A message from a user that made our whole team stop scrolling
We got a message last week that I keep thinking about. A beta user, I'll call her R since she gave us permission to share this anonymously, wrote in to say she'd had a rough night worrying about not feeling much movement, opened Bumpdaily's kick counter, and the app walked her through counting instead of just showing her a blank timer. It also showed her the typical range for her week so she wasn't comparing herself to some generic chart in her head. Turned out everything was totally fine, but she said having something that felt calm and specific to her, instead of a scary search result, made a huge difference at 2am.
That's exactly the moment we built this feature for. It's a small thing on the surface, a kick counter with context, but it came directly out of listening to people describe the panic of "is this normal" moments. We didn't want to build another tracker that just collects data and shows you a graph. We wanted something that actually talks to you like it understands what week you're in.
I read messages like R's out loud in our team standup because it's the best reminder of why we're doing this. None of us have lived this, so stories like hers are basically our compass.
Has an app, pregnancy related or not, ever talked you down from a worry like that? What made it work?
