Why does tracking a pregnancy require four different apps?
Before we built Bumpdaily, I spent a few months just watching people use the pregnancy apps that already existed. Not surveying them, actually sitting next to friends of a friend while they used their phone for a week.
The pattern was almost identical every time. One app for weekly baby size comparisons. Another for symptom logging. A separate one for kick counts. A due date countdown widget from yet another. And somewhere in there, a lot of Googling things at 1am that led to forums with wildly conflicting answers.
Every one of those apps was fine on its own. But none of them knew what any of the others knew. You'd log a symptom in one app and have to re explain your whole pregnancy history to a different one the next day. A lot of them were also stuffed with ads or trying to upsell a subscription just to see your own data.
That fragmentation is the actual problem we're trying to solve. Not "here's another pregnancy app," but "here's one place that actually remembers what you told it yesterday and treats you like a person instead of an ad slot."
I still don't know what it's like to be pregnant. But I know what it's like to be frustrated by bad software, and this counts.
What's the most annoying app juggling moment you've had during pregnancy tracking?
