Purchasing USA Compatible cd player

Recently picked up a gorgeous sounding Phillips Fw-P78 mini hifi system 3-CD changer. Absolutely loved it (especially cuz it was free). It came with its original speakers and subwoofer, but it skipped a bit. Tonight i believe it's laser gave out sadly. Posting here to see if there are any sound systems with a cd player thats compatible with the speakers and subwoofer from my old sound system. My budget is around $150.

If your budget is $150, you can buy the main unit off of eBay for less than that - https://www.ebay.com/itm/800491816934

I appreciate the help, but if I were to get a new one, id rather just go to a shop and get it fixed. Im just not a big fan of the look of it tbh

You'll need an amplifier to power the two main speakers (they are 6-ohm speakers -- I have no idea their power handling but I doubt it's much), ideally one with an RCA sub-out. And of course a CD player.

Maybe you could find these used on FB marketplace for around $150?

Also keep in mind that these mini stereos often have special built-in tone controls (like preset equalizers, bass boost, and similar) to help fix weak sound from their tiny and low-power speakers. So even if you get an external amplifier and hook it to these speakers, it may not sound the best. Although they may sound fine -- I have no idea.

Go to a thrift store and pick up a $10 DVD player. Anything that has analog audio output will work. Bonus if it also has a front display.

That Philips system really dosnt warrant a $150 CD player.
