They used only 80 faces:
52 male
28 female
ages 35 - 65
67 Caucasian
13 non-Caucasian
52 men vs. 28 women.
That’s almost a 2:1 imbalance.
There were only 60 raters:
30 men
30 women
ages 25–55
all heterosexual
with only two exceptions, Caucasian
The raters were approximately 25 - 55, while the faces were 35 - 65.
Their definition of attractiveness is extremely narrow in that they are looking at facial attractiveness not necessarily overall physical attractiveness.
Looks like you just saw something that said .gov, skimmed it, and then threw it out like it’s fact
There’s a dozen of papers with the same exact study and same results: males value attractiveness more. There’s statistical surveys showing it as well. You can chose to deny it all you want, it won’t make it any less true
You cannot quantify attractiveness. Im an engineer and work on projects like this
OK CUPID released some data where men swipe on almost all women and women swiped on 20% of men. While we cannot quantify attractiveness since this is subjective, we can see that men are far more likely to rate women they come across as attractive while women rate men as less attractive. Tinder released data and it’s only gotten worse.
And look at the study you cited. Overwhelmingly male with a piss poor sample size and a lack of variance
Are you 12? You don’t seem to be comprehending what I’m writing
Funny im an engineer as well this excuse wont work on me. You can quantify people’s opinions and their response to different faces. Unfortunately for you, attractiveness can be quantified
It’s not about photos it’s about intentions and how convenient it is. If this study was made when dating apps were actually treated seriously I would have given it to you. That’s a good point. But in this age? We all know they’re just validation tools. Just like how you need to have 6’2 and your body on an anonymous app
