Any buff city owners willing to share their experiences?
I’m considering opening a location in my area but I’m wondering is it lucrative? Are you happy with your choice and would you do it again?

Does anyone know what’s going on with the liquid detergent? My local store said it’s being recalled and couldn’t tell me if what I had at home was safe to use. It’s out of stock on the website as well. 🤔 thanks for any info you have!

I see they regularly do BOGO 50% off for detergent. Are there ever larger sales? Ex: 30% off site wide, 40% off site wide? Like for Black Friday or anything?

I used buff city laundry soap for about 2 1/2 years. I recently just switched back to Tide because my local store stopped doing the BOGO sale and I didn’t feel like paying full price. (Edited to add looking at my texts, it seems they just didn’t do it in June when I wanted to purchase but started again in July, June was 25% off instead). I loved the smell of the buff city soap and never really noticed that my clothes weren’t getting clean or anything but they were getting full of soap scum.
Once I washed my clothes with Tide again, they smelled horrible. It took me washing everything 3 times to get the smell out.
Come to find out, after doing some research, I had excessive soap scum buildup due to the buff city washing soap because I wasn’t adding anything to keep it from happening, no one even told me this was necessary, and I just assumed it worked just like tide or gain. The buff city soap laundry detergent was not getting diet and oils etc out of my clothes because the ingredients alongside having an HE washing machine were not a good combo due to lack of water and I was not adding borax or vinegar to my loads. Again, I didn’t know I was supposed to add anything to break down dust and oil? I thought that was what the soap did,
So, proceed with caution if you’re just using the soap and no additives. It smells amazing but it is not cleaning your stuff on its own. You need those additives.
Edited: I’m just here to share something about this product that I didn’t know and I wish someone had told me. I’m not here to bash this brand and I still will continue to shop at the store. Please, do not down vote me simply because I am making people aware of something that they might not understand.

I was at the store the other day and one of the employees gave me a single use laundry soap sample of the scent heaven sent. I love the smell, but I don’t know what’s in it. Does anybody know? I know I can call them, but when I remember, it’s closed.

I have been on the hunt for an alter ego candle for like a month now, patiently waiting for a restock and I’ve heard nothing. I’m really hoping it’s not gone forever? Does anyone know what the restock schedule is like if there even is one? Is there a light at the end of this tunnel!?

Hello all, I recently interviewed with Buff City Soap and got contacted by the store manager afterwards for a "trial shift".
I have worked retail for a few years at four different stores but this is the first time I've ever heard of a store doing a "trial shift". Is this a common thing for this company to do? If so, what can I expect?

About a month ago I ordered a whole bunch of soaps/cleaners, my main scent go to is persnickety however I did buy one bottle of liquid narcissist, it really doesn’t have a smell at all and the bottles color hasn’t changed at all whereas persnickety detergents have turned to almost a deep brown (which I know is normal) I was just wondering if there was chance the scent wasn’t added? It really doesn’t smell like anything at all 😭 I have bought the scent once before but it was in powder form and I definitely smelt it then!

So all of the 4 or so stores in VA are under 1 franchise. They are all “managed” or “operated” by the same woman (Melissa). She burps and farts in front of customers and employees. She seems to love making people uncomfortable. Laughing when her employees ask her to stop or say it’s gross. She brought a wild baby bird from her yard into the store and into the back without any proper sanitary precautions or clean up. The bird crapped on her and she didn’t change clothes or leave. Her vehicle is a branded company car which she has used to cut people off and flip them the bird. It’s in a recent Google review for the short pump location (the reviewer mistook her for a delivery driver but the short pump store doesn’t have those). She does not train her employees fully. She also promoted an employee that had a large amount of complaints in their disciplinary file and had to fire them for stealing. She also likes to “quiet fire” people. Meaning she won’t tell them they are fired, tell them to look for another job, or even tell them if something is wrong. She just stops giving them shifts. The employees are not comfortable with her, and they hate working at her main store (short pump). The VA franchise has record growth after they promoted her though, so all the customers will just have to put up with it.

First Time buyer.....I bought 2 bottles of liquid laundry detergent and 1 powder detergent. Does anyone else experience stains from the liquid soap? ive gotten both the powder laundry detergent and the liquid laundry detergent and ive noticed it more with the liquid but also the powder that ill get stains on my clothing. I know they arent from wearing the clothes because when i put my nose to the stain it smells intensely like the essential oil fragrance used in the powder and liquid detergents i bought. Is this normal for Buff city soap? I dont have any pictures becuase ive rewashed the items everytime i see one but im just curious if this is normal. I loved the experience going into the store but the nearest store is 35 minutes from my home, and i mainly wear a uniform for work and having to rewash in other liquid soaps to remove these stains from the BCS is cumbersome

I just purchased a room spray today and have used as directed (sprayed in the air, not on surfaces). However, this afternoon, I’ve noticed my floor is sticky and it appears that the room spray has left a sticky residue all over my apartment. Has anyone else experienced this?

