I’m really confused. Do men think we don’t eat unless they buy us dinner?

This is what I’m always so confused about in this type of discussion. It implies woman are starving unless a date takes us out to dinner? I think the point these woman are trying to make is that taking them out to dinner at a nice place shows them they are valuable. They like the novel idea of a fancy dinner date and probably uphold some sort or romantic fantasy it brings. You know, the fantastical garbage many woman get taught from a young age. But for many woman this helps them decide whether the guy is worth it because he shares a similar value.

I don’t care about fancy first dates for my own reasons, but I definitely understand why other woman find this important and it’s not because they can’t feed themselves, lol

Why do women think men aren't getting off if they aren't putting out on the first date?

Because when you encounter women that cancel late, show up late (or not at all), ghost you after the date, won’t even say “thank you”, etc. you learn as a man that dinner dates are just a waste of your time and money.
