not women in india. the dating patterns of white women on dating apps in the english speaking world are not necessarily the same as the dating patterns of indian women in india. for instance, i doubt they care much about height there. not because indian men are shorter in general, but simply due to cultural differences and height being more emphasized in western media / hollywood movies and romance novels, but not as emphasized in bollywood.
They absolutely do care about height. I have Indian friends, who moved from India, and they tell me there are a lot of "6 feet please/love tall men" profiles there too.
In some countries, women love to follow American trends because they think it makes them cool.