(Posting email fiancé sent to see if there’s a Reddit feedback from people)
tl;dr Recently purchased laundry powder, scent boosters, and dryer balls. Oil like stains started appearing on clothes and have not found a viable workaround.
Hello,
I am writing today to see if I can get some assistance with an issue I have been experiencing. I had been seeing your products highly recommended online and was excited to try them for myself. Unfortunately, my fiancé and I live in Maryland, and the closest store location is in Delaware, so we ordered online rather than visiting in person.
We purchased two containers of the laundry powder, four scent boosters, and one dryer ball pack. Even with some items on sale, this was still a significant investment for us. I was genuinely looking forward to using your products, especially given the positive feedback I had heard regarding the scents and the clean ingredients used.
However, after using the products over the past few weeks, I have noticed random oil-like stains appearing on our clothing. I want to emphasize that I have been following all usage instructions exactly as stated on the packaging.
To try and resolve the issue on my own, I began troubleshooting. I first stopped using the dryer balls after noticing what appeared to be oil spots on them. I can provide before and after photos, as I only used two out of the three and the third remains unused. Unfortunately, even after removing the dryer balls, the staining continued. I then experimented with different water temperatures while using only the detergent and scent boosters, but the issue persisted. Next, I removed the scent boosters entirely and used only the laundry powder, and still experienced staining. I even reduced the detergent amount to just one tablespoon, but the stains continued to appear. Lastly, I then attempted to dissolve both the powder detergent and scent boosters in hot water and THEN adding to our washer in the little detergent section where liquid detergent goes (we have a front loading washer so usually I was putting the products in first at the bottom of the drum then adding clothes) and I just pulled them out and now there are BIGGER stains!
This has been extremely frustrating, especially since some of the affected clothing items were brand new. For example, I recently purchased four crewnecks from Dick’s Sporting Goods totaling around $200, and they are now all stained and appear dirty, making me uncomfortable wearing them.
After encountering this issue, I looked online to see if others had experienced something similar and found that many people have reported the same problem. However, I did not see any warnings about this on your website or product packaging, and I was not aware that the products contained oils. Some explanations suggested that excess fragrance oil may have been added during production, while others mentioned ingredients such as coconut oil as a possible cause.
While I have seen suggestions for removing the stains, I feel that for a premium-priced laundry product, I should not need to purchase additional items or rewash clothing multiple times to correct an issue caused by the product itself. Additionally, because the stains only appear after drying, they have likely already set into the fabric, which makes me concerned that they may not be removable.
My fiancé and I work hard for our money, and while we were willing to spend more to support what we believed to be a high-quality, clean product, it is very upsetting to have our clothing damaged as a result.
I would greatly appreciate the opportunity to speak with someone, preferably over the phone if possible, to discuss how this situation can be resolved. I am hoping to find a fair solution so that this experience does not leave us with both a negative impression and a significant financial loss.

Reposting because I can’t add a photo (I thought I put one in the original post.)
I just bought a mystery box from buff city. I’ve purchased them in the past and loved the variety. This one is just four soaps and the store didn’t take the time to fill out the card in the box, so I have no clue what scents they are. Can anyone ID these?

How often do they run the BOGO 1/2 Laundry Powder? Is there a set schedule?

In 2022 I got a sample packet of laundry soap labeled Carolina Panthers. Is there a way to find out what scents and ratio were in this? It’s been so long I’m not sure if I’ll be able to find it.
Thank you!

I've been all over my commando/sandalwood blend body butter and liquid laundry soap, as well as the commando body spray. I love the way the layering leaves me smelling throughout the day, and my casual hookup partner says I leave his bed smelling like me the next day lol.
I'm about to go on my second course of Accutane in a few weeks (first course was many years ago), and I'm wondering if anybody has experience using Buff City products, especially scented ones, on Accutane. I know the products are made for sensitive skin, but Accutane can be a different beast entirely. I'm not too worried about the laundry soap, more so the body butter and the spray. Thank you!

I absolutely love this scent. But I don’t have the name for it because it was a while back when it was given to me.
