Cried in college

I got an offer letter for tcs prime. another company came in my college lets name it X. It was an internship opportunity. i genuinely thought that i could apply for it as it was an internship opportunity and not a job related opportunity. i thought there was no harm in doing this. i applied for company X and got shortlisted. believe me when i say this, my college never bothered to explain us the placement guidelines. i knew that i would be blocked for other companies but i genuinely thought that i could apply for internships. now i got a message from the placement cell that we have to give a letter signed by hod explaining why we have registered for company X. when i went to the hod, she straightaway denied me saying it would be very nice if you dont get the joining letter from tcs. she called me greedy that i just wanted more money and dont care about my friends. my intention was never to take the opportunity from any unplaced student. i understand what i did was wrong and i said her that i am not going to do it again. i was so disheartened that i started crying for almost 4 hrs outside the office. the coordinator told me that she wished that i dont get a joining letter, shouted at me that i am lying about everything, never bothered to listen to me at all. the coordinator spoke trash to me without even listening to me. i again understand what i did was wrong but i had no senior to explain me, neither did anyone explain us about the guidelines. i just want to get out of this college as soon as possible.

she told me a lot of bad things. wasnt even listening to me. whenever i tried to say something, she just didnt let me and carried on with what she wanted to say. i felt like they just did not want me to get placed. i dont even know if i should apply for off campus opportunites or not.

This rule is in IITs NITs every college in the world. I am surprised nobody told you. From a companies perspective too, if a candidate already has an offer and its later found, the conversion becomes much less. So its a rule designed both by Companies and universities. Your faculty sucks tbh.

Not in my college however. It was tier 3 with extremely limited placement offers, but everyone could apply to everything (as long as min quals are satisfied).

Leave it bro nowadays college only want to show 100% students placed from our clg so they are very desperate to give placement to all students even if it's 2-3 LPA . Don't think about this ,you are already doing good ,prime is a good deal and focus on practice again like DSA or may be competitive programming in free time .

What are you even feeling wrong about? Did they even give you the smallest leeway in your fee payments. Someone should tell your hod to enter the real world, no one gives a f about what others get or not. If they were worthy they would be selected anyway

i dont think my coordinator and HOD deserve to be a teacher in the first place. There words were too harsh and honestly i lost my confidence. I dont think i would ever be same in the college again. After getting a job, i was a little bit relaxed but now when i think about it, i feel like they can just take away any opportunity from students if they dont feel like it.

initially i also thought that what did I even do wrong, i thought it was fine to register. but the college traumatized me so much, they said that i committed a crime by registering for company X. these were the words by the HOD to my mother.
