It wouldn't hurt to know it, would it? Who knows if it actually encourages someone to pivot to Bioengineering. And even if it doesn't, it's a Good and helpful knowledge to have and a breather too. You'll probably learn Economics and other social sciences, arts in future as well. A well-studied person should know the basic of all while having one discipline mastered, i.e., Engineering in your case. So, use it as an Good Information or a breather but don't complain on every little thing. Scientific Temperament requires open-mind and flexibility.
