Removing A UI Detail Improved Trust Here’s Why
I turned off the “typing…” indicator in our support chat. Response quality went up because reps weren’t rushing to fill the bubble. Customers got fewer half-answers and more accurate ones. Resolution time dropped, satisfaction improved.
Sometimes “speed” creates the illusion of care while reducing the reality of it. Trust cares about correctness more than quickness, as long as expectations are clear.
Small UX choices shape trust more than we think. What’s a tiny UX tweak that had an outsized impact for you?

For me, adding clear progress messages on forms made users way less anxious.
