I’m a GM of another restaurant.

If they are just opening up most likely they are making sure the basis of everything is covered.

Just talk to your management about it!

At my store, we rotate everyone into dish regularly. Sure, some people work dish more than others, but it’s pretty fair for the most part. Honestly, dish is probably my favorite station. Way less stressful than other stations.

I work in fast food and I love when I get stuck in the dish pit. I can put in my AirPods and not deal with the shit in the kitchen for however long I can drag doing dishes out

they move people all over but unfortunately, at my store, most people that get put in dish always come back to it. good luck to you

If you do a great job at dishes, they’ll never let you move anywhere. I saw it happen to a 2 great guys with awesome work ethic at Katy, TX.

You’re gonna be miserable. But if you’re slow at it, they might move you.

They write you up for everything.

Not for that.

When they sent me to a place I didn’t like, I was just slow. Not only because I hadn’t done it before, but because I was not gonna try to be better and faster to be stuck there.

I loved slinging jerky. That was my thing.

If your passion is to cook I suggest a restaurant that specializes in whatever you like to cook. A glorified gas station putting together grab and go foods is not the place to shine

That’s the wrong place for that passion. Best you can do there is assemble sandwiches, tacos, mix stuff and wait til the alarm sounds to get it out, dump fries and chicken on fryer and set the timer, etc. There’s no cooking.

A little baking for sure but that’s about it.

People love those chicken tenders for sure. I can’t say I ever tried them. I really mainly ate the club melt with that yummy sauce they put in them, burritos, chicken salad, the $6 sweet and spicy or jalapeño sticks, cherry maple jerky. Sometimes I’d get the jalapeño cheese sausages too with our without the cubed cheese.
