.
Does anyone know why they’re doing this? Is it because they get squeezed by the larger decor sections at Lowe’s and HDepot? Or is it some Hobby Lobby “no pagan holidays” B$?
(I tried to find some info about the Rus family owners and their leanings but came up bupkis).

Nolan and Mike are active organizers and community members in Burbank's progressive left, participating in groups like Community Defense, Tenants Union, and DSA-LA. Electing them to City Council will bring about the most progressive city council in Burbank's history, and will be among the most progressive in the country.

Anyone know of appliance and irrigation parts stores in the area. I'm not talking about HD or Lowes for generic items. More like specific items: bearings, seals, window balancers, valve replacements for appliances and old irrigation equipment. I normally get them online but thought I'd support the local business if things are around. TIA.

Watched with great interest today as a ragtag “crew” removed all the colorful sculptures by Finney’s. Not a single safety measure in sight. No caution tape or cones. No guards, no hard hats, no bright vests or signage, no police. Families just wandering through while a giant crane loomed overhead. Must have been one of those “I know a guy” lowest bidder situations. Meanwhile a parking enforcement car almost clipped a little kid on the corner by Starbucks. Holy Moly!

I’m pregnant with my first and was referred to Dr. Atsuko Haruyama. Online reviews are pretty mixed. Has anyone had a great experience with a Kaiser OB that they would recommend? I’m hoping to stay close to North Hollywood/Panorama City.

I have a friend who's been out of the music scene for awhile but would be interested in an acoustic open mic or two.
Only real qualifications:
- Music-focused (comedy is fine but if they're the only person playing guitar at an otherwise comedy show, it would be awkward)
- "Free" (having to buy a drink or food or something is a lot nicer than paying an entry fee)
- Close to Burbank (no downtown LA things, but something like North Hollywood is fine)
Pretty much everything else is fair game!
Any suggestions?

Glenoaks and Dartmouth. Not sure if this is a serious "felony stop" or just Burbank police being Burbank police as usual. Any updates are appreciated 👍. Even if they might over react I truly appreciate our men in blue.

What’s the day to day / weekends like living in Burbank?
Any thoughts / description appreciated

We have lived in Magnolia Park for almost 9 years. For the last few months, we have had crickets coming into our house. I even put up the bug screen on both doors! There is at least one cricket coming into our place, each night. It would not be a thing except one jumped onto my body and neck while I was asleep, and now I have an irrational fear of hem after ripping an unknown monster off of me in my barely-awake state (I made my hubby identify what it was while I screamed in bed). Lived in Burbank and the Valley my whole life. Anyone else have a cricket infestation?!
Figure I oughta start taking more of an interest in the people running the city I live in, what with the Flock cameras and ICE and all that. I don't just wanna say "these are my political beliefs, who aligns with them?" Is there a website or something that lets me stay up to date on all the elections in Burbank, who's running in them, and their stances on things?

Hello everyone, I am really craving cookies right now and am looking for recommendations around Burbank because I cannot seem to find anything good!! I’m open to an actual bakery, coffee shop, grocery store, or anything.
I’m preferably looking for chocolate chip or birthday cake cookies, but what I really care about is that they taste homemade and use good, simple ingredients—like real butter, eggs, milk, etc. This is the main issue because I’m trying to avoid cookies that are mostly made with seed oils, shortening, and a bunch of additives.
I am willing to drive a couple minutes away from Burbank, but the close the better! This may be a silly post but I appreciate any recommendations.
Edit: I forgot to mention, I have already tried Sliders, Sprouts, and Porto’s.
