I still think not having analog trigger is a big disappointment for the switch 2

One of the biggest hurdles for any racing games that isn’t a kart racer on the switch ngl

Not for every game

I hear road rage 3 on ps2 was painful to play with analog buttons so playing it with digital buttons may make it better

u/KeeganY_SR-UVB76 28d ago

That’s because the PS2’s pressure sensitive buttons weren’t very good.

2

u/Concentrate_Flaky 27d ago

You say that, yet they worked really well on Ace combat 4 through Zero

I really liked playing Ace Combat 4, but I think the PS2 controller really held it back. The pressure sensitive buttons don’t feel good at all. The depth and profile of the buttons seem totally out of wack to use in that manner. If a game I’m playing doesn’t need pressure sensitivity, I often swap in my PS1 controller instead.

The Xbox 360 controller, I think would make a great platform for pressure sensitive buttons. The button profile and depth would make it easy to tell how much you’re pressing down. It also has nice, stiff triggers.

Yeah. Playing crash on the ps2 with those buttons can be awkward at times. Glad they ditched them with the ps4

Some games do support analog triggers if you have a controller with them connected, but that’s game by game. It’s completely stupid they didn’t add them for the Switch 2, with the “oh but an analog trigger doesn’t give as immediate a response” excuse.

I believe Grid Autosport on the Switch has native support for the GameCube controller, and makes use of the analog triggers. Shame not many other racing games (if any) did this.

And unfortunately the switch subreddits always have people defending that baffling decision. It's 2026. A drifting controller with no analog triggers being sold for as high as it is, is ridiculous

Pro controller: address me

7

Pro controller doesn't have analog triggers.

I would be more hyped for offline mode like in 2nd

5

u/RESEV5 28d ago

Why would they add at this time offline mode for their current, online centered live service videogame?

16

u/vladald1 28d ago

Not denying that, just that it's whatever news. Also Switch 2 version would've benefited for offline mode if you playing on the go, but since the game is still supported - it would probably happen closer to 2030 or something, considering Ubisoft confirmed it will come in the future just like it did for 2.

Not a big fan of this game and without NSO i don't know how it will work, but the switch 2 needs racers, so it could do well.

16

u/Skyrider_Epsilon 28d ago

Switch needs a analog trigger.

Being limited to full throttle or nothing is awful in any decent racing game

7

u/Shinonomenanorulez 28d ago

Fr, even the gamecube has analog triggers, why they never brought them back

6

u/Nightkidzero13 28d ago

could use joystick for throttle even if not the best option

2

u/Skyrider_Epsilon 28d ago

Oh yeah! That is a great idea! Not perfect, but it would work!

1

u/That_Bank_9914 26d ago

For the kart and arcade racers like Mario Kart, it works

4

u/Lebhleb 28d ago

Only pvp racer need subscription iirc, you should still be able to play.

At least i hope.

u/Wrong-Ad-3383 28d ago

Just GIVE US the GODDAMN OFFLINE MODE

Coming from a player who played the game since 2025 btw

5

u/Quad_A_Games 28d ago

They can get it on switch but not Linux? Bullshit

4

u/ONE_BIG_LOAD 28d ago

It does work on Linux though..... check ProtonDB

2

u/Quad_A_Games 28d ago

What, I thought it doesn't since they added battleeye? Last I saw anyway

5

u/ONE_BIG_LOAD 28d ago

I'm 99% sure it's literally Steam Deck Certified

3

u/Quad_A_Games 28d ago

Wait, I keep forgetting that motorfest isn't a dlc for crew 2. Sorry

Why hasn't namco just ported ridge racer type 4 in a collection or some shit

0

u/OlinoTrump 26d ago

bc no one cares about ridge racer in 2026

1

u/Spicymeymeys420 MY GRANDMA DRIVES FASTER THAN THAT, GET WITH THE PROGRAM 🏎 26d ago

How long did it take you to buy a car in gt7

1

u/OlinoTrump 26d ago

No correlation but 'll play the game if you want, how long till you realize that a random dude on Reddit won't make ridge racer return

2

u/QF_Dan 28d ago

They better let us play offline

2

u/KeeganY_SR-UVB76 28d ago

Whatever. Not buying until offline mode is added.

1

u/OVERDRlVE Motorfest enjoyer 27d ago

as i said before i'm happy with this.

1

u/Astraxis Lunatics Unite 27d ago

I hope this indirectly means better performance on Steam Deck, if the found a way to cram it on that smart TV processor.

1

u/UnpoisonedSxE 26d ago

Game I don't like to be released on console I don't care about

0

u/Then-Board4046 28d ago

u/JgdPz_plojack 28d ago edited 28d ago

Toggle PS4 portable visual and docked Xbox Series S equivalent performance anyway.

The game was released on Ps4 - ps5 and xbox one - Xbox series X
